I don´t know why everybody is so ****ing surprised. Ever since the new format was announced we knew there were 2 Code S seeds for foreigners.

idra didn't leave on bad terms with Gom, Sen is not on bad terms with Gom. Maybe naniwa should learn to treat people well next time

Why Sen and not Stephano?

While i would love to see Idra and Sen in code S, i think its total bullshit how they just get a by straight there with not even a match needed to be played, am actually pretty disgusted tbh. You have players like Losira, July, Polt etc battling it out in the up and downs, while you have 2 less accomplished(in korea) players not even playing a game just skip right by them, whats the justification for this?

I think gom's logic goes as follows:
Idra never lost his Code S spot(technically)
Sen actually qualified for Code S back in season 3; however, chose not to attend due to personal reasons.
These two actually qualified for code S more than anyone in the lower brackets

...No, he didn't. He made it to the Ro32, which would let him play Code A Tiebreakers, if he had wanted.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but in the GSL Idra did throw a match similar to the way Naniwa just did. In an Idra vs Jinro match on Jungle Basin. Idra did a 6 pool and didn't micro, then immediately left the game before doing any real damage. The GSL didn't exact proper punishment then.

So who takes Idras up and down group spot? I would think there's a high chance its Morrow (Seeing as it appears everyone is getting a bump up ((idra from up/downs to code S)) so maybe Morrow will go code A --> up/down)

Well, Greg Field looks like an angel compared to Naniwa, so I support the action.

-_-;;

He wasn't throwing the game at all. It was incredibly close and almost worked.

Idra also later revealed that the reason he did it was because he noticed that Jinro's scouting was very late on that map - and he was right! He only lost that game cause Jinro cancelled his marine and remade it which confused Idra enough to barely lose.

- GSL has advanced a lot since then, more sponsors, more people watching.
- At least the 6p was a strategy.
- The real world works differently than this ideal world TL seems to live in, where Koreans understand Naniwa's mindset even though that's pretty impossible considering cultural differences. Naniwa made a dumb decision forced by dumb circumstances, but it was still a dumb decision, and he got punished for it.

The end.

Anyway, IdrA in Code S YEAAAAHHHH! C'mon Greg!

Well, I hope Idra gets ForGG in his group, he doesn't deserve this.

Also, since Naniwa earned his Code S spot in MLG Providence, shouldn't that spot be given to the next guy that wasn't already in Code S?

Here are the final results:

1st Leenock
2nd NaNiwa
3rd DongRaeGu
4th Mvp
5th HuK
6th MC
7th HayprO
8th IdrA

In theory, HayprO deserves that Code S spot more than IdrA.
Wonder what GOM's true reasons were... but as other said it seems that the GSL is just a popularity contest now.

Good job being uninformed.

Naniwa wasn't invited to Code S because of MLG Providence.

So, Idk, maybe stop talking about things when you're not privy (i.e. ignorant) to the details.

The guy needs to learn some respect. Sure he works hard but has no league or player regard.

Im glad they took his spot away. Guy needs an attitude adjustment.

You're saying Stephano is more accomplished in Korea? Not clear what your argument really is there bud.

Anyone that reads the edited OP is privy to the details...

Naniwa did not earn his Code S spot from Prov.

Would have been epic if they hadn't changed the format. I'm sure MC would've picked Idra in group selections, but now if Idra doesn't make it to ro16 he can't.
