Maybe you should try to talk a bit less, and look a bit more into german politics (where every now and then the theme "nazi" brews up, mostly sided by antisemethics). Of course, people like the NPD (nationaldemocratic party germany/deutschland) wont give a fuck if you call them nazis (at least some, but funny enough, some of them went to court even after being called a nazi). But i invite you to read up on their controversy, after that we talk again. But then per PM please, because that has not really to do with the thread here.
PS: Nazi != Neo-Nazi, maybe you got something mixed up there, because Neo-Nazi is a term oftenly used by news-anchors for example. That does not mean that "nazi" is a fine word here in germany (or getting there).
I do not give a flying fk if you live in Germany or not. I don´t have distant relatives there, my dad is half German and my grandmother is a German as well. Good example of the difference between generations, my grandmother survived Dresden, I don´t even dare talking about nazi´s and that stuff. However my dad simply dislikes it, you see the difference? The fact that you have these 17 year olds that don´t have the same feelings towards the word, just shows it´s losing some of it´s stigma.
If you want to say that calling someone a "nazi" is the same now as it was in the 1960´s, then you are simply ignorant and not worth wasting my time in replying to you. Things are changing, 17 year olds that you claim don´t give a fuck about anything, are more calm about being called "nazi´s" then 17 year old´s would have been 30 years ago. Same thing with 30 year olds, they are also calmer now then they were 30 years ago, simply because some of the stigma has been removed from the word, time has healed the word a bit, although it still holds that "stigma" level in Germany, just like I said in my original post. You act like I am saying that it´s lost all it´s Stigma, I havn´t said that anywhere, I just said it´s lost some of it´s stigma, it´s less "terrible" then it was 30 years ago. If you are unable to fully comprehend English or you just can´t face the fact that the word has lost almost all it´s stigma in most of Europe, and some of it´s stigma in Germany, then I don´t care for your reply´s because there is no point in arguing with someone who can´t just face facts. You can claim 2+3=10 as much as you want, doesn´t make it right.
Let me help you by quote you.
It´s not, I know plenty Germans that don´t give a shit anymore.
You see what you wrote? There is nothing changing as long as politics and representatives act like they do. Who cares what a 17 years old thinks? Most of the 17s dont even know what the holocaust was, so why should they give a fuck? Is it good now that germany has problems with the social riff-raff and alot of people are uneducated? Why didnt you look up the information i gave you, afraid that it could prove you wrong? I didnt live in the 60s, i lived in the 80s. And from there on (lets take the 90s, because i can remember them pretty clearly) up until now, nothing has changed. And its good that way. And no, it did NOT lost its stigma everywhere else in europe. And i can tell you, i feel offended. Not by "fun-terms" like "grammarnazi" or stuff like that. But if someone tries to insult me by my heritage.
Ill close with this link, use google translate on it. Maybe you get what it actually means, which i honestly dont think. Funny enough that an icelandic guy wants to tell me how things work in the country i was born and live in.
Btw: Nazi will always be an insult. It CANT be not an insult for every sane person. Nazi is a cozyname for "nationalsozialistisch", which in essence mean NSDAP. If you dont know history, its fine, but dont try to lecture someone who actually knows better. Ask your dad where "Nazi" comes from, and if it was okay for him if he would be considered part of that. Other than that, try to look up the informations i gave you - if you dont, youre just a waste of time, sorry to say that.
You are proving my point in every thread I think. I can read that text just fine and it doesn´t proof anything about "nazi" losing it´s stigma.
There is nothing changing as long as politics and representatives act like they do. Who cares what a 17 years old thinks? Most of the 17s dont even know what the holocaust was, so why should they give a fuck?
The fact is that 17 year olds are not as offended by being called nazi´s as 17 year olds were 30 years ago. That matters because these 17 year olds grow up and become 30 year olds one day.
It´s not, I know plenty Germans that don´t give a shit anymore.
What is wrong with that? I know plenty Germans that I call nazi´s and they don´t care and/or throw something back at me. Admittedly, they are all "buddies" of mine, but the statement is still true. And if you can´t handle this true statement, and you base all your answers to me on that statement not the rest of what I wrote, then I say again, don´t care to talk to you because you are first of all not understanding what I´m saying and/or secondly you just talk crap because of your own feelings and/or the political enviroment in Germany, what a joke, the politicians are not either saying "gay" or other words that have even the slightest stigma to them, your arguments are silly and out of context with what i wrote.
Take your time, read my answers again, and then if you still disagree, don´t reply, because you only expose your own ignorance further.
Your statement is still true? .. Really?
Wait, just let me get this stupidity straight. You have two german buddies, which you call nazi for fun sometimes, and they dont care. And thats why in germany it loses its stigma. Yeah. That sounds perfectly reasonable.
Now, lets talk about insults. I even LINKED you a german newspaper with an article about a german politician who was called "Gauleiter" by a brit (i dont even think you know what that means, because you are an ignorant noodle that doesnt know shit, as you prove over and over). Cared to read it? No? Well whos ignorant now? I can PROVE what i state, your statement on the other hand is "yeah i got a friend or two or so and i call them like nazi or something and they dont care so its kk, k?" - how unbelievably stupid is that?
Were talking insults here. I call my buddies grammarnazis, so? I even told you, thats not what were talking about - if you go to a politician for example and call him Nazi, you could even go to jail for that (and the politician will try EVERYTHING to get you there!). The INSULT nazi (you know, with the intent to insult someone) can even have legal consequences.
What a waste of time you are, really. I give you the tip, read up on stuff before you dare commentating it. Especially if someone does your work for you and presents you with links. If you dont, dont dare to call someone who lives in germany, is german and proves his statements ignorant.

Care to explain ? What is Idra currently doing that is so bad ? Also I do think this was handled very professionnally, the problem here is that most people seem to think that everything should be handled the same way, whatever the context - professionnal or family like - which is plain wrong.
As I mentioned earlier, Idra has more than once used the words "faggot" during games. Notably, a few months ago, IdrA was answering fan questions on his personal stream after some games. Someone asked him what he thought of Canadians, and he said something to the effect that he has no issue with Canadians, but there's "something off" about French-Canadians. He seemed pretty disgusted with us. And that's not the first time he was racist to us, when he basically said that Kiwikaki would use a "gay" strategy since he's French-Canadian. That's not to mention all the general BM and flipping off Huk and flipping him off DURING A TOURNAMENT.
But since you insist on the word "currently", all of this is more recent than what Orb has done - and what bad things did Orb currently do? You're just as guilty as EG of having a gross double standard and you know it.
Please don't tell me what I am supposed to be or know. Also, I haven't seen Idra's BM recently, on the contrary, he even ggs out of games, it seems like. If your examples are months ago, then it does not mean "currently" for me. And I don't think BM and flipping people off are on the same level as racist words. I'd be much harsher on EG if I thought it was.
Well Alex Garfield obviously feels homophobia is on the same level, yet IdrA is left in the team while using the word "faggot". The Orb pics were taken from 1 year old VODs. Here's some footage from IdrA from September 5th to 13th.
Kinda funny how in that entire video the word "faggot" wasn't uttered once. At least watch shit before you link it.
I didn't say it would contain that neither, the video is just an example of how he can be. He says imbecile, gay, retard. If he says gay in a condescending tone that's homophobia according to you guys right?
NOTE: I don't even care what the fuck IdrA says nor Orb, I don't think either of them should be punished harsly really, I just hate the double standards that EG present here.
What you seem to fail to understand is the fact that IdrA is a popular player, with a large hater/fanbase who brings in a large amount of viewers with his games and antics. Orb can't say the same, its pretty simple really. With the pressure on sponsors Orb was taking more from EG than he was giving with his behavior.
That doesn't mean that double-standards are gone out the window.
It may be fucked up, but that is the way things are. Same way as people like Mike Vick get a pass on their previous bad behavior because they are talented/popular.
Everyone getting all riled up about this are very immature and need to get over it. I personally don't think Orb should have even apologized to begin with, but I'm glad he did.
So I hope everyone can just look past this and move on. Less drama, more GG.

Sorry to say but that's complete and utter bullshit. If you'd throw the term Nazi at me or any other young German on the street we would throw something else back in your face than words. Nazi is still not tollerated here and inherits the same Stigma as it did 30 years ago. This is not meant as a threat or insult but please stop posting stuff like this if you don't live here or have real German friends.

Great way of ignoring all other National Socialistic movements outside (Nazi-)Germany. Just how communism means Russia, right guys.
Sorry that im off topic guys but i think we should pick some other caster for next week already i think there are plenty of them that BM'ed and we can dig replay of it. Nothing better then some tl/reddit drama.

Hold your horses man, we'll just keep the new casters masked just in case they once said something rude in high school.
Hey I just read the OP and it takes a big man and a big team to make a tough call like that and face the gravity of the situation. At the end of the post you mention contacting your sponsors to let them know we're happy with EG and we support you guys 100%. I just visited the intel website and wasn't sure which section of "contact us" was appropriate for an e-mail about sponsorship, could anyone please tell me where the best place to send any feedback on EG would be?

The fact is that 17 year olds are not as offended by being called nazi´s as 17 year olds were 30 years ago. That matters because these 17 year olds grow up and become 30 year olds one day.

If you dont, dont dare to call someone who lives in germany, is german and proves his statements ignorant.
edit

That btw pretty much proves that you dont have the slightest clue of what youre talking about. I would give you again the hint to look up NPD or Thilo Sarrazin (ex-senator of Berlin), but we both know you wont look that up, and continue to spread your superficial "knowledge".

no need to ban him as he is argueing against nazi as a common word as it carries some of the worst ideologies and policies mankind has come up with!!!

Maybe you should try to talk a bit less, and look a bit more into german politics (where every now and then the theme "nazi" brews up, mostly sided by antisemethics). I think the reason that he was banned was his direct attack on the guy. I liked the rest of his post, and it would've been fine I think had he just left out the insults. Just my view.
In terms of how the aftermath was handled I'd say well done by all parties. As for Orb I'd say stay the course, it's only 1 strike, a big huge strike but still 1 and people have been forgiven for worse. Time will heal all wounds but you must show maturity and let that time pass naturally.
