I like your casting since your German Warcraft 3 casts.
Of course you haven't the same vocabulary as in German, but sometimes your reusing certain phrases way to often / some are to simplistic. That's something you could improve, i obviously know English isn't your native language, and it's difficult to come up with "eloquent" or well spoken phrases on the fly. But maybe you could try to teach yourself before a cast certain phrases that you're going to use during the cast, like saying: "today i'm going to use "he's launching an assault" instead of "the player attacks". So that you're casting gets more diverse.

he is doing a great job and a tone of casting. gj!!

Love the casts with pros as cocasters, i really like the combo! you should do more of those

I enjoy your casts a lot. Though your not my top ranked caster, you are among my personal top 5 and considering how often you cast I probably watch you more than anybody else.
Personally, I like the adrenaline you add to your casts, your voice (which is obviously a very subjective, but nevertheless pretty important thing) and your knowledge of the game in general. One can't help but feeling your experience in the field. I also envy you your working morale and discipline. You're really advertising for German craftsmanship over there :D
What I think you could still improve on is (obviously) your English pronunciation and grammar, since you're not a native speaker - although you're already damn good at it there's still room for improvement. I also despise you intimidating some of your co-casters. For you some of your comments and behavior towards others probably appear to be only a joke and/or friendly comradeship but I often get the feeling that others feel offended by you but are just to shy and/or intimidated by your presence to tell you. I - for my part - have realized some really awkward silences during your shows with others.
Other things I dislike are mostly personal and subjective things, which are really not worth mentioning, since there will always be something to nitpick on - one should get rid of that habit :D

You're doing great imo, and improving consistantly as well. I wouldn't say you're at Tastosis/Day[9] level, but a hell of a lot better than Moletrap
|
I think you need to work on your way of talking when casting. I've noticed that you use very long run-on sentences when casting (especially during exciting moments) which in turn makes your casting sound very monotonous. Becomes quite grating to listen to after a while. : / Also something minor I've noticed is that you use "that" instead of "this". Saying "that game" while you're casting the game sounds very weird to me. That is a very small thing though, and it doesn't bother me that much.
I have nothing complain about when it comes to knowledge though, and all in all you're a good caster!

I've been watching you cast those latenight korean streams as well as the GSL since you started, a few months back. Personally I think you're a good caster albeit a few things that I personally find annoying (sorry to sound rude I think you're a great personality)
These are -
When a player makes a seemingly bad decision, its fine to point it out, but you convey way too much personal disgust and ask 'why did he do that' over and over again at times.
Enthusiasm is great, but during some of the big key battles and moments it seems sometimes that you are shouting before you're thinking, starting a statement with "AND IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S ABOUT TO, actually he will hold that attack" I guess what I'm trying to say is improve the play by play so its more fluent and not broken.
Get a better co-caster, Moletrap is trash and everytime he makes a mistake I commend you for bringing his attention to it during the GSL, I really enjoyed you casting with Wolf, try to get more of that maybe?
Besides those things I <3 you from Australia~

I think your casting is fine, but you have to work on your command of English if you really want to improve.
All the best

Love the style and the humor (Player X has like 12 sentries: "Guardian shield against zerglings, why? Because he caaan"). These days, the biggest trap casters can fall into is trying to mimic Tastosis. You don't do that and that's good. Also, it shows that you play Zerg because you focus on the Zerg more if there is one in the game. That's also good because Zerg is BETTER than the other races!

Other than that, no complaints! You are perfectly right about that. Ive been noticing it myself after people pointed it out to me. Its just very hard for me to get rid of that because I already got used to using it in a wrong way. It's not that I don't KNOW, but more like that it's an automatism I have to get rid of. I will add that to the OP soon and I promise that I will improve on that point. Just give me some time to get rid of the habit!
Yeah that's something I notice extremely regularly in your casts as well. It's obviously not a big issue, but I can't help but notice it :p other than that I have no issues! I haven't noticed as much zerg bias lately either which is a plus for my ears.

I somewhat agree with these sentiments, though these flaws are more than forgivable given that English is not your first language. You've done pretty fucking amazing considering, I'll say. Keep it up!

As "ntssauce" said, i have also realized you seem to sometime miss a few words, then you reapeat what you just said. Example:
"And the tanks are killing all the........ All the roaches of his opponent"
But don't get me wrong, I tune in to your casts every evening, love it. And make sure to rest while you're back in Germany, you cast too much for you own good at the moment ^^

I don't like the fact that you rely a lot on numbers such as supply counts, units killed and so on. It is perfectly standard for one race to be way ahead in supply while the game is still practically even. I'd like you to pay more attention to timings such as stim, colossus, siege mode, baneling speed to judge the situation.
Another thing which no one can fix very quickly is your vocabulary in english. Even though you do better than 99% of the non-native english casters, it is still unfortunately a drawback for you.
I love your energy and I remember you casting the Assembly winter in german and even though I didn't understand german at all I enjoyed it because of the energy.

I´m following you since wc3. So yeah, a long time. You keep improving and that is the main thing. I feel like you lack analysis and lean more towards colour/hype type of caster. Don´t get me wrong, that´s fine. I just don´t know in whicht direction you want to go. It is a challenge to cast all by yourself and it´s just given that you will lack one of the above or simply be mediocre in both areas. (I don´t know if you have a regular co-caster, I´m mostly watching the KSL or the occasional "random" tournament that you do.)
That is all I can think of at the moment. Hugs.

I like your casting in general, but it fucking boils my blood how whiny when you sound when you cast a TvZ in regards to balance. It also makes me cringe when you also go on a 5 minute tangent about mules when there is a drop going on in the zerg's main for example. This isnt as prevelant in GSL casts but in your KSL casts it kinda gets out of control at times.

Hey Khaldor,
I think we are looking at a pretty impressive situation here. A non native English speaker is casting esports in Korea on English. The fact itselfs makes you an incredible caster
Being from Germany (68 MA whoop whoop), im usually pretty annoyed by the german accent (hello Mr. Oettinger!). In your case, it doesnt bother me at all, because 1. your accent isnt that bad 2. it makes your voice/casting special.
Your casts provide the right amount of knowledge and funfactor imho. I know, there are guys who would like to hear more tech/knowledge stuff, but I want to hear a caster actually commentating the game, reacting to funny/special situations etc. But there are other casters, who found that perfect balance, too. What makes your casting special imho is the fact, that you talk about non-game related reallifestuff, too. Like when you say how cold it is out side, that you miss the German Christmas markets or where you will spend your holidays. Thats an important part of entertaining casting for me.
Btw, I think you should take a huge castingbreak (maybe about 4 weeks?) for I have to write my Bachelorthesis and if you keep on casting, I will get $h1t done during the holidays ...

Hi Khaldor,
I'm pretty neutral about your casting style - no issues with accent, excitement levels, etc. But then, I'm more of an analytical watcher. Something that I hope that casters will do is be even more analytical about the casts (e.g. analyse a build in depth, critical timings, etc). For example, in today's GSL U&D between Bomber vs Tassadar, the timing of the attack coincided with 1-1, which is why it was extra successful. You can contrast this with a GSL Nov game (Taeja vs Oz) where Taeja went double e-bay but didn't attack at the critical 1-1 timing (in fact, his build made no sense).
Another example is to talk about metagame evolutions - for instance, the resurgence of the helion/marauder in TvZ could be attributed to the roach/ling (or bane) early aggression by zerg. Also, something that Moletrap does very well is to research a player's matchup history - which I find interesting to know during a game.
An example of what you did for this was a cast I watched of in the KSL in a TvZ (forgot the players). You mentioned that the terran committed very heavily to marines and could've easily spared a marine to patrol behind his base to block overlord scouts.
Anyways, probably not everyone enjoy this kind of casts but you may want to consider doing this for some of yours.

i like your casting man, your succulent screaming graces my ear and makes the games exciting

I generally really like your casting style and your enthusiasm, and I was really happy when I heard you were going to Korea to cast GSL. If there is one thing I would probably criticize (and I suppose thats what the thread is for, not only seeing the votes, but getting feedback on details) , it would be one of your habits to oftentimes repeat sentences (or parts of it) to emphasize them. While I generally don´t think thats a bad idea, you sometimes get overboard with it and for me it feels like its a little bit too much
Other than that I just have to say you´re doing a really, really great job and I enjoy listening to your casts mostly Love your incredible dedication to sometimes bring us games until its 6 or 7 a.m over there, still giving everything every game !
