Damn, we had a nice tournament filled weekend and some great games and great wins.
ESPORTS COMMUNITY, ASSEMBLE! THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DRAMA!
I know, lets nitpick some noname caster on a noname stream (seriously, who actually watches playhem?)
WAIT NEVERMIND. I was just trolling. I didn't mean any of that. Just kidding, it was all in good fun.

This isn't the first time Katu was an asshole. Pretty BM when he loses in the CSL and this guy is casting at a Montreal event I'm attending ):

I guess Kaku put his foot in his mouth, but Bonk? He was trying to get Kaku to stop, and made it pretty clear that he didn't share the same views... Yup..Bonk did nothing wrong, was Katu that were being a douche the whole time, and then putting out non-sincere apologies - best part though is that he said "I don't think I will lose my job cause of this guys", which he did!

Hello SC2 community,
First and foremost I'd like to apologize once again, and clarify in lieu of some of the comments here, that I did apologize last night not only on stream but I also approached a translator who communicated for me to Dragon my apologies and reasoning.
First I would like to say that trolling is not a professional way to act, though, it can be fun and in person I do it constantly, on air more rarely, but in both cases, I always do it for a laugh and never to tear anyone down. Last night I had a lapse in judgement, thinking at the time that it would be funny to make comments which were inappropriate. I sincerely apologize for making these comments, and any negative impact it had on Dragon.
At the time, I unfortunately did not realize the kind of outrage I was creating. As I'm casting I glance quickly at the chat to look for any audio or video/overlay problems and then get back to the cast. Through these glances I did not appreciate the impact of my comments and thought it to be the usual minority of people who are either trying to stir things up or trolling right back. Bonk who was co-casting tried to warn me as he had his eye on the chat a lot more than I did, however, I did not understand.
So instead of clarifying immediately I just kept it going, unbeknownst to me, simply fueling the fire I had no intention of starting.
Finally, during a game I saw some comments made by co-casters which made no sense, considering the way I thought this was going and then I took a more than 2 second glance at the chat and started to realize what was happening. I was incredulous at first, truly stunned, I couldn't believe the way this had actually gone and I tried to apologize but it was too late. If you watched the video, you'll notice that I am rather calm about what I'm saying and nonchalant about the comments from chat. I really did not understand how South everything had gone.
I hope this clarifies things a bit, though I likely hope in vain. I do want to state that the things I said were from me, and my own mistakes, and that playhem has the best casters I've ever had the privilege to work with, who shouldn't all be painted with this brush.
To all those of you who tried to explain and continued to support I sincerely thank you for your efforts though I was in the wrong for ever even trying to make such jokes.Yes he did.
Bold for serious.
I'm not gonna push it and say what I think about his apology because I'll probably get banned. Sure, I'll take it as sincere so long as he doesn't pull this stuff again.

Kaku earned himself +1 loyal follower this day.
noone would have a problem if he was publicly slamming deezer. And what katu said was very vague and actually completely factually accurate, as far as vague insinuations can be.

I guess the offer to fly dragon to IPL 4 is a publicity stunt since he already has a huge fanbase but it just seems dumb it's being offered on the grounds of an apology.
If we're apologizing by spending thousands of dollars flying players who got their name slightly tarnished(IE not really to be honest, only Katu's reputation was genuinely harmed) then we're not really understanding what happened at all

Wrong. He made 2 explicit claims that were false, and im not talking about implying that he was stream cheating. He doesn't even know his facts about the old stream cheat scandal. Of course, if you had read the last couple pages instead of what I assume is just the OP you would realize this.

"These are just some of the words I would use to describe a certain cast from Playhem TV. Although i have not done my research,"
Why the hell would you write a thread like this without researching it first? You could have flamed the caster as bad as you're accusing him of doing to Dragon. God.
I don't care whether he did or didn't, research it first.

After swearing at a teacher and spreading false sexual harrassment rumors about him, i get caught lying. I issue an apology saying i was just trolling. is that acceptable??
If katu manned up and apologize about everything he said and NOT use trolling as an excuse, i would accept the apology.
but as it stands now, im never watching katu cast another game.

IK watched the video and compared it to historical facts. they match. could you state the explicit claims that you think are incorrect? I've read every page here.
here's the parts of the previouis page that stand out for me.

Katu didnt issue an apology, he made an excuse saying he was just trolling. That is not an apology. So he jumped before he was pushed, big deal.

I wonder if the korean forums will pick up on this. They sure as hell won't be so forgiving of Dragon.

gained +1 and lost -100 not worth it bro

Hey Katu, you want to BM me so Playhem sends me to IPL4? I'd love to see Vegas!
Katu was definitely out of line, pretty stupid of him to be honest. Not sure why anyone would ever say that in a cast. Nice gesture of Playhem to send him to IPL4 though.

It's been a long time since the sc community raised its pitchforks. I watched the controversial part of the VOD, and eventhough it's unprofessional from the caster it's not that big of a deal. It's pretty obvious that he was mostly trolling, it's a mistake of course but he even apologizes at the end of the video. We should also remember that these guys are doing this on their free time, probably for little to no money, so we shouldn't expect the same level of profesionnalism from them than from "mainstream casters". Good luck to Katu in the future, after watching the video he seems like a nice guy.

You people make it sound like he just killed your parents and you want to hang him... so he talked shit about someone playing a VIDEO GAME. Get over it. Pathetic lives you people live.

The decision for Katu to step back from casting my events was a mutual decision we reached while discussing the controversy at hand.
Katu currently casts more than most (I would say all, but that tends to get people in trouble) casters out there, and pours an insane amount of work into any project he's involved in. I think the community should take a moment to realize this, and when someone is casting more than most people work a full-time job it's something to admire. Sure he made a mistake, everyone does it once or twice, but give him a second chance.

People who willingly troll believing to be awesome/cool/clever guys deserve alle the shit they get... They should give him another chance tho (if he stops with the attitude he said he usually has)

Everyone screws up. The Playhem and Katu responses seem to be sincere and I see no further issue with this incident. As long as Katu gets his act together I'll personally pretend like it didn't happen.

He said that he is banned from playing tournaments for cheating, he isn't banned from any tournament. He said he was kicked out of SlayerS because of the cheating incident, when he wasn't even a member of SlayerS until after that whole mess and only recently left of his own accord to find a foreign team (SlayerS facebook page). Considering how long ago the actual event happened, it wouldn't even make sense to be kicked out of slayers for it, he left like what, a month ago?

Actually no. He completely lied about the reason Dragon left SlayerS and the whole stream-cheating history (it's not a mystery as Katu said it was- the explanation of Dragon's old scandal is even on his Liquidpedia page). So Katu was being ignorant and slanderous. And his apology was just focused on the fact that people got pissed at him, not because of the underlying reason why. That kind of disturbs me.
EDIT: Here, under "Controversy": http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Dragon . Katu is unbelievably wrong. Has nothing to do with SlayerS.

Dragons scandal was before he even joined slayers. He was still in werra. Slayers recruited him and he was in the gsl open as practicing partner for boxer.
He left slayers 1.2 years later on his own terms, looking for a foreign team. Now people like you who believes what katu says is hurting his chances of landing a team.
