I honestly don't see how anyone can be 'the best player in the world' without winning the highest level tournament out there, which is the GSL. Someone write an article explaining that please.

Shouldn't he have won every single tournament he got into if he was the best or at least placed top 3? Good trolling, OP.

This was a terrible post, not just because I entirely disagree, but because there is not a single piece of evidence supporting the outrageous claim with the exception of him beating a bunch of b-level koreans in IPL. You just kind of vaguely say that he has a ton of talent.

Honestly, not to flame, but if anybody thinks that Stephano is the best player in the world then you obviously don't even know what you're watching for when you're making that determination. Not only does he not have the results to prove it, but in my opinion from watching his games it seems like he's miles behind a lot of other top players in terms of multitasking, drone/aggression timings, and decision-making. I'm not even going to list examples of people better than him and why because the list would be like 70 players long.

Huh?

Stephano beat KiwiKaki, Violet (Code A), Inori (Code B), TheSTC(Code B) and Lucky (Code A).

At least. If not 300. Just by laddering on the korean server! -.-

Nobody is a super clear best in the world in sc2. that's reserved truly dominant players like flash/jd.

MVP and Nestea... Best in the world, I think anyone will agree.

they are among the best.

but they aren't super dominant lke JD/flash.

do you follow bw?

they are nowhere near the dominance that flash has shown.

Not really MVP is of course one of the best but there is still none 'best player in the world" in sc2. You can't lose against Haypro, or leenock and being the best.

i doubt most players play optimally, every game. that's enough to say they don't take ladder seriously. even though not optimal their less optimal play style can be viable especially with their game mechanics. that still makes them hard to beat.

I'd say Stephano is already better than IdrA, he just hasn't had the tournaments to show it since he hasn't been in many.

i'd say that isn't true, see what i did there?

He's a good player but he's not the best player in the world. Him beating some Koreans on the ladder doesn't mean anything.

Just because he can't win everything doesn't mean he's not the best player in the world :/ (oh and he never got beaten by haypro)

even though its well written, I think saying that Stephano is the BEST player in the WORLD is a really bold statement.

Lol... Being the best doesn't mean you have to be perfect and never lose at all. What a ridiculous comment.

I didn't follow Brood War. But you can't seriously tell me that Flash, in his prime, never lost to an inferior opponent?

A player doesn't have to be super dominant to be the best. He just needs to be better than everyone else.

Also the fact that you would use Leenock as an example of a bad player proves you have no idea what you're talking about.
