What the fuck. If the times don't fit you then you don't accept the invitation. If there are going to be players with large time differences playing then chances are not everybody will be able to play when they would like to. This may be new to some of you kids but you don't get everything you want in this world. The sooner you accept that and deal with it the better.

No one forced Stephano to accept the invite to the tournament. He agreed to do so, knowing what time it was scheduled for. He agreed to sign up for 2 overlapping tournaments, knowing the schedules of both. ONOG started even later than necessary on his behalf, he was the one who asked them to delay and was taking random breaks.

ONOG is not responsible for managing Stephano's schedule. The only people who are are Stephano himself and possibly his team. He agreed to do ONOG, knowing full well his schedule and the schedules of all the tournaments. If staying up past his bed time was such a huge issue, he could have declined. He could have left the tournament spot open to another player, one who could schedule his time properly and actually play in the tournament he agreed to play in.

In no way is this anyone's fault but Stephano's. ONOG handled it extremely well, especially considering what a shitty situation he put them in. The only thing poorly managed here was Stephano's own management of his own time.

it's not like Stephano is coming back saying THIS IS UNFAIR HOW COULD YOU PUT ME IN 4th PLACE.

he made a decision, got punished for it, and dealt with it, and now it's over.

What people do not understand is that he is a "pro" gamer. Meaning this is his profession/job, and if he wants to be classified as a professional you need to act it and suck it up when your tired. Here is an example i am in law enforcement and so is my father, we are held to high standards of professionalism. My dad for about 10 years had anywhere from 3-5 extra jobs that he would work throughout the week to make the money he wanted. Was my dad tired and want to sleep after he got done working for the police department? YES of course he did, did he suck it up because security and law enforcement were his professions? YES of course he did. The point im trying to make is dont call yourself a professional if your not going to act like it when you take on a burden and you end up not keeping your word. A professional should act as one and work like one, this from stephano was NOT professional at all and he got penalized correctly for it!

Yeah, screw that. Lets play in a US tourney on times that WE like (im european as well). Like around ~18:oo, that would be lovely. Okay, the american barcraft-crowd for the tournament would have to drink their beer at around 9 in the morning, but who cares, right? Because the AMERICAN tournament made stephano play at PST, not CET, which is completely stupid, i agree. Every tournament should be played on CET.

You cant be serious.

The only one being a douche and playing hardball is Stephano.

He joined 2 tournaments knowing full well there will be schedule conflicts.
He requested a 45 min break, which ONOG granted, even though ONOG also pushed back his matches' start time.
ONOG offered him an alternative of playing the games first, then casting them later, which Stephano outright refused.
Stephano demaned his games be played at another day or he forfeits, citing "too tired" as a reason, then promptly logged off.

Yeah, it's totally the organizers fault. They disrupted his beauty sleep time.

It's not over. There are thousands of Protoss out there with pitchforks by their pc waiting for retribution over Stephano's ultimate deathball and retribution for Naniwa's probe rush debacle. They will be watching Stephano's every move

He's a non pro gamer, in a non pro team, who play's non pro tournaments, with non pro casters, in a non pro worldwide gaming organisation.

He's at his own place, don't you think so? (Arguments required)

Get over it guys.
What upsets you is that Stephano actually don't give a fuck about this whole story and that it won't change anything for future tournaments because they (future tournaments) needs him for bringing show and viewers. ONOG is a poor casualty, one among a whole bunch of tournaments.
People would like to believe that there is some kind of justice punishing this behavior, but you know it won't work : Stephano is the shining player of the moment. Invite Stephano in a tournament and you double your viewership (numbers comes from nowhere...)

Why is it that most of all successful (when i say succesful i take the 5 first non koreans guys of sc2earnings) foreigners are badass bitches? Idra, Naniwa, Stephano; they just are so good (in a foreigner perspective) that they can do whatever they want, it won't change the fact (short terms speaking) that they have 10k viewers everytime they put their stream on. Of course they should think about not going too far, but, imo, this event will be forgotten quite quickly.
Is it good or bad? I don't know, but it's not surprising me.

Do not start this stuff. Its a whos dick is bigger discussion.
Well my daddy will kick your ass, well my daddy will kick your ass.
The point of what you just said is completly irrevelent.

Over talking about something creates drama.
This drama is in my honest opinion shameful of the community.
The action of Stephano, yes unprofessional, but the comments, and racial slurs, are an even worse example of ourselves.

It's still worthwhile to point when someone behaves like a douche.. it may catch up and make tournament organizers and sponsors too look at who are they dealing with who knows, but yeah douches are gonna act like douches no matter what everyone says. This is just an indicator of how early is the e-sports scene really is and how young and immature most of the fans really are -- someone were calling him a boss for behaving like a total asshole heh -- I think in other sports he would have paid dearly for what he did either in fines, sponsorships or in fan backslash.

Please stop saying "other sports". Starcraft is a video game. Tourney organizers and sponsors dont care about the players or the viewers, all they care about is sales and profits. If anything I enjoy the small/less professionnal tournaments and events more, because there's not such a big presence of sponsors, ads and all that garbage. They dont give birth to so much drama either, casters are more relaxed and not as restricted in what they can say.

These threads remind me of those gossip magazines about hollywood stars and their antics.

100% of the non-subjective content of your post is false. That's usually indicative of a problem.

It is really bad from stephano to be honest. Lost a lot of respect for him. He basically ruined their entire event singlehandedly.
