![[image loading]](http://us.media4.battle.net/cms/gallery/FH4S9OGX7R9M1328917643301.jpg) The forthcoming release of RISK: StarCraft will see players choose from the terran, protoss, or zerg factions and six unique heroes before going head to head in this board game classic. The struggles portrayed in the real-time strategy of StarCraft adapt perfectly to classic tabletop RISK gameplay, and the winner will be determined by astute deployment of military might and strategic field tactics. RISK: StarCraft will include three play modes and sports over 290 custom playing pieces. The game launches this summer and will be available in specialty stores throughout North America with a suggested retail price of $49.45. ![[image loading]](http://us.media4.battle.net/cms/gallery/7QFVGG6K4FIA1328917449011.jpg) Descend into a world of myth, magic, and legendary adventure to battle for control of World of Warcraft’s iconic locations. Featuring custom graphics from our artists and designers, the Monopoly game’s land grab includes coveted real estate such as Twilight Highlands, Grizzly Hills, and the Swamp of Sorrows. In the rush to rule over the faction capitals of Orgrimmar and Stormwind, players will roll Alliance- and Horde-themed dice, and feverishly buy, sell and trade in true MONOPOLY fashion, until one player controls the lands and vanquishes all comers. The game retails for $39.95 and will be available in May at specialty stores across North America. These games will formally debut at the 109th annual Toy Fair this Sunday, February 12 in New York City.

So blizzard, just announced a World Of Warcraft Monopoly and a Starcraft Risk, I think this is actually pretty cool!
I am pretty sure I will buy the risk, I also would like if they could release a starcraft version for the ipad as nowadays is where I play risk more but I doubt it!
Also, it seems there is a poll on facebook to choose which player pieces will make it onto the monopoly, nothing of that sort for the starcraft game.
|
I'd prefer to play those games in custom games on the game itself.
|
I love both of these games, but it's really hard to find people who want to sit down for 5 hours to play them til the end... T__T

as for risk, if you can play it on an ipad, it is much much quicker. Of course, it is more fun with the real game and all, but for quick games it is awesome!
|
I am totally buying that Risk! I would like it to play out like Risk Legacy, because I think that is a little more strategic than normal Risk.
|
Personally I find this laughable. ActiBlizz is milking as much from WC/SC as possible. EDIT: Apparently I'm hating on Blizz for this, when I just don't see a point in paying 2x the price of a risk game.
|
My parents bought me Risk when i was little for christmass, but its soooo long noone in the family wanted to play a game torugh after the first one, they destroyed my childhood !
|
I'm gonna buy that Risk 100%, can't wait to see it in the stores

Yeah, the problem with risk is the fact that you can lose a game, or just make it so the chances of you winning are very slim, then have it go on for hours; which is a problem, because it's hard to play a game for hours when you know that you loss is inevitable.

If people are gonna buy it why not? That's just smart business.
I don't really get why people have hostile reactions to stuff like this. Its not like having a risk game is gonna hurt starcraft.
|
this sounds pretty cool. wonder how the miniatures are gonna look for the game. I'll probably end up getting it.

Everything that generates money is not smart business. Also "hostile reactions" wat?

it really amazes me that people can hate on blizzard because of this

$50 for a risk board?
It'd be cool if someone makes a custom version of it, though, lol.
|
Hmm why not play SC2 normally and RISK normally? This just feels too simple, just switch cannons to siege tanks, infantry to marines/zerglings etc. it's an already established game but with other units :/

wtf are you people talking about, there are tons of themed board games...
|
Are these board games or computer games? I could not figure that out.
|
Board games, obviously....
And fuck monopoly. How that terrible game became popular is beyond me.

However I think I might just stick with my lord of the rings monopoly

I cant help think that this is a ploy from activision to get blizz to milk the community for money, i swore i will never buy a blizz game again and i might have to keep that promise because im broke and cant buy hots anyways D:

Hahaha I can't believe people are hating so much, it's some board games coming out that you can play for shits and giggles, not like they're announcing their new upcoming E-sports game...
People just take things way too seriously these days. Either you buy one and have fun with your friends or you don't. How could you possibly react negatively to this?
"omg they're just trying to milk money" oh really? That's what every company does, not every thing they release has to be the next leading game of the year you know?

there is a starcraft board game....Brood War board game...Warcraft III board game....WoW board game +2 expansion board games....WoW trading card game (most if not all of these came out before the activision/blizzard stuff....at least the sc, scbw, wc3, and original wow board game did)
also theme board games have been around forever
but yea dude, it's totally Activision/Blizzard totally being evil
|
That Risk game is so cool looking, I will buy it for sure to go with my SC the board game and expansion I already have form Fantasy Flight.
WoW monopoly is the lamest idea I've ever heard though... WoW could be transformed into a better tabletop than that...

That being said, cheating is encouraged, but being caught cheating will find u in jail and the other players decide what sort of punishment should be dealt

so how's this going to work
when a zerg attacks is he going to have to roll a fistful of d4s while the terran rolls a single d20

The risk looks sick but i wonder if i will be able to get it in australia
|
I don't get why they didn't do Warcraft Risk, would've made much more sense imo.
|
I already have a starcraft boardgame but im probably going to buy this one too. The one i have has rather complex rules so its hard to find people to play with, because it takes atleast two hours to explain how it works (sounds familiar huh?). Risk on the other hand is easy and most people have played it before.
|
Risk: Starcraft is gonna be awesome and I'll probably buy it. Not even a big fan of Monopoly, so I won't even go there.
|
The risk game sounds great! I may just get one for fun lol
|
board games are expensive as shit now a days huh? 50 bucks? I swore I paid like 20 bucks for risk when I bought it as a kid.
That being said, it does look cool.... just not 50 dollar on a board game cool.

I know, I have it coming in the mail soon. I was sad that I didn't win the contest though...
|
i love risk and i love starcrafts. will most likely buy even if i was a bit disappointed with blizz for the past years x.x

I just got my copy from my distributor last night. It has two sets of each race of pieces, which are awesome. I just don't really have anyone to play with.

So I used to play a ton with my buddies back home, but since moving my circle of gamer friends has significantly diminished. I still have other new board games that I bought years ago that I have never had a chance to play, but fuck it, I just board games and I am going to still buy them. Sooner or later my son will be old enough to play. Haha.

I really want to buy (SC2 Risk)this but only if Its fun to play. If any of you have it please record a youtube copy and share so I can see the gameplay. Is it just like the old risk with new ways to play or has it completly changed. I loved (still love) the classic Risk and play all the time.
please post your experiences!

I'm definitely gonna give it a try ^^
