As emotionally invested as people are on this topic, TL rules still apply. That includes flaming and ad hominem attacks.

Considering he confirmed he had nudes of a 15 year old and considered banging her on that skype convo, then this is pretty deserved.

I think the better question is which one of you two geniuses leaked the comments? That was for the "best of the team" ?

It just magically got from Skype out? She even said "someone in the conversation emailed me" -.-

If she had access to his skype she could have logged in and viewed his chat log. It's not that difficult.

Or she could be logged in as Destiny when whole conversation took place. It is possible to be logged in to Skype on many computers on the same account at the same moment. And you will see everything what other person is doing at the same moment.

All these people taking the moral high ground and spewing shit about people they don't know. It's just silly, the amount of people that come out of the woodwork just to say "Wow, what a terrible dude." and the like. I can't understand why they do it either. Is it a post count thing? Does it make them feel better?

Anyway, sad for ROOT and sad for Destiny, but it's not gonna kill his career.

Why am I not surprised? Had a pretty large suspicion that Destiny would end up leaving once in Poland for one reason or another. Also just kind of looked like ROOT picked him up on the re-form because he was a founding member, and a very magnetic streaming personality with a large following. gl2root trying to make their organization more professional!

Nice one guys. You got annoyed because he said something, so you spammed his sponsors, and now (other things involved) he's lost his job. Well done, you really helped improve sc2 community fuck someone's life up.

Yes. But just as I don't mind how Don Imus's life got fucked up when he made certain comments, I don't mind how Destiny's life got fucked up for his behavior.

You reap what you sow. And Destiny's had this coming for a long time. Hell, it's a testiment to how not mainstream that the SC2 community is that he managed to get away with what he's done in the past.

On August 30 2012 06:08 Gben592 wrote:
But seriously... why aren't people aloud to say things these days?!?! (Not even gonna comment on thing with the girl... sooo stupid girl...)

Oh no, people aren't "aloud" to be assholes to others without consequences. That's such a terrible thing.

Destiny has the right to say what he wants about whoever he wants (so long as it isn't libel). Similarly, the people who e-mailed his sponsors have the right to voice their opinion about him. And those sponsors have the right to voice their opinion about who they should and should not sponsor.

Nobody's being censored here; this is how democracy works.

People are "aloud" to say things. People just need to accept that there are consequences for doing so. Like society ostracizing you if you say something we find dickish. Freedom of speech is about what the government can't stop you from doing; it has nothing to do with what individuals will say about you if you voice certain opinions.

I really hope this ultimately doesn't effect ROOT in the long run because I really like what they are doing and all the people involved with it.

Best of luck to all parties in the future.

I don't get the email sponsors thing. Destiny gets enough revenue from streaming alone, the only people who suffer from those emails is literally everyone else on ROOT except Destiny.
Though it goes without saying that the self-righteous bastards don't give two shits past their inflated karma, them upboats and all that sweet poontang white knighting gets you (0).

What the hell... I did not know that. That's fucked up. How is that still possible? Skype has been around for so long now. You'd think that would be addressed at some point.

Going through her comments, I wouldn't even call her a feminist. Extremely sexist would be a more proper title. Holy fuck.

Like it or not your players are your image. If he is unable to keep his personal life personal, and be mature and respecable at all times then he shouldn't be on a team. A good decision letting him go in my eyes. If this didn't happen, something else probably would have.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

What's to be addressed? It ain't a bug. I used to be logged into my Skype on 2 PCs almost all the time at home.
