so sad that liquid is actually so dependant on the koreans that if hero doesn't play they lose in clanleagues so what they do? yeah buy another korean mercenary that doesn't even care about the team he is on in the slightest but gets more money and can go on a rampage in foreign tournaments....

this is so retarded

What do you expect them to do, let all the other teams get good players and not expand their roster?

look this is exactly why NA doesn't produce any good players
it's just because liquid and EG are so stupid and ratch buy koreans than invest into any talent whatsoever... even those teams started to believe that NA is naturally untalented - just stupid

and then look at mouz/empire who are both doing great with only having 1 korean between both of them and that korean has been living in america for a long time and didn't come to them from the korean server so he was basically a "foreign talent" eventhough he wasn't a foreigner

empire picked up beasty and happy from ladder / online trouneys and welmu too (eventhough he left again but well...)
then they have aristeo who is also a local talent

mouz too
they could have picked up a korean and go for some easy wins like liquid and EG but they decided to pick up biGs and heromarine - 2 EU talents
and it is working out for them (beating both liquid and EG multiple times)

Man, I can see you have only had this account on TL for just over a year now but by the amount of posts you have, you are obviously on here a lot. Teamliquid is actually a European based team, so this concept that they should be focusing on NA talent doesn't make any sense. In some respects I would actually just consider Teamliquid an international team and wouldn't even bother to label them in a certain area just due to their connection all over the globe.

Looking back, they have given NA players a chance, have you forgotten Huk? Sheth? Tyler (Was already on the team since SC1, I won't even count this). Don't slam this team because they objectively look at the talent that is in the free agent market and consider what is in the best interests for them as a team and a business. Are you trying to say Nazgul doesn't understand how to run a team or a business because I am sure they're doing just fine and this addition will only further the Teamliquid brand into an even better team! But honestly, please, since your insight is so great can you please enlighten us with some "homegrown" NA talent that the community is missing out on, that is currently in the free agent market?

TL is not an " american " team, they are based in the EU because that's where the majority of their old core lives and also where Nazgul lives, but now I would argue they are an international team having 2 players from NA, 4 from EU, 3 from Korea.

What have Beasty or Happy done?

What have Bigs or Heromarine done?

Why should a huge and popular team like TL sign players with no results in this day and age? I would say being a player on Team Liquid is one of the biggest honors in the sc2 world.

They signed Taeja because he is a skilled, young player full of limitless potential, that will bring great results for the team in individual and team leagues alike, it just makes sense.

You can dislike it all you want but this move is amazing for TL as a team, they needed another Terran player and they got one of the best.

Why would playing for Liquid be a bigger honor than playing for any other team?

I have no problems with them signing a korean as it's starting to become clear that foreign talent is really rare and spending lots of money trying to breed american/euro talent most often isn't worth it.

Liquid is one of the most if not the most popular team there is, you will gain lots of fans which increases your net worth if you ever decide to leave the team ( see: huk )

I'd say the biggest thing is the popularity of the team is through the roof.

It's not completely explainable in simple ways, but the fans put a lot of worth into being a TL player.

There's a huge difference between honor and being popular or gaining monetary worth by recognition though. There's also the fact that TL gains as much from players like Hero and Taeja as the players do, it has little to do with honor. It's a business deal.

I should have worded that better, because I agree. Being on TL is one of the best possible opportunities for any player because of the exposure and popularity you will gain from it, not to mention I'm sure TL pays their best players well and takes great care of them. I guess that's more what I was trying to get at.

Yeah, it's a great deal for Taeja and for TL for sure. I just didn't get the the honor part.

Were will he practice?

I hope he's going to practice in the oGs house v_v
Would be great for him to be around a good gang + SuperNova and ForGG as "mentors" (They are older)

The real question is who will EG pick up because they need to have the same amount of Koreans as Liquid.

Yeh, they still need a Zerg!

this is so stupid...
i mean if liquid still calls themselves best FOREIGNER team right now (i was already laughing so hard when they called themselves this in the 2011 review) with only 1 foreigner left in their a-lineup .... well i guess they still will because they have kinda weird views to say the least

so sad that liquid is actually so dependant on the koreans that if hero doesn't play they lose in clanleagues so what they do? yeah buy another korean mercenary that doesn't even care about the team he is on in the slightest but gets more money and can go on a rampage in foreign tournaments....
*applause*

this is so retarded

If you're talking about your post, I agree.

What part of Liquid is mercenary? They've kept every one of their members, regardless of results. What other team does that?

Since the interview with the trolls (HotBid & HayprO) I figured that it was either a terran (and probably TaeJa then) or just troll time.
Now with the facts in front of me I am very happy to see TeaJa joining the team.
Liquid has been short on terran players since TLO switched (go go zerg!) and this is a great opportunity to fantastic practice for everyone.

Also looking forward to seeing him in future international events.

wow netizens are so good at predictions. They not only noticed a random mistake by HayprO, but also guessed correctly that it would be Taeja.
