It is indeed a very big downgrade. It feels like a casual version of the game, not suited for progamers and competitive gamers. Everything goes so slow.. - Going back to the game after minimizing takes now 15 seconds for me, before it was 3 seconds. - Loading a replay takes now 15 seconds for me, before it was 7 seconds. - Loading a game takes now 20 seconds for me, before it was 10. - I get a 3 second delay at every start of the game (good pc, good internet): my opponent puts workers on minerals at 0:00, I can only do it at 0:03 - I need to go weird ways to watch the 1v1 ranking of some people (it shows 4vs4, no sign of 1v1, untill I click on the 4v4 and then there comes the 1v1 option).
I really wonder how you can make such interface and say "okay this is better, let's patch!"

Yeah I agree that the new low settings are going to take a while to get used to. Imo it was an unneccessary change but after like 15 games we will all probably be used to it. So far i think the interface is a lot better. Just going to take some time getting used to it

That patch resetted your video settings. Make sure you've selected Fullscreen (Windowed) to make alt-tabbing fast.

People in this thread are such downers lol. As for me I like this patch. I like the new design and it was as fast (if not faster) than before for me, and i'm running everything on ultra/ extreme.
The only annoyance are the bugs, which will get fixed soon

I am terrified that such people that have no connection with teh reality and community work in Blizzard. They have totally ruined the battle.net profiles' functions and design. They are downgrading to a primitive design that is quite ugly. It is ridiculous that such a basic feature - seeing the player's profile summary and diplaying his 4 leagues places is such a hard thing to do now. Not to mention the tons of bugs they brought and seems like they never tested the patch.
Really disappointed this time.

Here a petition to bring back the old patch -> click Can this be posted on TL front page? Just signed up. Really hope that blizzard brings back the old low setting. Has anyone posted this on reddit? I posted it on reddit and it was at -2 after less than a minute. I really didn't care for it hitting -8 and being filled with /v/ rejects calling Mac players macfags, so I just deleted it. I don't like that site very much.

Things I like : - The new fog of war. - Match History and Custom Game lists much smaller. - More Information about ladder on the quick match page. Things I don't like : - Everything is too dark . - Blizzard protecting casual players by messing up the profile summary so you have to press 1000 buttons to get to the player's League ranking. First they removed the losses from the Profile page for people below Master League which wasn't that big of a deal for me.. but now they just added too much useless !@#$ on it that I really don't care such as Most Played Mode and Total Career Games. Also before was easier to browse someone's League rank by just mouseover the league icon... WHERE ARE MY TOTAL CAREER WINS? - I lag everytime I engage in a battle no matter how big it is. I hope it's a bug because it never happened before. - Custom Games are broken and bugged. (Queen range, Infestor movement speed etc.) - When I log in it seems to me that I'm installing something on my computer rather than logging into a game. - Quick Match icons and layout really ugly imo. - No tournament maps? I do not like this patch and I really hope Blizzard won't kill this game too because they're not listening to the community and neglecting everything. I thought this patch was made so they can promote custom games, but they really put in useless things that should not be there.

Ugh..
Game just got a lot laggier for me fps wise. Dropping below 10 fps in mid-game fights already, this only used to happen in big 200 200 TvZ fights pre-patch. FML. :<

After all they readded stats for non-master-players, right? although it's kinda hard to really see them, but if someone only plays 1v1s you can see the total games and total wins in one season. atleast something many people hoped for, although it's kinda stupid.
But the fact that the profile page actually has no real info at all is totally hilarious. The old one was SOO much better. The graphic changes are also unnecessary and will probably take some time to get used to.
Just stupid that they keep messing up.

I must say that I like this patch very much.
• The game content is now much better organized. The Starcraft / Arcade split makes sense.
• All Starcraft content is now avialable from a single page, including cooperative versus AI and custom games. Yay!
• The main menu bar is now much cleaner because it contains less items.
• Stats and match history pages look much better.
• Many small improvements like GPU temp when fps counter is enabled or the display of the season's end date.
• The border of the creep looks darker. The minimap creep is more pale.
There are some font inconsistencies. Also client restarting due to graphic options change still requires a new login. I hope such things will be fixed in the future.

Sucks for you then that you don't get stuff from them when they are your sponsors and you have a pc that makes you lag ingame. :<

I usually play on low anyways, I dont notice any real change in performance. Can someone tell me what I should be looking out for? fps still the same etc...

By and large I like this patch, I mean, at least what it was supposed to patch:
Pros: -New interface feels more PC setup, less console-like -Arcade is getting its own featured tab, which is better for the game's longevity as well as convenience of custom game players -Starcraft tab makes things easy to find for new players (challenge mode, vs AI, and the campaign). -Easier chat setup, it's not exactly what we had in '98, but it's slowly getting there, and I appreciate Blizz's efforts to improve the UI that we've been complaining about. We are still a few features short, but progress is progress, and it's better than just sitting with the old stuff.
Cons: -The bugs, oh lord the bugs. I still hold Blizz accountable, but none of these were designed for the patch. Yes it sucks, but it shouldn't reflect on the UI patch itself, just Blizz's implementation. -A few aesthetic things, the new creep, Xelnaga towers smaller on mini-map, small complaints that I may even get used to. -The quick match setup seems a bit wonky (4v4 -> 3v3 -> 2v2 -> 1v1 -> FFA), and it's a bit slower to get to than before, but for the sake of arcade I'll let the latter point slide. -Not enough stats, it's okay to keep some things hidden such as total games or lost games (because hey, not everybody needs to know you constantly lose to X strategy), maybe have those only visible to the actual holder of the account, but the new player profiles just don't have the "Oomph" I was hoping they might have. We need to see career wins, percentage wins vs. race, average game time for a winning/losing game etc. I don't expect this sort of thing to be done any time soon, but the new profile pages seem a bit less detailed than even the old UI.
Once again, I'm still quite happy with this patch overall. It shows Blizz wants to improve the UI and is willing to put resources into doing so. I think next time I'll sign up to the beta test for it and suggest some of the ideas I see here. The overall UI change is preferred, but we have a bit further to go before we have that oh so wonderful dream interface we've been waiting for (clans, more stats, streamlined features etc.).
Here's to the future gentlemen (and a fix to all these bugs), gl hf!

i dont like it:
1. It is uglier
2. It takes more time to get to 1v1 quickmatch
3. It is really difficult to quickly check someone's rank
|
I really like everything. Huge improvements throughout the game and battle.net. I feel everything is more organized, and looks more professional. The refreshed feel is nice and welcomed. I also appreciate that Blizzard has listened to their users and have done work regarding the social aspect of the game with slash commands, chat channels, etc. Functionally, I am still waiting for a meaningful ranking system and replays with friends....but I've waited 2 years for that...what's 2 more?
