I think the biggest decline of viewers will be the younger viewers, as they will probably have to ask their parents, and i guess alot of parents think that paying to watch a "game" is a waste if time and therefore wont let their kids watch it.

Yeah.. definitely not paying as I am just a poor student. I am very interested to see will this be a bust or will a sufficient amount of people actually pay for it to cover the costs. MLG is taking a venture to the newborn ice, but will the ice hold or will MLG sink?

From what I can gather, the real issue isn't the PPV model or the price tag. It's the fact that MLG Gold members have to pay additional money to watch this event on top of their yearly(?) payment. Gold members might want to consider getting a refund for their remaining time and just just paying for MLG events on a event basis. (MLG stated they will have HD stream passes on sale for each championship event).

It just feels like we are getting nickel and dimed at every corner. Oh, and $20 for HD of an online only 3 day event...? -_-

as good as last mlg events were, i still remember dallas 2011 fiasco. or 2010 national championships.

$20 is too much imo especially with assembly going on at the same time. $10 is more reasonable. I'll be sad that I'm not watching this MLG event.

Yeah, I guess that's why they had a thread asking for what games we would want streamed, since the list of qualified players was set to be released anyway. Just seems pretty pointless to schedule the broadcast date the day you announce the list of players.

Oh god, I hope the other major tournaments do not follow suit. I understand the tournaments need to do this for the sake of financial viability, but I had been hoping that there would have been other ways. Oh well.

i don't understand your mentality at all. totally okay with people being upset that this isn't offered for free, but to call it a 'scam' is ridiculous. MLG is a business.

Well I'll be watching Assembly then

I'm a young poor swedish student, paying 20 dollars per event is not sustainable for me and I think there's a lot of people like me out there. And also with the unfortunate collide with Assembly, this might just hurt MLG very much.
