This is my personal belief, probably jaded by the fact that I personally put $1,400 out of my own pocket to send KawaiiRice to the event.

If Twitch is putting $5,000 towards the tournament as a big grassroots / community thing, which is basically what HSC is, splitting it amongst all the players makes the most sense.

It'd be great to know that KawaiiRice can come home with something, after all. The people who don't advance out of the first group stage are done... nothing to do for the rest of the 3 days.. Also, there are some really strong players like HasuObs and Thorzain and Ret who are already out.

Might as well have a side tournament for like $3,000 for the Group Stage losers... and then split the remaining $2,000 to the main tournament pot.

That would be the best way. Let the 'losers' have more to play for!

$100 to each player = $3200.

3 x 2 x $100 for the 3 best games of the tournament (both winners and losers get the $100) = $600.

The remaining $1200 spent on beer/food and HSC5.

IMO it should be saved for the next event. Spreading it across all the players is decent idea also.

Showmatches decided by fans could be interesting. Winner wins some money.

Homestory Series of Poker!! Only bad thing is that there wouldn't be a Pokerbrat there since A) Phil Hellmuth wasn't invited B) Idra couldn't make it.

That's a great idea, and would get my vote. That or HSC5.

split to all sounds good.
I think 100 to all then the rest to the top 8 to split

Twitch hijacking this tournament is quite a poor move. They could come forward with the money before it was successfully running.

You realise they were sponsoring it from the beginning, right? They've just decided to add more.

Finally a sane poll that offers to share equally the money.

But I find it wierd that twitch gives this money that way. Nobody remembers who gave the first 15000$ of the prize pool but now Twitch gets all the fame for the 5000$ :/ Good initiative anyways but a bit wierd.

Have you watched the stream? XMG and the other sponsors of HSCIV get a lot of exposure (product demo, ads etc)

They should secretly assign it all to second place, and when MarineKing starts crying, they surprise him.

Very nice

I love this idea, it looks like a nice spread to me.
