Think of the players who have hit the peak and then dropped off pretty rapidly, or won once and then disappeared. Plus players can't always commit to progaming forever. You might get a year or two, but then realise/decide you can't make enough to justify putting off "real" life for even longer, and you need to leave. Players as well are probably very reluctant to sign for long term because they won't know what their own future holds, and there are fewer guarantees in gaming, especially as it's also such a solo effort for the most part (in SC2 that is). I really agree. Just look at NaDa. Stayed in Pantech forever because of his constistency.

Guess complexity just kicks the players who don't bring results. And lol. And btw ... mongmong: On July 23rd Killer participated in the 2012 South Korea WCS Preliminaries and lost to Leenock at the finals, taking second place That IS a result right there ...

Those are prelims. Thats basically a qualifier tournament before the actual tournament. Not much of a result. He didn't make it to the actual WCS tourney.

It would make far more sense for him to join a Korean team imo. Better practice environment, and while he probably won't travel as much he'll get better as a player. Seems like a lot of Korean players who chase foreign money wind up stagnating as they get behind the general metagame, and don't win anything of note at tournaments. I doubt Complexity will exist at the end of the year what? do you actually know what col is? :O

Last edit: 2012-09-06 19:35:20 result? winning in prelim is considered results?? Ask pro teams if thats even considered as "results" so, winning in semi final of prelim means NOTHING. if what youre saying is right, all the pro teams should recruit players who get knocked out of prelim finals of GSL.

Almost advancing out of the qualifiers for a national WCS tournament is not a result. He has steadily slid from GSL since joining coL and eventually got completely knocked out. The best Killer did was performing well in the playoffs of the EG Master's Cup, aka the completely online tournament which is the 3rd most prestigious team league in North America. This was after he did abysmally for coL in the group stage. Teams sign players so that they can get the word out for their sponsors. This is either through exposure as a personality or exposure as a good player and once in a blue moon the player can be both. For foreign teams, Koreans are usually picked up for their ability to win games (as far as I can think the only Korean to be picked up with a larger emphasis being placed on their personality over their skill at the time was Nada by coL). With the exception of the aforementioned EGMC, Killer did not perform for coL. And he certainly wasn't marketing himself as a personality (admittedly hard to do with the language barrier). Barring some incredible upswing in his results, the best Killer can hope for as far as teams are concerned is to get signed onto a Korean team for no salary. He's either going to retire within the next month or two or he'll stick around to see if he can do well in HotS.
