Hope this works out for them in the long run; seems like having Assembly the same weekend and the VODs becoming available only a week later could really hammer their numbers. Still might buy, depending on who's casting, though.

This seems reasonable to me, given all the content that MLG is planning to present. People need to keep in mind that no one possesses entitlement to 100% free tournament streams for every event.

Wow $20 is a lot. I think that is a bit high. I understand their cost side of it, but I think they to establish more goodwill to the fans in order to justify the $20.

They make a good point though, $20 is twice the cost of a movie, and you are getting 20 hours of entertainment, not 2.

totally worth it for the ammount of talent they have coming. You've watched crappier movies for 10$ before.
edit; they should have contests or something that gives away free passes ;/
there are hardcore fans out there that can't afford this

I expected this from MLG but guys, bad timing.
First time PPV event at the same time as Assembly. It's not a hard choice for most people.

I guess it's good for Assembly and maybe this way Assembly will get many more viewers and the two events can be compared and it will be the perfect example for free tournament streams>PPV.

Its not a huge amount of cash. It is a huge amount of content. I'm in.

And if you're so incredibly strapped that you can't afford £20 for something you love, then you have bigger problems than can be addressed by posting on Teamliquid about how unfair it is that you have to wait a week to watch the same content for free via VOD.
