What he did was definitely not right, but I can't help but feel a bit sorry for him. He's a guy that wants to make it big, and was offered this chance through a proxy, and naturally he took it. | ||

I first became aware of VeraLynn back in June, when I saw her female-sounding name listed under the Live Streams on TL. At the time, I was an admin for Girls of StarCraft (not the same group wants_to_die mentioned), so I joined her stream chat to invite her to join the group. When she saw my invitation, she ended up ranting at me for quite awhile, making several false assumptions about GoSC*. In her rant, one thing she mentioned was that she wanted to succeed in the SC2 community on her own merits, and did not want to use the fact that she was female to further herself. That same evening, I saw that she was advertising herself on both Reddit and TL as a "female GM." I don't actually find anything wrong with saying you're a girl, but ugh, hypocrisy. Then she ends up hiring someone to ladder for her and to play in her tournaments and showmatches? Way to earn your success based upon your own merits. Just plain pathetic. During her rant, she also claimed she was against all-female tournaments. Someone earlier in this thread mentioned that "VeraLynn" ended up playing in an all-female tournament awhile back, and that "she" won without dropping a match. She later said in an interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpC4olob6DU&feature=youtu.be) that she did it for the 100 Euro prize pool, and also to gain experience and comfort with playing in tournaments**. Awesome, more hypocrisy. In the interview she ended up essentially mocking the girls she played against (I don't think many or any of the top female players were actually playing in it, btw) which is really rude and disrespectful in itself, but was she even the one who beat these girls? What a scumbag. From what some other people are saying, it sounds like VeraLynn has some level of talent, at least in business. Perhaps she also had some actual SC2 knowledge and playing ability that she could have continued to develop on her own if she had given it some more time. Perhaps she could have legitimately succeeded by her own merits. But instead, she threw it all away, choosing to be a cheater and a scammer. She has certainly ruined her own image, but I hope that what she has done doesn't reflect poorly upon other females of the community. It is such a huge shame what she has done. * A few of the false assumptions she made: 1) Apparently all 450+ people in the group joined because they want attention and fame for being female. No >_< 2) All the girls are segregating themselves and being in the group means they aren't active elsewhere in the SC2, gaming, and eSports communities. Not true, just the opposite in many cases. 3) GoSC = Girls tournaments. See below. ** I think GoSC has hosted a few all-female tournaments over the past year or so, but not everyone in the group participates in them or even supports the concept. Also, one of the main purposes of female-only tournaments is to encourage females to start competing and to give them some tournament experience / confidence, so i guess the purpose was served here.... No, but it was universally known that she was advertising paid coaching.. I don't see how you can play on someones account and conspire to play showmatches for them.. And not know they have a paid coaching service. I'm not trying to throw false accusations at you dude.. It just seems highly unlikely of you actually not being aware she was receiving money for coaching.. Thats all I'm saying. Why would you be completely cool with Veralynn receiving the credit for beating all of those players when it was really you who played? Wouldn't that upset you? And wouldn't you also be upset with giving some girl so much publicity for being so "good", and allowing her to make a good amount of money from coaching when those wins that generated her publicity were really YOUR wins? That's why it makes me think you were receiving some kind of "royalties" in return.. For example, receiving a % from her coaching, etc. But props to you for at least coming out. | ||

But I guess I just have a few questions regarding the issue because of your smurf point. Why would you play showmatches under a smurf? You legitimately beat Desrow, Sjow, Tarson, and others but because you played under another name, you couldn't get credit for it. Veralynn was openly stating that it was her account and when you won the showmatches under that name, she got the credit, not you. So I am just confused about that line of logic. Oh, and I'm sorry but when you said "Never thrust women, they are evil" I laughed haha. Trust is the word you're looking for. Thrust is when you physically insert yourself into another woman and have baby making acts. :D (This is not to bash on your English, I just want to make sure you don't make the mistake again for future purposes.) It's 5AM for you so I hope that you can at least sleep well! | ||
