It's not about how he acts, its about what he represents. Sweden. People need to look past where they are from and base their opinion on what they know. :D His determination and I-don't-give-a-shit attitude to everything besides Starcraft reflects my views on swimming, which is why I support Naniwa. I'm sure there are some people who support him because he's Swedish, but I don't think that's the only reason people do.

Pretty sure he is the only foreigner in code S atm and the only one to stay/reach ro8 in about 1 year, he can't really fall into obscurity yet.

That kind of determined attitude mightn't make for someone who'd be awesome to be around (I wouldn't know, and neither would anyone else in this thread) but it still has to be respected. EDIT: And note: I'm not Swedish. Go figure. There are hundreds of sc2 pros who want to the best at what they do, and they dont put down their opponents in bigtime matches when they lose like naniwa just did to johnnyrecco in tsl4. He has no respect for the game or for his competition and has proven this time and time again despite his determination to be the best at it. Not a good role model.

1$ on quit programing after trying to play for "sub-top" team. 0.1$ on joining in a Korean team. 0 $ on being pick by EG. this thread become hilarious

Nani is the sole reason I still follow the SC2 scene, when he is out of a tournament, it kind of dies for me. Wish you good luck Nani! Jeez, you must not watch very musch sc2 then considering his recent tournament failings. Oh yeah and ro8 code S is still ro8 code s. Its not even the semis. Too bad you missed out on some amazing season finishers the past 2 seasons.

It is hard to stop being from Sweden. I think Naniwa is an amazing player and although Naniwa is a little odd I like him regardless. Cause I think other people might find me "odd" to, and like Naniwa I am very competitive to my nature. Therefor I enjoy watching Naniwa play and can relate to his "problems". If this is because I come from Sweden? Dunno, maybe it is. It is true that I like the success Sweden has within esport though, for sure.

Just wondering ![]() tbqh honest ive never been a fan of idra and think he is mostly an ass to people. But I also realize his in-person behavior is different, and I've met both players in person. 1 guy was mingling with his fans signing autos and taking photos and another was shrugging them off and acting above anybody who tried to approach him. You guess who was who. also, guess which guy had a kid standing next to him during one of his match on the side stage with a sign calling him a loser? naniwa did. I was wondering why this guy would be such a dick to naniwa so i approached and asked to see what was up. he said he just got into sc2 and naniwa was his favorite player. he finally got a chance to meet him and naniwa didnt even open his mouth, just flicked his hand to tell him to go away. defend him all you want, but I already know what I need to know. when idra burns as many bridges as this guy has, I will be saying the same thing, so lets hope that never happens.
