What a great opportunity for Desrow and a stupid move by LgN. I think Starcraft teams don't understand the purpose of an investment.

Edit: Desrow has a lot of fans because of his personality, not his skill level. By sending him to Korea you are isolating the majority of viewers from his stream. He obviously won't make it into Code A. This move just doesn't make sense. I hope Desrow views this as a vacation and doesn't train too hard in Korea.

Desrow is paying his own way, so how is this a stupid move by his team O_o. Seems like they have nothing invested beyond the tag he wears on his ID.

idn man, I think it's pretty rude to shit all over a dood's dream (that he's paying for) by saying it'd be better spent as a vacation. Isolation and focus can do a lot for an individual. Basically everyone who's trained in Korea has improved, some vastly more than others, so who is to say DesRow won't explode in skill? Huk certainly exploded in skill (mid tier foreigner to top tier world) Why not just wish him luck then laugh quietly to yourself if/when he doesn't meet your internal criteria for training in Korea.

also: everyone making snide comments about the low post count people supporting DesRow... shut up, obviously they are legit, pm rich/mod if you want to pursue it further... you can stop pointing it out twice a page.

DesRow, I wish you best of luck, and am sure if you stay as dedicated as you have been its only a matter of time before you have a break through.

what does teamliquid has become people bashing someone cause he is going to korea?, lemme tell you people theres no such thing as talent im sorry but theres not the only thing that exist is hard work / learning process some ppl take longer time to learn something tha other persons in this case starcraft 2, why people bashing cause someone is going to korea?. i dont undestearnd he can do what ever he wants its his life its his choice if he wants to go to korea to become a better starcraft 2 player its gonna happen as long as he practices alot and try to fix all his mistakes of gameplay it happes to everyone anyone can be a progamer with hardwork and right eviroment. playing on NA or EU its awful bad compared to kr practice even if its only ladder, ur limited in practice partnets in eu and na if u go to korea u gonna improve by just mass gaming on the ladder similar effect of starcraft 1 iccup on korean times as long as u play alot, try ur hardest to fix ur mistakes u gonna get better theres no such thing as skill cap the only skill cap is ur own mind if u think just cause he isnt good right now he cant be good with the right amount of practice and correct mindset, its the same for everything as school / sports / university / starcraft 2 / poker / etc, as long as u put ur maximum effort and try to fix ur wrong habits u gonna achive something.
this is why in starcraft 1 the proteams even tough u could suck alot at starcraft 1 they give u over 1 year before kicking u out of the proteam because it dosent take 1 week 1 months its different for everyperson to undestearnd what they doing and how to get better mechanics / undestearnding of the game / and game sense.

so please stop bashing on someone that is going to try to achive something just cause he isnt good at the game at the moment.

Bold statement considering Flash trains as much as all top korean BW players and yet he is above their level.

EDIT: just saw you meant for sc2.

I was going to korea regardless of if I had a team or not. Blame me not them. I'll be streaming around the same hours when I'll be going into the gom house. If I manage to get in a team/clan house my schedule will obviously change but I don't see myself as a personality/entertainer. I know I have success because of my personality/ and that I entertain on stream but ultimately I want to be a top foreigner Protoss. I already play 8-10hours at home, why not do it on the best ladder and get a shot at a clan/pro house at the same time?

Oh and I'm paying for most of the trip and maxfrag is helpîng me as well.

Pay no mind to him, he dumps on everyone that gets to go to Korea. Have a great time over there, I hope you do well.

Yes, don't analyze my words. Just assume there's an alterior motive behind it.

I think the last person I dumped on about going to Korea was someone who was only going to 3 weeks, arguing that was surely too short a time to have any impact. I don't have a history before that.

Desrow is paying his own way, so how is this a stupid move by his team O_o.

Did you read the post you quoted? His stream time is about to change by 12 hours so most of his current viewers won't be able to watch a lot of his content. That's a lot of publicity the team is losing, even if he is paying his own way. Unless he starts placing at tournaments to represent his team, it doesn't seem like a good move. The "isolating the majority of viewers" part of the post you didn't read btw.

And he's not even paying his own way, he has a sponsor.

Juan pretty much says it all. The guy is making his best effort to succeed as a pro gamer. So I support that decision and the player 100%.

And even though I don't really like Desrow, I respect him for this dedication and sacrifice.

Good luck bro. I hope you get what you are looking for. Don't mind these people. Even if you were the worst person in the world, going to korea is huge and you will improve a lot. People should not look at the natural talent a person has but the effort they are making.

I'v lost alot of respect for Chill. Attitudes like that are the reason people become complacent in life and never expect anything of themselves.
