TSL shouldn't count, if TSL counts so does EGMC and every other good online (team) league.
|
Did we use online tournaments before ? If no, then for the sake of consistency, we cannot include TSL. Or we can do it from the beginning with Iron Squid (Which had way more prestigious players), IPL 1 or 2, and NASL (Way more prize pool)
Either we do it from the beginning with those tournaments included or we skip online parts of those tournaments completely. We can't just include TSL out of bias and make an inconsistent exception.
Edit : I'd rather have online tournaments. But it's up to whoever wants to do the work to decide.
|
Shouldn't include online events. How stupid would it be if TSL4 counts but TSL3 didn't? Makes no sense.

GUN is THE REAL WORLD CHAMPION
So some random korean is unofficial world champion including online tournaments, he dont have any games in TLPD for almost a year. Atm hes champion for almost 300 days. Congratz to him!
#ninjaedit now we only need to redo it with every z33k and playhem cup as wel as GSL qualifiers #ninjaedit2 obviously we cannot include online tournaments into UWC award

|
Elfi was once world champion. That's all I needed to hear.
|
For consistency's sake TSL4 shouldn't count, otherwise somewhere before Nerchio big online tournaments would have led to a completely different trail.
|
So if Nerchio as the current "real" champion never plays in an eligible tournament again (because he does not qualify, retires, or chooses to not take part, etc.), he'll stay the champion indefinitely?

My Idea is for someone with more talent than I to mount a golden keyboard on some type of belt.

For consistency I think everything online should not count. Nerchio is champ !

DarKForcE is the boss here.

Since we're arguing over whether or not TSL is prestigious or not, I've created a new Unofficial World Champion. Here, we only take into account the most prestigious of all tournaments: Starleagues! Therefore, only the GSL and OSL count. This is also known as the Koreans, Jinro, and HuK.

Seed is your Unofficial World Champion! This makes more sense! This really just means that whoever won the GSL last, or the last winner of the OSL, is the current world champion. We can include this list as an aside (Maybe champion of Korea) but I feel pretty strongly that TSL from the Ro32 onward should be included into the UWC discussion.
Even though all my favorite players have long dropped out of TSL4, and even if they stayed we would never have the same awesome storylines that TSL3 had, for me it's one of the most important tournaments of the year. I think a few other people agree with me.

You can soothe yourself by the fact that TSL4 is included, just only the games occurring at "LAN"! It just doesn't work that certain online games count, because they're from a popular tournament hosted by a popular site, TSL does not have monopoly on important online games. As I've alread written it should either be pure LAN or LAN + all major online tournaments (IPL1/2, NASTL, EGMC, IPL TAC, TSL 3/4, and whatever I forgot).
