You have to look at the business standpoint to understand what KeSPA's actual intentions are. Try putting yourself in their shoes. Look at their previous history and then it becomes a little clearer.
Not agreeing with it but I do understand it.

funnily enough esf also represents the interests of the kespa players atm
Are Kespa players allowed to join esf? (By allowed I mean can do it without losing their licenses)

Who's saying they have not? I'll still side with people who tried to keep BW alive rather than those who helped blizzard kill it in order to profit from that.

I honestly would like to know what the KeSPA players think about this. Do they blame eSF or KeSPA?

TL summary: This is a response by the eSports Federation(hereafter ESF) to KeSPA's recent decision to join GSL5.
To put it short: 1. ESF is saying they thank and welcome KeSPA's quick response and their deicision to join GSL5. 2. But their decision on not playing their players in the OSL until KeSPA decides to join the GSL still stands. 3. The reason is that KeSPA has still not changed their stance on allowing their players in the GSL in a continuous fashion. (KeSPA is saying they'll join GSL5, nothing on GSLs afterwards nor the imminent GSL4). 4. ESF has made a request to Gomtv to extend the deadline for GSL4 qualifiers applications, which was set to end on the 27th of August.
Thats the important bit right there. Let us all wait and see what KeSPA says alright? Awesome.

We don't give a fuck about KeSPA's profits, we care about spreading esports. Meanwhile most of KeSPAs history has been a giant middle finger to everyone. GOM has shown respect for their players and a willingness to set aside their own profits to spread esports, reschedule etc. KeSPA has mot.

GOM already has a massive piece of the pie, but they don't represent the players/teams interests, the ESF does.
ESF is independent of GOM, GOM really doesn't have any control over them, as ESF are the 'eSports Federation' of the teams that own the players, therefore they have leverage over both GOM and OGN, KeSPA are like the ESF except they are a lot more controlling of their players.
It is true that GOM benefits from this decision, but they really don't have any say in it, it's the teams and the players who are making the decision.

I'll side with esf for the entire thing! They did so much for sc2 in Korea and outside Korea! Happy they fight against kespa who just wants to step in and rule the sc2 scene. Fuck them

I don't know but I hope they can. I am almost willing to bet KeSPA will sort this out within a day or two though..

ESF is running the risk of looking worse than KESPA on this issue... kespa isn't the best actor in the pro SC scene but they have given the appearance of relenting and now ESF risks looking like the bad guy by potentially holding the very first SC2 OSL hostage..

KesPA might've been jerks by deciding to disallow their players from trying for GSL, but to me ESF look like the bigger assholes by ruiining a tournament that is already going on.
KeSPA is trying to screw GSL after ESF joined OSL. This is on KeSPA.

Who guarantees that in Season 5 KESPA does not decide again, that there are scheduling conflicts and they can't allow their players to participate? And why is it bad for ESF. As far as we know ESF players have low or no salary and most of their income is from the winnings. Therefore Kespa players playing in GSL is lowering there chances in making money. GOM players should pray that there wont be a day coming when KESPA players would take top 16 slots in GSL code S

The credibility of KESPA has not improved by removing their players from Season 4 qualifiers... Partially i agree with that statement. ESF participation in Kespa tourament is a big favor to OGN and its OSL, but you forget that the teams are getting something from it. Exposure of their sponsors on nation-wide korean TV - not only on some internet streaming platform or some local tv station. Fun fact both Kespa and ESF don't have much of credibility in my eyes.
ESF managed to screw up two tournaments in a year by withdrawing their players during the tournament (NASL Season 2 and now first OS2L).

Ok all companies that invest in esports in hopes of current of future profits withdraw. Imagine spreading esports then. Also holding a tournament hostage is like the further you can get away from spreading esports. Such action lead to the turn back of current and potential sponsors.
Yellow BW scandal lead to some sponsors think twice before getting into sponsoring SC in korea.

Kespa just needs to say that their players can join GSL4. In this case all leagues can run uninterrupted. ESF is the only one to propose a solution that is best for the fans and players.

That doesn't mean they should be able to waltz in and dictate everything in the scene. Hell they shouldn't even be dictating what their players can play in.
