Maybe it has to do with the age of the majority of posters. If I said things like this I would lose my job and that would mean a lot more money lost than the maybe 20k a year orb scrounged from casting. He also lied about it afterward. It is okay to call people out when they do something stupid. Orb is getting exactly what anyone else would, especially a professional, for such thoughtless behavior. | ||

And regarding EGs reaction. I don't really think you needed to be fired, but then again, thats up to EG management. If they don't want people using that kind of language working for them, or just people lying about it, then thats up to them. I think most people complaining about EGs decision focuses too much on the "nigger" part, and not enough on the lying part. Just my view on the whole incident. Too bad it took this long for you to admit and apologise, instead of just doing the right thing from the start. Glhf in the future, remember you have done way more for this community than 99.9% of the haters. | ||

Somehow we are meant to believe that orb has total recall of every game he has played in the past year and can say without a doubt that it wasn't him calling someone nigger, but instead was one of his 'friends' using his account. Then, more recent images of similar behaviour show up and only then does he claim responsibility and apologise. How is the community, or his new employer, meant to take his original claim of 'it wasn't me' seriously? This isn't the end of the world or his career unless orb lets it be. Lets hope he learns to keep his temper in check and can recover some of the respect that he has lost in the eyes of many of the community by behaving in a professional manner from now on, both while casting/streaming and when he is just playing ladder. As a start, lets stop pointing the finger at other people who make/ have made similar mistakes in an attempt to minimise the impact of his own wrongdoing. Good luck with your future endeavours, this isn't a death blow to your casting career - but the road ahead is long and the going will be slow for a while. | ||

I'm glad your a thing of the past. This apology means nothing, if you considering this "edit", how you still hang hardly on you story (if invented or not doesnt matter). Think about youself, what you want in the future, where you are heading. For a 23-year old (if the informations from the internet users are right) you seem very immature (with everyday stuff, like starcraft, and problems, like this here). You could start with an honest apology, without excuses like "i was drunk", "my friend played", "if you look long enough you'll always find sth".. Cut the crap and be honest, to the other community members and yourself. | ||

I personally think it's not a good idea to judge someone based on what he has done a year ago... of course that alone does not justify the usage of any bm but i think its not fair to get fired because of things you have done a while ago before you had that job... U denying the first screenshots that showed up is just disgraceful. U called people slanderers just to save your own butt and lied to the starcraft community. This is what bother me, not that u called someone a bad word. Everyone rages. Not everyone is dishonest to his fans/haters/fellow community members. I can personally accept that u rage and flame but I do not forgive u for lying and I hope u write an extensive apology to the people u accused. | ||

You cant tell me you never raged and insulted somebody in your life. Insults are there to be offensive to the person youre talking to. If its racist, sexist or whatever who gives a shit. Did you ever see a racial tension of orb on his Stream when he was casting ESV games? No. As it is for every other cast ive watched by him. What makes you think youre above a guy who used some insult 4-5 times. What makes you think you should be his judge altough you have no clue or real reason to be offended. What makes you think you should end his career and basically kill him publicly because of a stupid thing like this. He didnt do anything wrong during professional casts. Thats what matters. I back EG's decision. If Orb had come clean and admitted his mistake this would be different. Instead he lied, accused people of slandering him, and tried to hide it. That left EG no choice. I'm sad because I like Orb's casting. I wish him a successful return in future. | ||
