Are the EU servers still borked ? 3 games and it seems to me that the plugin has a hard time checking for profiles or something.

It's the "ERROR: Could not find memory profile for the opponent!" that got me guessing... And it doesn't seem to happen on every check?

Note that this was an old SC2Gears / plugin install that I had on another PC (and that I think I never ran on the one I'm using now). Last time I used them was in August, memreader had no trouble at all. I updated but SC2Gears, then the plugin, then restarted SC2Gears... and now it seems like I have a problem :/
Do I need to do a fresh install ? Or just wait it out until Blizzard fix their s**t ?

It's the "ERROR: Could not find memory profile for the opponent!" that got me guessing... And it doesn't seem to happen on every check?

Note that this was an old SC2Gears / plugin install that I had on another PC (and that I think I never ran on the one I'm using now). Last time I used them was in August, memreader had no trouble at all. I updated but SC2Gears, then the plugin, then restarted SC2Gears... and now it seems like I have a problem :/
Do I need to do a fresh install ? Or just wait it out until Blizzard fix their s**t ?

The earlier problem where the web profiles were updating out of sync has likely been fixed. For example that "WEBSERVER no update happened!" was caused by very short game (the game end result had already been updated when the tool fetched pre-game data, the tool waits 40 seconds before fetching).

But the memory reader part needs more research. Blizzard did release a small patch during the weekly maintenance. I wonder if they changed the memory addresses... But I am too tired to check now, will check tomorrow.


Edit: The update process should not break anything. It might be that the memory addresses are incorrect due to the SC2 patch...

If the memory addresses were changed in Yesterday's SC2 patch, then it will give that error to everyone. But as I said I will check that Tomorrow. Of course somebody that is using the memory reader could comment in the meantime, if the memory reader cannot read the player data anymore (memory reader results are shown in the 'Game Log' tab of the 'Log' that can be opened from the top toolbar).

But if the cause is due changed memory addresses, then the new ones will be solved and a DB file containing them will be released. But will have to wait...

2014-03-07: New DB file (version 17.5) has been published

Please update the DB file by restarting SC2Gears. It updates the memory addresses for memory reader (Blizzard had changed the addresses with their SC2 patch 2.1.1). Thanks for InfCereal for solving the new addresses.

You were not the only one getting the error. Blizzard had indeed changed the memory addresses. Thank you for letting me know. Please restart Sc2gears to download a new DB file that fixes the memory reader addresses.

Hm. I haven't changed my starcraft name in many months, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. If there's any other data I can provide let me know, I don't have very many good games at all so I suspect it's just not calculating it correctly.

Oh. It was other way around. You gave your old bnet character name in your last post. And the uploaded game data contain the new one

Well everything seems to be working like a charm, still needs more data (guess it's normal since that was my first game post-fix) but I saw no error message and profile fetching seemed to work well.

Mine seems to make no sense when I have it on. I am #2 diamond, but it says I am just barely into the diamond range... It said I was plat for awhile when I was diamond as well.

Your standing within a particular division does not necessarily correlate with your standing within the entire league since you're only able to directly compare yourself with the other 99 people in the division which may not be a representative sample.

Hmm. So the US web profiles are still updating out-of-sync? I thought / hoped Blizzard had it already fixed as I had not heard anything for a while & EU web profiles seemed to be fixed when I played some games earlier this week.

(Of course you can verify that out-of-sync issue yourself. Before match load your match history and & ladder division page in a web browser in tabs. Do it twice so you have two windows containing the data. When the game ends immediately refresh the tabs in the other window and check the refreshed tabs. If either of the pages did not update, you can refresh it in intervals to see how long the delay is)).

Mine seems to make no sense when I have it on. I am #2 diamond, but it says I am just barely into the diamond range... It said I was plat for awhile when I was diamond as well.

That is normal. Your MMR can be in lower league range & you can still be at the top of your ladder division in your higher league. (I did not check your profile, but it is generally common that many top ranked players' MMR is close to low border of their league or is in lower league range).

This is also why there are often complaints when people are dropped at the start of new season. They think they are in high MMR range of their old league due to their division rank, when they actually are in lower league range. This confusion amongst players is even amplified due to the MMR decay (it is still there after the offset changes, but there is still not enough data to determine if the max decay is little smaller than before).

Update regarding the web profile out-of-sync issue:

As NiteshadeSC2 few posts ago noticed, the web profiles are once again updating out-of-sync (match history updates immediately, but the division page after considerable delay). At least NA & EU servers are suffering from this. On NA server the situation seems to be quite grave. After my test game it took several minutes for the division page to update...

I may have to later set data lock in place that sets all matches bad (will inform you if I do so). I will try to prepare a new version of the MMR tool during the coming week, where I will slightly increase the data fetch delay (current delay is 40 sec) + add a backup file for the dropped games. But a 10 to 20 second delay increase will not solve the problem that it may take several minutes for parts of the web profiles to update. One can hope that Blizzard will fix their web profiles.


Edit: Played little more on NA. For some games the web profiles updated immediately. For some games it took several minutes for the ladder page to update.

Was wonderin, does anyone know what is the actual grandmaster mmr requirement right now, EU serv? Is it just like the mmr tool suggest, ~2200? Is it data collected from people or just an estimate made by the software?

The true GM border is dynamic. There is not enough data to dynamically update the GM border for the MMR tool.

Thus I usually check the entry barrier for GM when GM opens in start of each season and that value is left to the MMR tool for the remainder of the season. The current borders were accurate for EU, NA and KR when GM opened for this season. Thought Blizzard has changed the league offsets after the start of this season, so there may be slight inaccuracy in the converted value.


The entry border has dropped slightly at the start of each new season for several seasons in a row for both EU and NA. It is likely that in start of the next season, the current value will be quite close.

Hmm, quite peculiar, you'd think the KR border is the highest, right? Well, I guess I can just keep on trying, still have about 3 weeks to get up with my mmr from 1700 to that rough 2050 :s It's gonna be harder than I actually hoped it would be..
