As emotionally invested as people are on this topic, TL rules still apply. That includes flaming and ad hominem attacks. |

What? Cannot understand how people can make out Destiny bad guy here? Are you fucking kidding right now? Let's say you would send a girl your naked pics, and then u'll hear how she, with her 10+ friends laughs about you, and how ugly u are. Of course you would be pleased, wouldn't you?
TL;DR - Destiny made a dick move - and he received consequences.

Why allways to Destiny. He's such a cool dude but allways gets in these weird situations... Contacting the sponsors is probably the most pathetic thing anyone who follows Esports can do...

First off, she wasn't a "random fangirl", as it is clearly indicated by the fact that Destiny was willing to share his email info with her and the fact that she was scheduling classes and stuff for him. Second off, Destiny isn't really some kind of a rock star who gets mailed nude pictures by fangirls. The fact that he had her nude pictures would indicate that he shared some kind of a relationship with the girl and she placed a certain amount of faith in him, which he clearly didn't respect. So no. I donowachusayin. You'd be surprised how many pros get sent nude fangirl pics... especially during events. You'd be even more surprised at how many of them are under age.
LOL. You're right. I would be VERY, VERY, VERY surprised.

i need more drama baby in the future, more drama destiny

the fact that fanboys are actually arguing that this wasn't the right move is just astounding. Publicized comments openly degrading women, dick pictures in TEAM ATTIRE, but thats not cause for removal? Say what you want about feeling bad for him, but Destiny is barely a professional player as is and enjoys a tremendous amount of success financially for having little to no ambition in sc2. Hes still going to make a living streaming, but next time you think about feeling bad for someone who regularly embarrasses the profession, think of those OGS players who don't have teams right now despite being about 400% better than destiny at sc2. Think of the ST players who are barely making it, think of players like Sasquatch who work their asses off to get some success in tournaments, only to probably not even be close to the money destiny makes for being a drama magnet dirty entertainer disguised as a Professional Esports player. Hes been given chances to change and improve himself, and after this clearly no longer deserves the priveledge of a sponsored team or really even to be a professional gamer. Harsh but reality.

So many hypocrites bolstering the same skeletons in their closet being armchair heros saying how crazy this whole thing is, any guy who went to highschool or university have heard/been involved with these kind of conversations.
Grow the fuck up and move on.

Dang.. it just doesn't seem like Root without Destiny, although I love the personalities of everyone in the team. I respect that they definitely made a difficult decision that was intelligent for their future sponsors though.

I feel really awkward with this situation.

Completely incorrect and off base. He made rude comments in a private discussion, she went apeshit and made it public. Completely different.

Basically, this chick over-reacted hugely. If you find out a guy is bitching about you to 2 friends, and showed them a naked photo or whatever, it isn't acceptable to hack the guy's social media, block him out and post dick pictures to like 40k people then and there, plus 100k+ who are going to see them. This is a dude who relies on his social media for his income. She has jeopardised his entire career and livelihood because of a personal vendetta. It's like the head of a huge multinational business cheating on a lass, so she locks him in a cupboard, then goes around to the desk of every single employee and customer of that business, all around the world, and sticks naked photo's of him over their monitors. Just because our community and businesses are internet based, it doesn't mean that is in any way an okay thing to do. Holy sh*t you don't even see chicks do that on like Desperate Housewives, and this is REAL LIFE, not a soap opera as a bunch of people seem to want it to be. I'm not saying what Destiny did was right or pleasant or whatever, but get a grip and keep personal arguments and issues separate to what happens professionally.
Same goes to these idiots who email sponsors the minute anyone puts one foot across this pious, personal moral line that they lay out across the whole pro scene. Complain to the team if you have a desperate desire to moan, but don't jump at the sponsors, you're jeopardising the legitimacy of scene, and you've been told enough times now. Either that or take your asses off to another scene where people might welcome power-crazed idiots with an overbearing sense of self-rightousness. You don't have the right to ruin someone's career, and mess up all of Esports because of your own personal views and values. Just play the game, watch the game, have fun, and stop sh*tting your pants whenever a guy in the community does something you don't like.

I've seen this several places now in this thread. And I still don't understand it.
E-mailing sponsors absolutely does helps e-sports. How? Because it helps remove disruptive elements. It helps show that the e-sports community polices its own. It helps show that the e-sports community does not tolerate this crap.
If you believe Destiny's behavior is inappropriate, then e-mailing his sponsors is the right move. Why? Because it helps ensure that the problem will be dealt with. Sponsors are neutral parties; they only want money, not drama. Sponsors are the ones who have more power and don't care about the individuals involved.
Of managers and sponsors, managers are more likely to gloss over the problem person. They're less likely to take sharp, corrective action. Or, to put it another way, if they'd e-mailed the managers, do you think Destiny would be getting thrown out of ROOT?
Probably not. And if you think his behavior was inappropriate and that he deserved his ousting, then contacting the sponsors was absolutely the right call. It brought the pressure necessary to ensure that the problem was dealt with. And it helps ensure that Destiny is less likely to be picked up by another team.

It's all a bit depressing but I can respect the need for Root to maintain a certain level of professionalism. That's the way the game has to go once real money is involved, as has been already much discussed in various sc2 forums. It is a bit sad, whatever the circumstances, when this kind of thing happens; and obviously I think we need to be really really wary of the whole "get's get dirt on X" approach some people get. Pro players have to maintain a certain professionalism like any other professional sportspeople, yes; but they are not running for President and it's not legitimate to pull up things from their past, for example, or from what is clearly their private life and has no baring on their pro performance or persona. This way madness lies.
Their are plenty of professional footballers who may have opinions and attitudes I wildly disagree with, and I wouldn't want them as a friend in private life. But the conventions say when they are performing in public, they act differently. That isn't lying to me or the player not "being true to myself", it's the player understanding that they are doing a job now and they are not my social friend. Esports is transitioning from being a bedroom teenager video game to a pro sport and sometimes that culture shift is a little painful. But it's necessary.

hahahahaah I dont follow sc2 too much anymore ( only when interesting korean players and Mc play) but Ill certainly always comeback for the drama.
How dumb can you be to share email fb and twitter stuff with someone whos nude pics you're gonna send to your buddies hahaha so dumb.

i dont really think it will affect destiny ROOT is trying to hard imo, they stack their line up with people with lack luster results and say they are building for the future? to me its just a stream clan nothing that will affect top tier sc2 clan leagues

Honestly I think there could be a lawsuit against bluetea for posting nsfw things to a place where minors can go without a popup warning. Wow, that misogyny. So granted she's likely not the most intelligent person in the world as she sends naked pictures of herself to someone like Destiny, but then Destiny shares them with people which is NOT acceptable behavior, it's definitely a breach of trust and most women would be less than thrilled about that. So then she reciprocates and she's a "bat shit crazy bitch" for it? It wasn't the mature reaction to be sure, but if it makes her a "bat shit crazy bitch" what does it make Destiny? Both parties involved definitely did the wrong thing.
When you give someone a picture of youself, you give them the rights to it. Imagine someone you giving a framed picture, you hang it on your wall and 2 friends come over and see it. Once they give it to you, unless they have some contract not to show it, it is your to show.
Giving you password to your facebook does allow them to post on it, but they still have to be within the law. It is illegal in America to expose those under 18 to "pornography," especially if there is no warning that it is explicit. What Destiny did was rude, but private and legal. What bluetea did was public and illegal.
