Great, thanks a lot. The list of links in the OP - videos, concepts, blogs, images - has already been added to the existing threads on the official english forums. Feel free to just copy & paste them to add them to your post on the polish boards.

A couple minor ideas that occurred to me: - Auto-login option, requires a 'logout' menu option - Rclick to join lobby of friend (ala steam) A "Find Tournament" button, in addition to our "Find Match". System puts you in a queue and creates a 8/16/32 man tournament with players of similar MMR's. Once a tourney is found, it takes you to a beautiful lobby screen that has the bracket, settings for the different rounds, map pool, etc. Completely automated by bnet, similar to playing in sit-n-go tourneys on popular poker programs. A "Practice Ladder" button. Lets you also choose the race of your opponent, what map you want to practice on. Based off your MMR, has no impact on "Ranked" ladder points and your MMR.
oh yes pleeeease!

Im translating this anyway. A lot of polish players know english, but not all of them, so translation is needed.
great topic btw!

Wow, I didn't realise how much of a step down Battle.net 2.0 took from 1.0.
This is actually pretty disgusting. Having the drop-in channels and tournament system integrated into SC2 would give me so much more motivation to play the game :S

Blizzard is losing so many players because of this problem.
I know ~10 people myself who played WC3 for a super long time because of custom games. They all gave up on SC2 and quit it awhile ago.

Im heartbroken by battle.net 2.0....When I bought Sc2 sooo long ago I was expecting really advanced and cool features but.,..Yeah.
1+ to OP, PLEASE Blizz, fix it!!

Lol, I'd be back to playing hours a day if they implemented that.

The facebook integration would probably be a good thing.. if it did anything. I mean if you could chat to people on Facebook while playing a game? Surely that's integration. not just the ability to search for email addresses...

I totally agree with the points raised in the OP. I loved playing custom games (UMS) in SC:BW, and also did quite some bit of customs in WC3. In SC2, I completely lost interest for them, as what is available is frankly not very interesting. And even worse, it's still basically the same maps that were available a year ago. This is the biggest reason of why I keep losing interest in actually playing the game. I was playing UMS in SC:BW for years and years, and kept coming back. WC3 custom games were the most popular to play during our LAN's back in high school. We tried playing some SC2 for a while, but quickly went over to games like LoL, were you actually can have fun playing around. By now almost all my friends have stopped playing SC2 completely.
I'm fine with the leagues and think the UI overall is kind of okay (except for chats, which obviously are horrible). And even though I doubt I would use it much, a clan system and automated tournaments would be a great addition.

Yeah, the SC2 UI is definitely lacking. It's not so much an argument but more so a universally accepted fact. Watching Husky's vid about the W3 UI made me realize just how much the SC2 one is lacking.
And for fuck's sake, It is retardedly stupid how you cannot make multiple accounts in SC2, like to change your name or offrace and shit. I understand Blizzard's logic behind it: "if you want to play, get a legit game copy" but it still makes everyone else suffer.
And why, why, why do they not have an automated tournament system for the different leagues. What would be the reason to remove this feature? And yes, Bnet 2.0 also fucked the custom map scene. I remember some of the most beautiful, most creative, and most fun maps back in W3. SC2's editor is about 1000x more powerful than the W3 one. I remember some beta vids with Blizz boasting you can make entire games in the editor. First person shooters. Racers. There have been a number of good mods, to give credit to the community but mostly all I see are a few half-assed clones of former W3 maps. I'm waiting for StarCraft: Universe to come out. If it ever hits Bnet, it's going to be the complete baller shit. And I'm hoping to see more polished maps with custom skins and shit but I don't know if it'll ever happen.
Basically, I agree with everything the OP said in his post. We all care(silently) but I think it's Blizz that is reluctant to listen to community input, or chooses not to.

These threads spread out across the community have been the best stand that I have seen regarding Battle-Net and what we expect from Blizzard. Most of the other similar threads I have seen never seem to last and are always swept under the rug.
Great job guys, we will get through to them and I am sure we will have some type of response after the weekend. And if not well..... shame on Blizzard
Edit: Please post on your regions forums, all links are posted in the OP. Even just a quick +1 or a like could go a long way

Well said OP! Really hope Blizzard is listening!

I'm pretty sure blizzard has at most 3 people working on SC2 at a time. How else to explain the glacial speed with which the game develops? It's such a shame, that a game with this big and active a community are stuck with such a lackluster development-team. Even sadder, no-one with a voice in the community dares to speak out out of fear of lost opportunities.
|
I agree the most with [F_]aths' and StartingCrafty's posts. Also, taking out so many of the old features seems like an effective way to have the community explain which features should be in SC2 and why. I also agree that it feels very lonely on SC2, and that SC2's UI is pretty bad. However, it's hard to make a good UI, and what's good or bad is very subjective. Blizzard probably can't use Goblinoid's design due to some legal reason or other, and while the featureset is great in his design, there are many nitpicky things it can improve on, in my opinion. Anyway, these things will take a lot of time, it's not as simple as "just tak[ing] the one from Warcraft 3".
There were also some posts about it being hard to add friends on B.net 2.0, because /f a <name> doesn't work anymore, and non-unique names also contribute to it not working anymore... but adding friends is actually very easy now. You can add anyone you've played a game with through the score screen, and anyone who's said anything to you through private or public chat, anyone who's in the same channel you are (right-click menu), and anyone through their profile (tiny camouflaging "Add as friend" button near the top). So, for a working example, if I wanted to stalk megumixbear, because I really admire her, I can look at GoSuDDE's profile from the Grandmaster ladder (since I already follow her on twitter, I know they've played together in team games.), and see his Leagues & Ladders for the current season, look for the team where he plays with megumixbear, and click on her name on the highlighted entry. There, I can see her profile, and add her as friend through the button. Easy, though maybe a little creepy.

There's plenty of room for improvement with Battle.net. And it has been a long time since they did anything... Although I would like for them to be careful about updating their content, there's only one thing I'm dissatisfied at the moment. When the game starts, it needs a count-down. I don't like it when you're trying to guess when the game starts so you can split your workers. It needs at least a 5 sec countdown. For a game based around competition, I thought such technicality would be addressed.
I'm really hoping Battlenet will be updated when new games come out. Which should be soon. I guess Blizzard only add new content when they release new games or something, I don't know.

I think because battle.net 2.0 was created from scratch, they did pass over a couple of things to focus on others, such as making the whole thing work in the first place. Although it doesn't touch up on many of the issues that was in the open post, they were supposed to be added.
One case was the chat channels that everyone had wanted so badly. They put them in, but they weren't the greatest thing. I'm actually hoping, or expecting them to keep developing battle.net 2.0. It has been made to reach out to everyone across the blizzard gaming universe after all, and I'm pretty sure most people play more than one of their games.
I, would personally love to see a clan system, online tournaments, and an emphasis on custom made material. Really hoping blizzard starts taking these steps to expand the life of the game, and not just relying on the expansions to do that.
