This demands a Lord of the rings poster with the 9 Liquid players in some dark robes as Nazguls.

I am trying to figure out why people are so upset about liquid picking up another korean. Objectively he is a brilliant player and liquid needs another terran, it all makes perfect sense. If race is someones only objection to the player then they have issues. Okay, so liquid might not be strictly a "foreign" team anymore but they still have some of the best foreigners around. peoples only objection to this player is that he is korean...isn't that kind of messed up? I personally am really looking forward to seeing what he can do as i haven't really seen any of his games before

i think this is a HUGE deal for teamliquid taeja helps in more ways then people think
1. Taeja is only 17 ONLY 17 he has so much upside and potiental
2. A terran player who can help jinro get back to his form and they will finally have a top tear terran to help them practice
3. GSTL is so close i honestly believe teamliquid has a better chance then any foreigner team more then mouzsports, evil geniuses, and fnatic (i am a EG fanboy also)

Siiiick news! Finally there's a proper candidate for a GSL winner on a foreign team. Taeja, I think, has shown he has the skill to defeat the best consistently, I think there's a good chance he will be a household name among top8 in Code S, as well as make it to the finals soon - which hopefully he will win ;D

Very excited about Liquid getting more terrans also!

Manny people see liquid as a european team, or at least a western team if you also include usa and canada.
They would off course like liquid to have eurpean or at least western players, its much easier to root for a team if you can identify with its players and for europeans its much easier to identify themselves with european players then korean player nr 42.

Its alot easier for korean players in general to get teams, there are manny teams in korea and they all well organised and sponsored.
For european and american players its more difficult to get a pro team, (also because their skill level is somewhat lower then the koreans, beside maybe the top 3 western players) and they would never ever be able to get in a korean team.
Manny people would like liquid and other western team to support their local players instead of korean players so that the western scene can get ahead, contracting a korean instead of a western player is exactly doing the opposite.
It does add verry little for the korean scene as a whole, while it does take away alot from the western scene.
Maybe 1 korean is ok, so that we can learn from him but having near half the team korean is realy not the way to go for anny western team imo

disclaimer: i have nothing against koreans, MKP is my favorit player

I can't believe people are criticizing this because Taeja is Korean. I'm glad that TL isn't signing some semi-professional NA or EU player who will get a few good results in foreigner tournaments over the course of their career, if any at all.

By far the strongest player hired by a foreign team to date, but that's probably a given, SK teams must be really poor if they couldn't hold on to him.
I like the part where sense is considered a common, settled thing.

Happy for TL but same time sad to see the sc2 scene move the same way the wc3 scene did,
I really hope it doesn't collapse due to overpaying the tier 1 players and ignoring all new talent completely like EG and Liquid is doing, while still getting owned by teams like Empire and Mouz on a regular basis, and those teams promote talent.

I would say MC is better than Taeja in every single way.

The critics on how many koreans on a foreign team feels a little bit like the standard american arrogance. The average NA Grandmaster is simply not good enough. With putting the Sea server and the "making fun" Koreans out of the equation NA is the easiest server.

TL was founded in the netherlands with a CEO from the netherlands. Its more an EU than an American team if you want to think regional. Its silly to think in this regional directions in no other sport someone do that. Nobody says Pau Gasol or Lionel Messi´s teams sucks because they pic up somebody from the other side of the world.

TL did a great pic and there will be one more great player which will perform on more tournaments.

So what? it doesnt matter that the average usa/european player is not as good as the average korean player.
You can settle for a lower skill level and choose to support your local scene
A few koreans who are just below the korean top do not make the teams equal to korean teams annyway, they are still below them.
The average korean soccer player is not as good as the average western soccer player, but does that mean that korean soccer teams should get B lvl western soccer players to fill half the spots in their local team?

Its silly to think in this regional directions in no other sport someone do that

this is not true at all, in most sports teams have mostly local players.
If they are contracting forgeigners they do so because they the absolute top, (and this is not the case with sc, the koreans contracted are just below the absolute top, though arguably still alot better then near anny european player)

well annyway: wont give more negative comments.
Happy for tl that they managed to contract him
