Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything.

It doesn't matter if they have some players that aren't involved in the drama. While I respect those members for not involving themselves, it still makes the team look terrible when you have 2 players that market themselves as pro gamers, almost always diving face first into every controversial situation that pops up. And not only that, but their managers don't even try to punish these players for doing this, no.. they join in.

I like to think a bit more pragmatic: There are things you can do that benefit SC2 as an industry, but there are definitely things that can turn out to be harmful. I'm not saying what EG does will definitely destroy SC2 as an eSport, but from what eSport should've learned with WC3 (which was incredibly huge for a long time, especially in China), EG is doing sth. that is worth talking and thinking about to a greater extent. Besides that, I don't think EG is doing themselves a favour by picking up good players from other teams, often surrounded by a controversy and often leaving the former team in the rain with one of their best players now on EG. EG didn't do anything to grow Stephano as a player as of yet and other recent pickups like Thorzain also didn't benefit from the transfer (as of yet), so for me, it looks like EG is taking credit for the hard work of others, just by handing out huge amounts of cash. Therefore, just getting bigger because they are already big, absorbing other players/teams.... You can see how that can lead to a problematic situation if it goes on exactly like this, right? Makes them look greedy, overly money-dependant, insecure with their line-up as it was before the new acquisition and insecure in their ability to develop and help new talents. Thats why I think the pick-up of Suppy was much smarter from EG and made them appear in a more sympathetic light. I for one cant see the problematic situation you are talking about. How many of their pickups have been "surrounded in controversy"? The Lakers have a history of taking other teams talented players, in fact that just pulled it off again this summer. They took a top 5 player from a smaller, less successful, less financed team. Is the NBA headed toward a problematic situation now?

JYP is getting better in EG.... always sorta wacky? why that? but I still really don't like that all the good really top players are going to EG ![]() makes it kinda boring eventhough it is nice to see them totally fail in teamleagues nonetheless xD

I wouldn't consider Naniwa a credible source considering he has trouble explaining things with his english and his situation is quite different then others(he didn't have anyone around but Sase and his enviroment is what makes Korea a "crappy place to live". I imagine Korea is different for everyone. Tasteless even said he wouldn't move back to the US cause of his love for Korea, even if things changed for him work wise. Jinro, Huk, TLO, and many others seem very fond of it. I think with Stephano's popularity and skill(considering he is signed by a team with money; which is the only thing he will do cause he isn't fucking stupid) he can live quite well in Korea if he wanted to.

Picking up good players and therefore, at least to a certain extent, pulling them out of the environment which made them thrive and obviously worked for them, often leads to long adapting-times, slumps and maybe the new environment just doesn't work out at all. This is why ppl talk about things like the EG-curse. But picking up newcomers could be much more beneficial for them, because it's much more likely that they improve in a training-house, playing together with top-tier-players that they wouldn't have a chance to train and talk to before. But EG constantly picks up players that are top-tier, but will most likely only get worse in EG (at least for a short time where they need to adapt to the new team, training-style, training-partners, management etc.) Yes, there is a chance that those top-tier players will eventually get even better than before, just because EG has the ressources for it, but sth. like that needs time and the chance of that happening is smaller then the chance of a newcomer vastly improving in EG. I'll even go as far as saying that Suppy will be the only EG-player that will show a big improvement of skill over the next few months in EG, but again, that's not me taking a big risk, it's just that the chance of him improving over players that won huge tournaments and were at the top while not in EG, is much bigger than vice-versa.
