Sorry, not knowing for a fact. These were just my assumptions!

It's a real shame. I really hope BW players switch over, and the scene follows. Otherwise it looks like we may end up with the Korean scene wilting.

You MUST be high bro, cause that's simply wrong. The Korean starcraft scene isn't going anywhere, ever. I'd expect every other nation in the world to completely forget about starcraft and not even know of it's existence before the Koreans even decide to drop it from National Television. And about the "with only 5 GSLs per year" bit... It's the single most prestigious tournament in the WORLD and has more tournaments then any other "major" tournament system (MLG, DH, NASL, IEM, ect.). Words can't express how wrong your post is... Just. Wrong.

I think he is talking about sc2, and from what i have gathered the sc2 scene is stronger outside of korea, at least if you look at sponsors etc....

But honestly, I'd rather listen to the OP than Huk in this situation. No disrespect to him at all, but until numbers come out about 1) what he makes, 2) what MC makes, and 3) all the other subtleties of the Ks (prize money, travel, etc...) I'll stick to listening to potentially disinterested anonymous sources rather than very interested known ones. I wouldn't blame you for doing different, though.

As for the salary discussion; Can't really argument on any side until numbers are out. Good luck in the new team MC!

He said in an interview when first joining EG that he didn't care if anyone knew what he made but would refrain from telling because EG and TL may not appreciate that. It doesn't hurt HuK any for people to believe he is worth a lot of money. He just seems to be clearing up a mistake. Also, do we have verification that that is HuK?

It doesn't hurt HuK any for people to believe he is worth a lot of money. He just seems to be clearing up a mistake. Also, do we have verification that that is HuK? MC and Huk are both great players. However, it's pretty clear that MC is both the more accomplished player, and the player who's doing better at Starcraft 2 at the moment. He just won HSCIV, and he's currently in Code S. Additionally, he's one of the best showmen in the sport, so we're not dealing with an antisocial prodigy here. So, if Huk were really making 10 times as much as MC, many people would say MC is getting too little or Huk is getting too much. At least in my opinion, having threads talking about Huk and MC's relative worth would not be beneficial for Huk. Again, I'm more inclined to trust anonymous sources over known professionals and casters when it comes the business of SC2. But please don't think I'm going to scream at you to convert you to my point of view, or that I'm talking down to you in any way.

MC currently makes 1 billion dollars a day. Believe me, because I'm anonymous and disinterested. Excellent point. Anonymous sources can say whatever they want with no consequences, and can make stories up to amuse themselves or cause trouble. So, you need to look 1) at whether what the source say is plausible and rings true, 2) whether they have a proven track record, and 3) if what they say is backed up by other members of the community or if parts of their stories can be compared to known facts. You're correct in suggesting that I can't know certainly whether the source is telling the truth, but you can hardly ever be sure of anything.
