Why are so many foreigners so eager to become progamers without showing any specific talent what so ever? I mean, you see threads about master/gm players looking for teams because they wanna be progamers all the time even if they are ladder heroes with 51% win ratio. The same goes for people like desrow going to Korea without showing off any sort of talent in this game.

Shouldn't people be able to at least beast it up on ladder or tournaments before thinking of going pro? If you would play 8-10 hours every day and have the talent for the game to become a progamer you would be noticed. Is it really that bad playing this game on a amateur level?

desRow was one of the first streamers I followed on Justin.tv, but that went to shit when he bm'd me then banned me on his chat for discussing about his previous match that was on his stream. I understand that he might have been frustrated, but he took it out on the wrong person.

I hope he changed since then, because that totally turned me off from returning to his stream.

well that is what happens in a sport where there is no governing body to say who is or isn't pro, I agree with your point btw

Agreed. If you play full time and still don't have any noticeable results I don't see how Korea is going to help.

And who was huk before Korea? Who made fun of incontrol when he went over? Or the dozens of other unknown players playing for example for itsgosu (or gosu gamers or gosu whatthefuckever)? Here is a guy who is fronting his own money for the chance to improve, which he will, 100% (code A? probably not yet...) All because it is his dream to be a pro gamer. Isn't that what we would call "love for Esports" in a different context? Maybe if he had a big name team (cough EG) to throw tons of sponsorship and advertising money at him, he would have more support, but people resent the idea that he is trying to promote himself. I see that as entrepreneurship. Why the fuck not. Good luck Desrow.

Huk had won MLG Raleigh and placed 3rd at DC. Incontrol has a history of being a progamer.

Your ignorance betrays you.

I want to support this guy but the reality of the situation is that he's not very good so it makes little sense to send him to korea. Unless he plans to stay for an extended period of time, he won't see much improvement.

Sometimes, a change of atmosphere helps alot. Sure, there are people with more potential that could be sent to Korea, but it's not as if desrow is doomed to failure. If he is determined to stay there for as long as it takes and does that for a considerate amount of time, he is showing a whole lot of more guts than people give him credit for.

What a great opportunity for Desrow and a stupid move by LgN. I think Starcraft teams don't understand the purpose of an investment.

He obviously won't make it into Code A. This move just doesn't make sense. I hope Desrow views this as a vacation and doesn't train too hard in Korea.

THANK GOD SOMEONE WITH A BRAIN SAID IT AND I DIDNT HAVE TO GET FLAMMED FOR SAYING SOMETHING LIKE THIS. Thank you chill, summed up what my thoughts were.

kinda weird, I remember him saying he would not go to any LAN events after last years ETS because he felt uncomfortable. Now he's going to live with 10+ people in a small space if I understand.

Oh well, GL man

Anyways ambitious, yet adventurous move by desRow. Good luck with your endeavour!

And btw please stop these million commercials at the same time on your stream.

While desRow is a pretty good player, I don't think he is skilled enough to compete in Korea. Still, I applaud him for taking the initiative and wish him the best. He's definitely a dedicated individual and hopefully it will be a good learning experience.

I was going to korea regardless of if I had a team or not. Blame me not them. I'll be streaming around the same hours when I'll be going into the gom house. If I manage to get in a team/clan house my schedule will obviously change but I don't see myself as a personality/entertainer. I know I have success because of my personality/ and that I entertain on stream but ultimately I want to be a top foreigner Protoss. I already play 8-10hours at home, why not do it on the best ladder and get a shot at a clan/pro house at the same time?

Oh and I'm paying for most of the trip and maxfrag is helpîng me as well.

Pay no mind to him, he dumps on everyone that gets to go to Korea. Have a great time over there, I hope you do well.
