dont understand this part too. Btw what is this jail thing about? you dont get into jail because you can not pay your bills when its not even 100% clear its your bills. I think they panic a little bit.
afaik they're friends right? (or were ...) I guess you'd do that with a friend involved, you don't expect surprises

Not sure why you are highlighting the time so much, it would be far far faaar worse had the ppsl tweet come after yours. But you are right, this is a pretty disgusting situation...

Didn't IPL (David Ting) post that they kept half the sponsorship money on hold until all issues were settled or to reallocate the money to reimburse people that were screwed over? I see this as the way out for Amanda, with IPL stepping up to reimburse her with the money originally meant for the PPSL/Gus.

Well, I don't think it's jail but since she guaranteed for it, she is obligated to pay for it. Which means, if she can not pay on the due date, it would either be an arrangement of payment terms staggered throughout a certain span of time of 6 months to a few years. But all obligations would fall on her.
She could possibly go to jail though is she issued dated checks where the accounts do not have the balance necessary to clear them. Estafa is the case if I'm not mistaken.

If you guys are aware. We are a democratic country (The Philippines). Therefore our testimonies will work against Gus himself. Sue that !@#$

I can't believe what I'm reading. Philippine esports should be moving forward. Mineski and other small organizations here are putting all their efforts to make esports grow in our country. Now it seems this is a lethal blow on us. Gus, be a man. Explain yourself.

This guy is digging himself deeper and deeper into a hole he created. Theres no coming back from this. Its called damage control for a reason. It didn't happen, so now he will have to deal with the consequences. Would be nice if he was banned from any future events (just my opinion).

Law might be different in the Philippines?

This makes me so angry. I wouldn't piss on this guy if he was on fire. I hope he burns.

I never understood this, you would think being burned and covered in piss would be worse than being actively on fire.

I am from Philippines so I'm actually thinking about how it would mean jail time for her? Only swindling and estafa come to mind in here case wherein the travel agency could claim she swindled them of the tickets and didn't pay for them. Estafa in the case she made checks that bounced because they never had any funds to pay for the written amount to begin with.

Nobody gets jailed in the Philippines because of debt.
We have a saying here, "wala pang nakukul0ng sa utang" (same as statement ab0ve)

and again. People put the torches aside. We all see limited information that comes by forum post , twitters and chat logs. EVERYONE is innocent until proof guilty. Rageing over people like this on forums will help no one and there will always be the days where you guys piss on the wrong guy. Happens in the past here on TL and sadly im sure will happen again.

And then they make an apology post, everyone forgives them and they're ESPORTS friends again. This is just the natural cycle every hate spree must follow, the jail thing adds an interesting spin to it, but it will still work out the same way.

This actually made me see red. What a complete joke. This whole incident has become the CxG of this decade and will have vast reprecussions on the esports scene as a whole.

I'm surprised no one has stated anything specific, so I'll do it:
1. At the level of TL, give him a conditional perm ban until he comes up with a valid explanation for everything that is being complained against him. 2. Have him update TL or in some other ESports forum on the status of all the "complaints" against him (payment for the hotel, team Cube, YJ, etc.) 3. File lawsuits. This is not a simple matter of mismanagement. This is about a man who, reading the posts here and elsewhere, bragged about being the "BOSS" yet performed way below incompetence level, and even had malicious intentions in the performance of his duty.
This is a criminal act. And Gus Ledesma is a criminal. Potential! calling someone criminal who is not proof criminal is criminal! you should not start your tl account with a torch fire statement.

This is by far the most epic clusterfuck I've ever witnessed. Words just fail me. GunRun; you deserve hugs from every e-sports fan in the world for stepping in to assuage some of the worst of the blowback for one of the victims. And I'm sure that a solution will be found to keep Amanda out of jail - €9k is a lot of money, but it would be cheap advertising for IPL to front it, and in the worst case, I'd be surprised if the community couldn't collect that in an emergency.
