In the case of EG it's just hilarious that they still lack the result although their whole roster consists of... the most expensive players there are/were at the time of the purchase?... They probably should just ask the teamleagues to sell them the trophy directly :D...
The real important questions are: Has Thorzain yet recieved his life long stock of Muscle Shirts (which look terrible and as a sponsor i would prohibit my players wearing them in front of a camre) and his oversized cup to drink ugly looking protein(?) shakes AND most important his beard. EG lacks results? They have better results than any other foreign team. They've won MLGs, IEMs, NASL and have had top 3's at many of those tournaments as well. Team Leagues are secondary. GSTL is the only one that really matters. The rest are online. I'm sorry, but online competition is just, its not fair. Outside of Thorzain, what tournaments were the rest of Mouz winning? They are not really foreign team or rather that distinction is meaningless now with Koreans being on nearly every roster. So you comparing them with foreign teams only is not really fair. You should compare them with all (but mostly Korean) teams. As for which "foreign" team can be compared to them. I would say 3 code S players are better than 0 and 2 code S Ro8 contenders are also rather better than what EG has achieved. I hope you know which team I am alluding to. Ok... EG still has more titles than most teams, including Korean ones. And EG has 2 Koreans. How is comparing them to a Korean team fair when EG clearly focuses on foreign events? And how is it fair comparing them to teams with no Koreans ? As I said the Korean/foreign distinction between teams is becoming meaningless. And since Korean teams are sending players to every major foreign event the "focus" argument seems not applicable. Also everyone knows HuK is Korean

I guess you just saw the headline and immediately hit reply without reading? As mentioned at least once on every page so far Thorzain was going to focus on education unless a team could pay him more money. EG swooped in and delivered where no other team couldn't or didnt want to. Also since you claim EG hasn't produced any results, name any other foreign team that has a roster who has achieved as much as EG's players have as a whole with their GSL code S players and MLG finishes. Unless of course your argument was baseless. Not to mention EG's partnership with SlayerS is probably a big draw for players. Dude, i seriously don't care if he was a free agent or not and i'm not gonna edit my post because of some nitpicking. I also don't care about Thorzains motivation and i don't see anything wrong with EG buying him or Thorzain going to them. But that does not mean i have to like it or get all "EXCITED OMGWTF!!!" about it? I honestly wouldn't care much if Thorzain retired, i'm happy he isn't but i, in general, seriously wonder anyway why any western european is doing this progaming thing full time whiteout a serious backup plan, the payout just does not seem to be worth it. Did yout hink i was pointing out Teamleague success of EG for no reason? EG is underperforming in Teamleagues. Thats all i said and wanted to say. As it stand i see the richest team buying/signing the foreign (which means markeateable) player with the most recent success... YAY FOR MONEY! Btw: Saying "EG SWOOOOPED in" and saved us from Thorzain retiring is one of the most hilarious things i have read in a long time . Did they also "SWOOOP" out and send Axslav into unemployment? . To sum my point up: EG buying Thorzain is a smart business decision. I don't like SC2 (Gaming/Esports) in general being a (pure) business. So i don't like signups like this in general.. No matter if Liquid is doing them or EG... Or anyone else. Your ramblings about how terrible money is isn't very interesting to read either To mcc: If you dislike something without even being able to verbalize why you do it, have you considered that it may not be very interesting to anyone else to be reading about it? If you had arguments or some actual foundation for your "intense" feelings it may have been something worth reading about and discussing. Am able to verbalize it, but since I was not actually "bashing" EG in my post I see no reason to expand on it as it has nothing to do with what I was writing and he completely missed the point. You actually made no point at all. All you did was fail to explain how acquiring thorzain was wrong in any way. And you still miss it. I was not saying it was wrong. I was objecting to you calling out people who say EG BOUGHT ThorZain from mouz (with emphasis on BOUGHT). You just saw that I disagree with you and baselessly assumed things, specifically that I am saying EG is terrible for buying ThorZain. If you did not assume, but read my post you would see what I was saying. Maybe you should try it.
Eh? You tried to claim that they took him from mouz, which is not what happened at all. You claimed that since thorzain "could" have signed with mouz had he continued with gaming (which he wouldnt have); saying they didnt buy him was arguing semantics according to you.
This is where you were wrong, and I pointed it out. For some reason you claimed that this had nothing to do with what you said. Which makes no sense at all.

Haha, nice try. You're attempting to use facts and reasoning to debate someone who hates a team because its players care about fitness and have facial hair.
Wtf is wrong with you? Did someone say something not entirely positive about EG and you feel the need to cry foul?
I said EG lacks results in "TEAM LEAGUES" specifically... I don't know why you don't get that or try to denie that... You probably are not very good at reading. To bad for you.
I do hate EG because they got Muscle shirts and beards? Uhm.. No? I just think wearing muscle shirts infront of a camrea is "not exactly ideal" and the beard/muscle shirt to me personally feels like an EG-Uniform ^^. Where is the big "hate" you see there... Oh, i forgot... Your obviously not very good at reading/understanding.
By your logic about only GSTL i could also say: 1: Tournaments don't count. The players are there playing for themselves and not for their team, therefore these are not EG's (or whoever elses) wins! (Just to make sure that you get it: I AM KIDDING 2: No EG player has won a GSL. LOL EG IS TERRIBLE.
But i don't, because that would be just as stupid as neglecting all the other leaguse for some arbitrary reason. If EG signs up for a teamleague thye should be and want to be a top contender, yet for some reason they aren't (or weren't) which to me is a lil hilarious.

well didnt see this at all.. congrats thorzain! Cant wait to see how much you improve by going to korea!!! Will be fantastic opportunity!!!

On page 871 you say "If I had best interest if ThorZain in mind, I would say EG offer was bad for him. He should have quit SC2 as quickly as possible and go back to school. But my opinion is based purely on this move ruining my favourite team. And of course on my eternal hatred for everything related to EG."
Your favorite team is implied to be mouz. I bet you didn't flame them when Thorzain was with them. Also on page 958 you say "If you actually cared for ThorZain's well-being you would wish he quit SC2 and went to school. And I couldn't care less about esports." This is probably the most pretentious and ignorant thing I have ever heard any human being say. Ignoring the fact that you think you know whats best for people you don't know personally, and ignoring the fact that the statement "And I couldn't care less about esports." directly goes against your previous statement of having a favorite SC2 pro team and being emotionally invested enough to have an eternal hatred of another, if you really had Thorzains best interest in mind you would want him to be happy with what he does in life and have enough respect for him as a person to not imply you know whats best for him. You are not bright.

Guess now that he joins EG.
He can truly be the Spoon-KILLER
Hard to find something more evil that that :D

Nice move , I guess. Now EG have the sickest terran roster of all foreign teams. Also after reading through couple of a pages in this thread I think that some people need to grow up... EG offers contract to a player, the player agrees to it and signs it. Can't see something wrong with that.

Are you aware that your initial quote above proves this statement is not true? You mention team leagues but not team league results. Compare the bold statements and try again.

haha hilarious vid. Grats Thorzain so excited to see where you go from here. Seems like EG might be a perfect fit for you.

Awesome Geoff is awesome!

was not expecting this at all. it was a great pickup by EG though

Video very nicely done and a good laugh

Yay, EG.McLovin fighting!!
|
One of my absolute favourite players joins my favourite team. Wonderful news <3
I hope to see great things from ThorZaIN in the future as well!
Sweden fighting~

Did not see that coming as well - though some sort of pattern seems to appear ( Puma winning NASL -> EG ; HuK winning DH --> EG ; Thorzain winning DH --> EG )
All the best to Thorzain - hope he can keep doing great things with the EG guys.
