Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

Stephano if he leaves and joins EG, its actually a good thing for SC2. Why do you ask? Because if Stephano, and ThorZain never got picked up by EG, they would most likely both have retired from SC2. Stephano stated many times that he wanted to retire make as much money and then leave the scene, just like ThorZain. If there was no EG, Stephano and ThorZain probably would have retired and most of you guys would probably just cry.
So EG is actually giving them a chance to still play and make money, just how they liked. Stephano was going to EG you can just tell he blends into the team so well that if he didnt, it would make no sense. Everyone here should expect him going to EG so most of you have to quit crying because if there was no EG they most likely would have retired. call everyone kids who dont know anything make claims you have no evidence for and shit on everyone elses opinions without a proper rebuttle. stay classy He is correct, Thorzain said when he joined EG that he would have retired if he did not receive the offer. It was in the press release interview. Stephano has said a number of times that he doesn't know how long he will keep playing SC2. And people opinions in this thread kinda suck.
because its 80% of kids on these community forums who dont kno the business side of the industry

58 pages for a player leaving his team, wow.
Anyway I like Stephano and I wish him the very best.

Money yes, but if he starts performing worse and worse like somehow all players who joined EG did, i'm not sure wich is worse
EG seems to be good for esports as a business, but not for the sport itsself.

I am glad Stephano will continue to play SC2. He is one of the most simplistic zergs out there and creates great results. \
Unfortunately, I do believe in the EG curse. I hope Stephano stays in Korea or Europe where the ladder and practice partners are better and more available.

Name me players who performed bad when they joined EG? Huk - He won MLG Orlando if you dont remember? and he was in the GSL for awhile before getting knocked out ThorZain - Won WCS Sweden, do you expect more results? JYP - Did well in the team leagues but constant Code A player Puma - NASL Season 2 Champion and does extremely well in most tournaments he joins Suppy - Recently joined played 1 tournament under the EG banner did fairly well

It's just the nature of rumors/trends on the internet. People apply selective memory when it benefits their personal gripe with a team or a player.

This. Definitely Stephano will become a shitstorm magnet now that he's in EG. Culturally he's soooo far from american's standards and conventions. More than that, he just doesn't understands what "convention" means. The sad part is that in EG he WILL have to repress his weird mix of awkward/ bold/ ambiguous/ naive/ fresh/ provocative and that is the cement of his personality and his uniqueness. His "special" factor. He's too young to weight how a social and cultural environement that understands therefore and forgives your shortcomings and your weaknesses is important to professional growth. My predictions is that: He will join EG. He will be forced to not be himself. He will become unhappy. He will begin to suck at SC2. He will leave the scene. Why would you say something like that? That's just dumb imo. "If Stephano joins EG he will get bad at SC2 and unhappy?" Which player got unhappy joining EG? Which player got forced to be someone else when they joined EG? Which player LEFT the scene after joining EG? Axslav is in a new team isn't he? Strifecro/Louder/inka, any of these guys sound familiar? They all left the scene after joining EG. And of course (providing the hypothetical situation occurs) who WOULDN'T be unhappy if they couldn't be themselves? Inka joined quantic then retired. Strifecro went to coach for legion. I dunno about louder. All of which have joined EG then left the scene, regardless. Also when was the last time anyone has heard anything from Strifecro (and I mean that seriously as I haven't heard a damn thing about the guy since he joined LgN) yes ur right with ur point ppl who have joined eg have retired at some point

They will retire fast anyways, because, let's face it: They are bright guys. This is the time of their whole life, where the foundation for the rest of their life is laid. Do you really think Stephano is getting wet eyes because of 50K bucks/year? He just gets some money to pay his house while studying, that's it. If he wants to get a doc, he hasn't got to much time to waste. He is gonna earn more than double of his SC2 salaries, when he is done with his education. And it will be a crisis-proof job you can do until you are old. Progaming is not.
So EG, thanks for nothing!

Stephano stated awhile back that he will be playing for another year

I wouldn't even bother. Sense and reason doesn't mesh well with the hoard of mindless EG haters. "EG Curse" is just another troll spawned by twitch like "Stephano USA" comments. At this point anyone making such a statement has to be trolling or trolling. What has Protosser done since joining Mouz? Omg Mouz Curse. What has Dragon done since joining Mill? Omg Mill curse. What about all the players on Quantic, Dignitas, Liquid, Empire, RoxKis, FXO, Fnatic, ROOT etc.. with no results? Foreigner curse is the only answer!

I don't get it how EG makes SOooooo much money... It's not like any of their players won some major tournament in the recent months. Alex sure knows how to find money.
