Is that sarcasm? I really hope so :\
It's not. The system isn't very different from what GOM currently does. I prefer licensing though, it's like RL GrandMaster league.
So how is it possible to get upcoming talent into the leagues?
You have to stop thinking from a BW mentality. In BW, when a player became really dominant he stayed there for months. This is a completely in SC2, the dominant players change so much and get beaten by less skilled players so regularly enforcing pro gaming licenses would just mean a stagnant competition.
Courage and B-teamers improving. A player being dominant for months (or years) has nothing to do with how new players enter the system. If you can't even win Courage you aren't going to get the chance to play a good BW player, much less have any hope of winning.

who says MVP/NesTea and MMA will play for the ProLeague?
Who says they won't? I believe kespa won't stop them from entering. They should know sc2 is getting huge outside korea, and why avoid making money if it means people will watch them?
The most realisic scenario is: Players/Teams sign exclusive deals with GomTV or KesPa. So MMA/MVP/NesTea will only play for GomTV or KesPa, depending on who pays more/asks first.

I doubt that that will change with OGN.
There would be no point in Blizzard offering OGN a contract then.
Oh, they are trying. Especially with LoL at their heels, they need to. I just don't believe that this will be able to change the korean SC2 scene, at least permanently.
This is great, hopefully we will get some actual STRUCTURE in the scene, a teamleague like proleague is so much better than the random mishmash of stuff we have at the moment

I think you'd agree that that is something they really need at this point. Objectively speaking, SC2 can't just push out Brood War overnight. Artificially killing BW would cause a major uproar, so doing something like this could only be beneficial for all sides.
Plus Team 8 is BEAST!!!
God I NEED to see BW pros playing SC2.
I was talking about Blizzard sponsoring a BW team specifically, not bringing that team over to SC2 -.-;; If you want to watch BW pros play SC2 you can watch JulyZerg, Nada, MMA, MVP, NesTea, MC off the top of my head. Jeez...

Main income for Blizzard regarding SC2 is still box sale. Korea accounted for around 50% of worldwide copy sells of Starcraft 1. Just because of its popularity and deep ingraining in Korean culture. Thats a big portion of a pie, and i believe Blizzard not informing how well SC2 was received in Korea makes me think it was rather low. They finally understood that postering Seoul and buying out an advert on a Plane is not a way to go.

That would be the worst possible scenario as it would just mean that brood war fans will be forced to watch an "inferior" game whereas the SC2 scene on the whole would not really profit.
On the other hand, if all teams (BW and SC2) would play both SC2 ProLeague and GSL, then this would be incredibly awesome! I hope SO MUCH that KeSPA won't put exclusive licences on their players!!
Is this....Blizzard....fixing...their....MIISSTTAAKKEEE!? If this is all true, I am so happy to see Blizzard attempt to turn things around. Damn it really feels like they put 100% effort into Diablo 3 and the second it seems like the weight is off their shoulders they start up with all the Starcraft 2 updates and what not.
This will be like Pride vs K1 back in the old days of MMA. In the end you saw the two companies send representatives to battle out! So I am confident to see a Fantasy vs. MMA matchup soon.
SC2 proleague would be sick, plus if it is by OGN it would be a pretty good production. My only concern is would they try and shut out foreign audiences with no Tastosis/equivalent?
