Besides, isn't Naniwa one example of a player with a terrible GSL record who made it in the RO8 later? If you give them enough kicks at the can eventually they're going to hit it.

Actually no, taking a year off school, making money, plus, travel around the world competing (even on a video game), having a fan club and prize money, will look good on a resume, so nope, he's right, very few people are actually right to make that decision and he's one of them

I think Thorzain knows what he wants to do with SC2 and school, I don't know why people are trying to tell him what he should be doing simply because they don't like EG or feel like they know how his life is going to work out. It's not like he's quitting school, he's taking a year more off. Stephano is doing the exact same thing, nobody was complaining about it in that thread. Silliness.

Imo, he CAN compete with the Koreans and these seeds are also based on viewership potential: people DO want to see foreigners in GSL, so there aren't many possibilites to choose except for him and Stephano, from the players outside of Korea. Idra and Sen got their seeds without having recent tournament victories, why wouldn't Thorzain deserve one after winning Dreamhack? He should get at least a chance at the Up and Downs. The comparison shouldn't even be between Thorzain and Naniwa (who is already in Code S for next season), but rather between Thorzain and everyone else who isn't in the GSL (except Stephano, who will likely get a Code S seed). There will be two Code S seeds awarded based on international tournament performance -- if Thorzain isn't deserving of one, who should get it ahead of him? Perhaps if Thorzain falls flat at Spring Arena 2, while someone out of the GSL wins it, they'd consider putting that player in Code S and Thorzain in Up&Down...but the invitation might be extended to Thorzain before then anyway.

Now if Thorzain would just turn on his fans and insult them, we'd have ourselves our own fallen hero! Come on Thorzain, think of the drama! or how about thorzain just wins tournaments and then make all the mouzsports fans cry.. that would just cause more drama

I have yet to see a player from their branch actually improve rather than get worse. Ofc I'm talking in relative terms.
