Glad to know that Blizzard listens to the community and not just to the first voice they hear. I'm more curious about the new balance changes, however.

I bet a line will appear in a HOTS promo " CLAN SUPPORT ADDED". They will dump it all on HOTS and fan boys will go, "YAY finally clan support, blizzard listens!" If it comes out in WoL BEFORE heart of the swarm, then I will apologise. But it won't, this I am confident. Why put features in something that people already bought when you can put it in a new expansion and people will say you listen and think you did it because of feedback instead of getting more money? Blizzard is essentially sidestepping the actual problems, and giving us a new feature that sounds nice, but really does nothing to improve what we want. Chat channels: Still suck ass, no clan support, no moderation support We asked them to give us similar functionality to classic battle.net as its far superior, they ignored us. This is just as useful as when they put in twitter into battle.net 2.0. Blizzard has really fallen from grace in these past years, and I don't blame the whole activision merger. They used to be like German car manufacturers. They produced an efficient, quality, polished product. Now they are like American manufacturers, they don't care about the fine details, the perfections. They mass produce to sell to the mainstream audience. I gotta end here before I go into an even bigger rant, this can't be healthy, blah blah blah this "efficient" blizzard never existed. Do you remember Diablo 2? do you remember when it was supposed to be released? I have a copy of PC gamer with adds claiming christmas 98. it came out in 2000. Blizzard hasn't changed one bit; they still put out great games, on their own schedule, and now people just have a more public way of bitching about their design process.

They never actually say the words which make me a bit skeptical of what it really is As far as I can see it is not lan, it's merely a way for people who are playing in the same local area sub-net to find and advertise sc2 games being played, the games themselves will still likely be played on Bnet just like you would through your friends list. My guess is that this was feedback from korean players who play in PC bangs, it's not possible currently to just go to a PC cafe currently and have a list of people who want to play a game of Sc2, so it's a social change rather than a functionality one. Agree 100% people have the rose tinted glasses on when talking about this kind of stuff, Blizzard might be slow, you might not like all the decisions they make, but they continually tinker with their games long after there is a financial incentive to do so even if it means pulling people off working on things like HotS, and that's better than 90% of the game companies out there who fire or move their developers on to different games after they've shipped. Hell they've already revamped the custom game interface once, and now they're doing it AGAIN based on the feedback, not to mention all the tiny little alterations they've made (in game clock, building cancelled floating text, spectator UI, matchmaking changes, master/GM league and even down to stuff like the number of harvesters currently in gas weren't in at launch). So they may be slow, but they're certainly not sitting on their hands over the little details in the game.

Perhaps this why blizzard is lacking, too many people concerned with release dates and not enough polish. DO YOU remember diablo 2? I actually still play diablo 2, it was one of the most successful blizzard launches ever. And very little changes have been made to the UI or battle.net 1.0. The game was fucking genius, from launch to current LOD patches. Do you remember WC3? With a fully functional UI, Chat, Bnet and clan/moderated channels? That game was also excellent, with tweaks to mostly improve BALANCE. Now you're telling me that Blizzard should release their games even faster, so we can have more releases like starcraft 2, which is the worst release in the history of their company. Lets push these games out faster, so they come with the worst custom map options available, no chat support, no clan support, fuck it, lets just have a quick search feature and leave it at that. People aren't mad because these things are taking too long, we're fucking mad because they should have been their to begin with! Current D2 LOD Player, Ex WoW Player (Quit after WOTLK), SCBW, SC2 (Top 3 masters Terran) Current, WC3 & TFT, Diablo 1. I've been with blizzard for years, and I've never had a damn problem with them delaying games because I knew I was going to get something beyond normal expectations in the industry. The same can't be said anymore.

Replays with friends, for example, is a huge feature missing that is constantly glazed over which is monumentally important (considering a ton of leagues run off replays and streamcheating is an issue in those that don't). What I'm not OK with is them tinkering with a "you're near to me, would you like to set up a game!?" button instead of realizing what is important and fixing it. Maybe something is better than nothing, but I believe we should expect more

My theory is that BNet 2.0 was designed with Activision in mind, sort of like Oracle. Rigid, easy to manage, designed to keep us little credit card numbers from getting too rowdy while they collect terabytes of data on us.
