if it is drg that would be amazing for EG!

God, I hope DRG was just trolling. Stealing DRG from MvP is like the worst thing EG could do short of stealing HerO from TeamLiquid.

Today I learned that if Player A goes to Team B, then it's always stealing, and a gross violation of morals and ethics.

Thanks Virgil.

Well, there's a huge difference between negotiating a trade between a player who wants to be on a foreign team (Like Sleep) versus throwing piles of cash at a player that likes his current team environment and has risen to stardom on that team.

I'm not an EG anti-fan for any reason, but coercing DRG away from MvP is just bad taste no matter how I look at it.

I don't see why it would be bad taste? DRG needs the money. EG needs the players. Everyone wins.

Neither party actually NEEDS those things. Sure, they may want them, but it's not a necessity. EG could have had a much better business deal signing JYP or Sleep for much less than they would have had to offer DRG to leave MvP.

Short and simple, EG likes to sign great players because they can't develop them.

EDIT: This is all simply theoretical. I still think JYP is going to EG, not DRG.

Lol EG cant develop players? Seriously just knock it off. Just because they have signed great players doesnt mean they cant develop players.

People should be happy for the new recruit because it means this player is getting paid good money and will have every opportunity to play in tournaments worldwide. Everyone agrees players need to be treated better. Guess what? EG treats their players great. They support them as much as any team, if not more.

I have trouble thinking of a player that EG has plucked from the sea of players and helped them rise to stardom based on their results. That might just be me, but perhaps EG CAN train players to greatness, but I don't think they've succeeded yet.

I'm not saying EG treats players poorly or that they don't support their players. I think EG's success and marketability is something to be proud of, it's unheard of for any other team out there right now. It says a lot that iNcontroL has to list off a mile long sponsor list on SotG every week.

That being said, DRG isn't thirsting for international tournament sponsorship, as he already has it through Complexity. It's going to be JYP.

It sounds like you ARE anti-EG. How do you even know there was foul play? How do you like DRG didnt goto them first? How do you know there wasn't a friendly transfer discussed by both teams? How do you know that there was "coercion" involved? Your either anti-EG or just pessimistic in general.

Your double standards are ridiculous. So its not okay for a team to go after talent.. but what about the talent himself? Does he not deserve recognition? Does he not deserve financial stability? Does he not deserve more exposure?

For what its worth, you can relax, I highly doubt its DRG. He'd goto Complexity before EG because they have a standing partnership between MvP and coL. Most likely were looking at someone teamless like JYP.

I guess I should rephrase. I'm not anti-EG, but I do have a problem with any foreign team taking the ace player from a Korean team simply because they have the money to do so.

DRG already gets plenty of foreign exposure from the coL.MvP deal, not to mention his Code S Status. When it comes down to it, I see no reason that DRG would have approached talks with EG, but plenty that could have led to EG approaching DRG.

Like I edited into my last post, it's all theoretical. I think JYP is going to EG from what I've heard through some of my contacts.

You dont think DRG would contact EG? He'd be stupid not to! If DRG's cintract was about to end, he needs to be shopping himself all over the place. If you are a premier sc2 player and you dont shop yourself or consider joining EG, you are making a huge mistake. They have the ability to support you better than any team out there. Slayers house in korea, EG Lair in NA, get flown to any tournament possible, and get paid a good salary. DRG knows EG pays and supports better than any team out there. That is enough of a reason to contact EG.

I hope we get to a point where every team can support their players the way EG can. But if you really cant see why a player would contact EG, well you have a lot to learn.

And of course EG has a ton of reasons to pursue DRG, as does every sc2 team.

And i also doubt its DRG. It would have more hype to it. I suspect JYP aswell.

EG has yet to develop a single player.... I don't see whats wrong with his comment. If anything ever since players joined EG they seemed to get relatively worst, hence why I don't support EG as a team either.

IdrA, Huk and PuMa have done equal or better on EG than on previous teams. In fact, PuMA has 2 major wins after joining EG.

As far as development, does Demuslim not count? Strife and Axslav qualifying for IEM NY and Axslav qualifying for ESCW not count?

IMO foreign teams get compared to Korean teams when it comes to player development but the fact of the matter is that the Koreans have utilized team house for the past few years. They rake in results because they have a superior method of developing players. Thats why teams like EG, reign, and other pro teams/players are looking into team houses. Its not fair to say a Korean team can develop players but a team like EG cannot, COMPLETELY different situations. Now that EG has a house set up, we have to wait a few months to see if it pays off. If not, then they need to make some adjustments about the way they practice, but Korea's been at this for years, they know what they're doing.

I dunno why it would be DRG.

1. Slayers wanted to build their team around MMA and DRG at the beginning. DRG declined Slayers, but after the MVP coach promised to pay for his education if it didn't work out, DRG joined MVP.

2. MVP is sponsored by Complexity. DRG has been flown to every international tournament in the world. If he wants to go, I don't see Complexity having any problem sending him there.

3. If DRG had gotten poached, I am sure we would have seen some sort of Korean article out already talking about how awful EG is for stealing another ace player from a team. I don't see how DRG going to EG could be kept this quiet with so many MVP players on Twitter, etc.

4. It's JYP.

ONLY REASON I can see this is because DRG is very close to Jessica from Slayers. This would allow him to be in the Slayers house, etc. but still receive the foreign tournament benefits EG could provide.

So who have they developed? You could argue with IdrA(well he was very good in bw before sc2), I don't want to get into that tho. Other than that all their "homegrown" talent has persistently underachieved. Recently EG has not signed any players that were not already established (PuMa, HuK, DeMuslim)

I mean you could say that IdrA was stolen from CJ, Huk stolen from TL, and Puma stolen from TSL, because they had all trained with those teams before... but I agree with you that it would be impossible for EG to have developed players on its own: before Puma was "stolen" it was just IdrA; then Huk was stolen and EG had a whopping total of 2 really good players... EG is just making a core of players around which more players can develop- otherwise they cannot train with nobody.

TBH i think its jsut because its EG... I mean although you can call them names, but just looking at Puma, he got to travel so much more, show up more and has began to stream intermittently- they have the right idea about running a business

So who have they developed? You could argue with IdrA(well he was very good in bw before sc2), I don't want to get into that tho. Other than that all their "homegrown" talent has persistently underachieved. Recently EG has not signed any players that were not already established (PuMa, HuK, DeMuslim)

What players in EG are under achieving really? Incontrol is probably the only one id say is under achieving. The rest are right where they should be. Axslav and strife make good runs occasionally. They have done wonders with idra since the teanhouse. Demuslim is drastically better as well. Especially considering his injury. Puma has improved under EG, and i think when Huk gets on a less busy schedule he will show better play too.

What did you think their "homegrown" talent would do? Become the best players in the world? Cause thats how things work right? You know IM and SlayerS are full of non stars too right?

Haha it just looks like the Korean players are just trolling so hard, I still think it is JYP who they are picking up though.

found this on reddit, so props to whoever posted it! (http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/nqqcn/mvpdrgs_twitter_changed_to_egdrg/)

apparently his ID was changed for a couple of minutes, but now its back to MVPDongRaeGu...

if it is drg that would be amazing for EG!

It has nothing to do with phrasing. It's your mindset. EG isn't TAKING any player from another team. Ace or Code B player, it's not theft. They are offering a contract to a player looking for a better deal, and then the player chooses where he goes from there.
This notion that EG and other teams alike are stealing players is so fucking stupid and ignorant.
