We get it you weren't going to pay to watch but still wanted to watch so you by other means procured the chance to see the tournament. jeez, everybody pirates at some point but please lay off with the justifications and admit that you cheated the system and any kind of customer/seller trust to get what you wanted. At least I can respect people who know they pirated and just don't care, btw you guys should be politicians.
"Did you pirate the signal?" "Define pirating please.."
Yeah seriously. The shitty act doesn't bother me nearly as much as the intellectual dishonesty people will use to justify being shitty.

I didn't even have to do that, adblock and no script gave it to me free. Wasn't like I was going to run away screaming in a moral fit when I realized I didn't have to pay. It's like building a hockey rink with no walls then complaining when people watch the game from the street.
Or putting up a slide, with a sign at the bottom that says you own $5.

lack of crowd. My god I wish there was one but this was a trial so I have no qualms.
i think next time we need something a little more for the money, i don't know what. but just something a little more. that being said 20 bucks seemed reasonable for the weekend. very satisfied.
Well, I will have to disagree/agree with you here. yeah lack of crowd sucked but to me 20 bucks didn't seem reasonable for this(I still payed this as a 1st time thing) but really the content was not really that much when compared to Gom, the Vods suck atm(seriously have you watched them? SOme of them cut even before the match ends) and the HD sucked on the final day.
Still 1stworldproblems but I do think they overcharged a lot for this. That being said I did enjoy the event but if they did a similar event again i doubt I would pay 20 bucks again

Obviously it has the most puritan moderators when someone questions the integrity of holy team liquid. In all honesty I didn't even know about this private bug that was being exploited by Reddit. I simply just watched the stream from twitch.tv assuming MLG had a heart and made it free... until now.

Exactly, so many poor kids who don't understand that if we don't pay, MLG dies. Hell, it could very well die anyway. I'm pretty sure the majority of the SC2 community is smart enough to figure out how to watch it for free if they wanted to.... If MLG wants to incur absurd costs by paying fringe benefits (plane tickets, accommodations, etc) to all of their participants, fine, but that cost is far too high for me to support. I am not going to shell out $20 for every special event MLG wants to put on. MLG needs a larger viewing audience for this PPV model scheme to work. They don't have it, and so it will, as of now, probably fail. If it failed, Sundance wouldn't have come on stream and announced they are having 2 more next season.
You can't be serious right? You can't have a SINGLE point on an experiment like this. Especially when it collided with Assembly. The only way they wouldn't of announced others is if it COMPLETELY bombed. Like 100 purchases or something. Anyone could've told you that wasn't going to be the case because there are more than that amount that just want to blindly throw money at MLG. You'll know failure if you don't see any in 2013. This year I doubt that they'll do anything better than just barely covering the costs of each event. That might be all they want, to just expand their brand on the viewers dime.
Again this is about long term sustainability and you don't find out that information by just holding ONE event. Once that new car smell wears off, will be the true test.

Just reading this lol'ing at the people who are justifying pirating this. It's the same as people's excuses for pirating games. MLG decided to put a price tag on this event; if you don't think the product is worth it, or can't afford it, then you simly have no right to view it. There is no moral justification possible to back you up. If you watched it without paying, the least you can do is accept that you're in the wrong for doing it.
For those of you who were simply not prompted to pay: Well, I can't blame you for that. That's just shoddy work by MLG and Twitch.

Honestly I find the lack of integrity to be fucking appalling. You're not smart, you're not clever, you're just another fucker who will do whatever you can get away with.
This here is the reason democracy fails, that banks fuck people over, that people lose their houses the list goes on and on. Because people will happily exploit other people and then be proud of themselves for doing it.
Look, there's a little old lady, quick mug her for her fucking pension cheque. It's her fault for not having a tazer and being old and frail.
If it's not worth the money, don't fucking watch. If you watch for free when MLG are specifically trying to make it PPV, and I don't care how you fucking do it, bad pay wall, restream, whatever, you have no fucking integrity and should be fucking ashamed of yourself. But honestly, if you were, I'd be cool with that. But you're not, you're oh so proud of how cleaver you are for ripping someone off. Pricks. Maybe when you're walking home and some arsehole runs you over cause he's so proud of how he can drive on the nature strip and avoid the traffic jam and then you'll rethink how awesome you are. But probably not.
