1. The problem with the issue with Amanda is its doubtful she has a legally binding contract that states that Gus is the one that is assigned to pay the obligations and that she is merely a representative.
2. They most likely are not legally registered as a corporation or group with the government, which means the heirarchy of manager, travel agent, staff etc can be something that is denied and claimed as heresay if it were to reach court.
3. If ever she has a document that states such, I doubt it is a notarized contract but simply an agreement that is most likely a photocopy only and not a certified true copy. (She trusted in Gus too much)
4. I really have trouble understanding and comprehending how in the world Amanda willingly signed for 700k php worth of travel tickets as a guarantor without expressly writing that Gus is also party to it. I mean, the statement of Gus that he didn't have credit card to present for the rooms was already weird to begin with. (Credit card companies actually sometimes dole out cards eventhough you don't apply for them here in the Philippines so I doubt Gus doesn't have even 1 - which also weirds me out that Clide didn't find that suspucious).
We have a saying here in the Philippines: "Walang maloloko kung walang magpapaloko" (No one will be tricked if no one lets themselves be tricked)
I feel sorry for Amanda, Clive and the rest of the guys who stepped up to make it work but now it seems like Gus didn't really present himself or any company under his name (as a proprietor) to front (Such as an event organizing company/body) for the whole thing and he used various individuals and had non-recorded verbal arrangements with some of them.

I'd pitch in to hire some pinoy thugs to fuck Gus up. Just kidding, of course.

What was the point in this post? "I'd like to help you but i wont cos i cant trust u and dont actually have money, LOL!" ...I dont get it.
This guy is a fucking joke anyway, cant believe the shit he's pulling. Hope it all gets sorted and best of luck to whoever is still in the shit, at the very least i hope you get to squeeze his balls.

Its amazing how you guys want to help Amanda. Amazing hearts in your chests right there. From a Filipino SC2 fan, thank you. EDIT: I do agree with the guy who posted here though, that its not necessary, donations and whatnot. She still has time and Gus is still with TheGunRun AFAIK.
There are so many of us over here that have that same kind of heart and spirit of community. That's why what happened really hurt us; we want to be part of the best esports community. We can be. There are many of us directly trying to help as well. I know people scrambling to get answers and things done. I hope this clears up soon so we can get back to trying to build bridges and enjoying great games both local and international.

Why on earth would anybody be talking about raising donations at this stage? That will just make Gus think he doesnt have to come up with the money.

oh and if Gus is really trying to scam someone and wants to get away with it think he came to the wrong place. ive seen the forum sherlocks solve way harder cases. you dont fuck with nerds.

I posted this because if jailtime really came into play, then yes, i am willing to loan out some of the cash to help, but as i said, 500k is hard to shoulder alone (that's almost a year's salary here). I was just doing this as a gesture, but since Amanda has until the 21st, then i guess there really was no point, was there?
I'm just curious if the travel agency she contacted was locally based here in the Philippines.

I hope people would understand that the Philippine Starcraft Community is pretty fragmented. Most of us play because we played Broodwar. There's no national league and the internet cafes that have Starcraft are few and far in between. This event could've been really good for the community(and if i didn't have to go to work, i would have been there too), but because someone decided to be incredibly greedy and/or incompetent (from what I gather), it all just got messed up.
I know that the international community does not think much of the Philippines in terms of e-sport potential if at all, and rarely does it show up in TL aside from the occasional Manny Pacquiao or national disaster thread, but we are here and appreciate this game just as much as the next guy.
I am just really disappointed about how PPSL was managed. It could have been really good. But no. Now every time a Philippine event would be held, we would be reminded of this fiasco, and comparison will be made.
IPL are such a great events and I always tune in whenever I can. From what I understand, David Ting made a lot of things happen and I suppose took a calculated risk when IPL took on this PPSL held in Manila. I do not know David Ting personally and perhaps, never will; but I respect him a lot for what he has done for the game that I so enjoy.
From where I am right now, I can only hope that the people who were immediately directly affected.
I have stopped playing for a while, relegated myself to the reddit habit of just watching games, but after all this has happened; I feel motivated to play and organize local events again.
GLHF as always.

I wonder what Deezer's going to do now that he isn't the most hated figure in the SC2 community anymore...

Disgusting to see them celebrating whilst an innocent party is at risk.

This documentations are helpful but not needed. The people there, the twitter messages and so on is enough proof that she worked by his order. If it comes hard to hard, i think she would win on court and can show that she is the wrong person to sue. But hope they find a way it clear it out earlier.

dont understand this part too.
Btw what is this jail thing about? you dont get into jail because you can not pay your bills when its not even 100% clear its your bills. I think they panic a little bit.

After seeking fame all this while, you, sir, have now become famous. Fame comes in two forms, good and bad. Unfortunately, you're not part of the good kind of fame, but the bad, to be lumped together with all that is evil and vile.
In the future, whenever events like this are held by relative newcomers, the first question would be, "will he/she pull a gus ledesma?" heck, at least your name will be repeated for a very long time.
so, cheers, you have finally gotten the fame you wanted. Enjoy.

think you've got a nerve to even post like this, as if you're in the wrong as much as you are, if I were you i'd leave esports and never come back
