Aren't these western teams worried that their new acquisitions are simply going to leave them for a year for their service. Unless going to western teams allows Koreans to avoid millitar service? taeja is 17, military service isn't even a question the next 4-5 years.

Not the case with TaeJa, but definitely the case for GanZi and NaDa.. NaDa wanted to go to more foreign events so he can have that experience before he has to join the military, I'd imagine it's the same for GanZi..

Keep in mind too that with Huk they essentially got into a bidding war with EG. It's possible Liquid was the only team involved in talks with Taeja, which would keep the price down. Also, while I do love Huk, Taeja is on a different level. It's possible Liquid fought harder for Taeja than they were willing to for Huk.

Yes, but for most people, with HerO there was still doubt if he could get out of the up/down matches... with TaeJa, there was no doubt at all for anyone really.

There is no question that TaeJa has accomplished more in Korea than HerO has. HerO has had a lot of success at foreign tournaments, but not until Liquid was sending him there. There had been whispers of how good HerO was, but whether it could be attributed to nerves or whatever, nobody had really seen it yet on the big stage until he joined Liquid and subsequently rolled Dreamhack. TaeJa on the other hand, is already a big name in Korea. They call the ESV Weekly the TaeJa Weekly for a reason, and he's also #1 in ELO. If you can expect the same increase in skill (and exposure in foreign tournaments) in TaeJa like what happened to HerO when he joined Liquid, be afraid. Be very, very afraid.
