He scanned his own main base as soon as a doom drop landed, and he scanned AFTER he repositioned his army from his third back to his main to intercept the doom drop. I must admit, as a skeptic for everything else they had said, THAT, coupled with the fact apparently Spades NEVER once looked into the Fog of War, which is virtually impossible to play, is ridiculous. Are you saying when you move your army out you never A-move the other location? You instead use hte minimap the entire time, to 100% of the time reposition your army as you move out, in every single game you play? But don't do it in ladder games? Bleh. I would find it impossible to try to always move out via the minimap, you'd never be precise, ever. | ||

Current maphacks are undetectable by warden, have production and unit tabs (much like replay/observer mode does), and a full minimap. They also have something, as the OP mentioned, called a camera lock, where they can hit a key to 'lock' the camera. This is so in replays, when observed, it looks like they are just looking at a certain point and doing nothing, but in reality, they are moving their camera to spots like through the fog of war, clicking on enemy units and even production buildings to see what they are building (redundant now with the production tabs of new mh's though). The easiest way to detect maphacking, is to play the replay in the first person view of the suspected player, and keep the APM tab up. When you freeze your camera, it will freeze your screen when viewed in the replay at a certain point, but your APM is still registered (producing workers/units, army movements, moving the screen). So the first suspect thing, is when the maphacker's camera goes idle, but his APM is still going about (it will often fall a lot since they are focused on maphacking though, but it won't be zero as it should be if you are doing absolutely nothing or moving your camera or clicking anything). The most damning way to tell if someone is maphacking, is to take a replay of where both players have similar average APM. When compared, the maphacker will look really lazy, making their 100 APM look more like the first person view of a 20 APM player. Then, compare that to the first person view of the opponent, who at just a measly 80 APM, will be moving alll over the place, constantly selecting different units, and LOTS of camera movement. In GM level, where both players should have at least 100+ average APM, it will be obvious when the maphacker seems to just never be doing anything and appears to be playing much, much slower. As a side note, it doesn't matter if blizz's APM is 'bad', since both players are using the same APM measurement system... just in case anyone stupidly says the APM isn't accurate. It's not about accuracy, it's about relativity. | ||
