UI still sub-par 2 years later. Why don't we care? - Page 28

im really not sure of the exact ownership structure of blizzard, but the market cap is 14 billion. collectively, we could purchase a 51% share, should it be available.. for a mere $7,140,000,000 ![]() http://www.google.com/finance?q=NASDAQ:ATVI

If we keep on pressing the issue everywhere (TL, Reddit, Bnet Forums) we surely can get an official response from Blizzard if not more! So keep on posting guys So if we are persistent, we will get what we want, but there will be rocks all over it?

I never stopped thinking the UI was bad I just gave up on it getting fixed. I fear that Blizzard in it's developement of starcraft 2 wasn't thinking "What can we do to make esports better?" Must have been on a different account... I was just listening (again) through Idra and Tasteless's early critique of Battlenet 0.2 and whatever happened to that marketplace and LAN tournament feature? With no marketplace the current restrictions kill the custom game community for no reason and at this point it'll be too late anyways. No-one's going to be left in the ums community to make money off this mythical marketplace. Even if they kept the things the way they are and did add marketplace, I don't think it's worth it. In theory yes, but it was implemented all wrong and we would be better off going back to Battlenet 1.0- any map you want, any size, any number, any time. How's that for a marketing feature? And LAN tournament- if we're looking for something that's limiting the skill level of players, I would look at Battlenet latency. Most of the cool micro tricks in past games only worked with LAN latency- I wonder if we're missing out on awesome gameplay because this- mind you as Idras said, if pro's practice on one type of latency and tournaments on another, that's a problem. But the problem is that Blizzard has taken out certain features and said in exchange we'll give you these other cool things. But those cool things never materialized or a shadow of their former versions. So we exchanged awesome for nothing. I don't think it's too late. Blizzard has another shot at bringing out Battlenet 2.0 from whereever they've been hiding it in HotS. They possibly have a third life with the Protoss campaign, but I wouldn't count on it. After that, they're out of mans. If HotS is being delayed partially for a huge overhaul of 0.2, I'd be very happy. Edit. I haven't been on 0.2 for such a long time- did they ever start embedding big tournament streams into the opening menu like LoL does? Might have been my imagination, but I thought I read they were going to do something like that. But that's one thing that would truly make it 2.0 and knock 1.0 out of the park.

Battle.net 0.2 just feels like a lackluster, all the people I know from WC3 has stopped playing SC2, myself included, all my friends IRL who bought SC2 has stopped playing it and continued on to other games. Nowadays I just stop by TL to maybe watch some high profile tournament. Then we have the other problem with the UMS scene for SC2, the editor is a horrible mess. All the mappers I know from WC3 were super excited for it and the new limits it would create but then when it was finally released everyone just saw the mess it is and gave up, it is just not worthwhile to work with it. The WC3 mapping scene evolved until the release of SC2 due to mods for the editor being created, I have barely seen a easily workable mod for the SC2 editor to be created to this date and the editor haven't evolved. We need to do something more than complaining, we need to vote with our wallet, we need to create a petition stating that we won't buy a single new Blizzard game until Battle.net 0.2 has been fixed to our liking. That is the only way we will get Blizzard to listen since nowadays they just care about the money.
