Just reread the last few paragraphs of the thing while looking at the full list of people he listed.

...
We are sincerely sorry for the way these issues have popped up at this event and i know for a fact that all the major tournaments experienced some of the issues that we experienced as well.

Way to accept blame. -_-

I am grateful for all of those that have supported me in the past few days; I remember every one of you that have spoken out, messaged me personally, and have even apologised for something their country has done (which I have replied this matter has nothing to do with the Philippines). To these people I would like to say I am indebted to you, as I have felt the community unite and speak out with and for me.

Gus's actions will tell me if he has accepted responsibility. In the next few days, if Gus keeps his word and attends to those that have been affected by the management, then he has my forgiveness. I have made many mistakes myself and have been grateful for loving friends and family that have constantly forgiven my mistakes. By no means does this mean I have forgiven him now; actions speak louder than words. However, if he does do what a reasonable person does to fix his mistakes, who are we not to forgive? I cannot force you to follow me into accepting Gus back into e-Sports, as you have the right to your opinion. Yet it is my solid belief that if he pays for his wrongs, then we as a community must forgive him.

Yes, I'm fine with that. Let us hope he pays the people that are in immediate need at the moment.

there's a huge difference between making mistakes in management and actually being conniving and taking advantage of a situation in order to benefit oneself. this man did both and then gave us a half-hearted, vague apology to cover his incredible (lack of?) shame.

whether he repays the debt he has already or not, there are so many accusations and charges against him (between trying to bribe mOOnGLaDe in an attempt to get him to join his team, "sneaking" his own players into the tournament and pretty much everything else mentioned in the last 24 hours) that there's really nothing he can do to redeem himself aside from calling all of those accusations as hearsay with convincing proof, which he clearly didn't do in this apology thread, essentially blowing his only chance at a little bit of saved face.

where'd the money go? honestly?

was he the only one managing the budget?

i'm very confused as to how such a thing as this could happen, especially when IGN gave him MORE than he would have beenable to spend?

You might want to get him to sign a legally binding contract to make sure he pays,

I will not do this, and it is not because I am stupid, but rather I am more worried about the people in the Philippines that need immediate help. If he does not pay me it is fine; it benefits the community by showing that he is full of shit. We will judge from his actions

I bet he used the Flight Money for his Own Players to Fly to the Tournament and For the Casters he had (The Two Girl ones)
IPL/IGN Was supposed to have Tastosis Casting the whole event so obviously IPL/IGN didn't pay for the (Girl Casters) to be flown because they didn't even know that Gus was bringing his own Casters....

he mis-used those funds that were originally for YJY and And the 4 Team Cube members who also Qualified.

I bet he used that money to Fly his own Team to the Event and basically said Fuck you to the rest. Where else would the Money of Gone when IGN/IPL Gave him More than Enough... to Cover he Costs...

The members who did nothing wrong should form a new team, and the current name and all remaining members should be blacklisted. This is beyond underhanded and shady from a team that just keeps churning out bad press.

I can almost assure you the entire team knew this was going to be a cluster fuck. Anybody directly involved would have known. Plenty of people are to blame for this. Gus is a fucking douche and is obviuosly where all the hate should be directed, but he did not do this on his own. A single person would not be capable of fucking this up entirely on his own. He had associates, people other then himself must have known how much money was coming in, and where it was coming from. What it was being spent on etc etc.

Are you really sure?
It seems for me that the whole tourney was so fucked up because Gus was only guy in charge and didn't plan anything accordingly.
They may be some people who knew something and didn't intervene. But you can't blame them by a lot.

I don't think that Gus took any money for himself. He wanted to come out big with this despite having no experience in organizing big events. So he underestimated the costs and then never wanted to get help, but just tried to fix the problems somehow which made everything worse.
Thats by no means an excuse. The way he acted showed some criminal energy.

Dude, please stop spamming the thread with links that everyone has seen before. We get it you hate him.

At least add something new to the discussion. Like the tweet about Gus arriving at the hotel.

How come no one accepts this guy's apology?

Sorry, I have been reading a lot about this story and have no clue what is going on still (what the fuck is the ppsl, something ign sponsored, why is there a tournie in the phillipines? was like idra and such normal people there? anyways...), but my ignorance aside, why does no one believe this guy?

I can (sort of) understand if you don't like him, but is it a matter of you don't believe him? I mean stealing, bad management, whatever, as long as this guy isn't on the lamb, can't he just simply be held accountable for any missing money? Besides legal action, it doesn't exactly sound like he's trying to run away.

I mean if he's incompetent, I get it. Great. But besides 'sorry' for management issues that we just do better about next time, the issue of problems that can be fixed, isn't he going to fix it? Do you guys not believe him or something?

I mean doesn't someone from TL know where this guy is right? Is he just in the bahamas right now with loads of cash, or is he somewhere, after saying he'll correct the situation?

it's not just about the money lol.. you would know if you actually read through the replies, even without having read any of the other threads

He hasn't only caused damage to the SEA scene, but also to IPL helping out any other small tournaments. Can you imagine them sponsoring anything after this?

I don't understand the need to have had this put on the internet in the first place, when you are now basically saying you may be able to handle the situation between each other. Even if he pays his debts who is going to accept him back into e-sports. I understand that you were conned and want justice for what happened to you but now the internet mob is already making threats towards him. The guy is no doubt a scrum bag but now he's a scum bag with a target on his back.

You should take his Macbook Air ($1,000). I doubt he'd pay you in a reasonable amount of time or if at all. Lots of people are like that with personal debts, yet alone douchebags like Gus. It's so easy to just avoid phone calls in the future..

I have, there's quite a lot going on but it's not always clear what's hearsay and what's true. People were claiming blizzcon was the worst tournament ever too, when people who were actually there had access to 40x the number of games and were able to watch the actual players play (basically just a security guard giving 5 feet between you and about 20 pro matches going on that weren't on the main stage).

Apparently everything bad that happened is true? There is the tweet about gus paying the hotels bills now, apparently.

I've also never seen someone just get shat on so hard after giving an apology. Quite surprising.
