for DH Cointoss Tournament 10.000 SEK ~1100€ and ESL Torneo Campus Party 2000€ i think its not too unlikely that ill get it.

so if anyone has an idea on how to get payment from these events, feel free to pm me :D

Do you get a salary from aTn? 15600 is a lot of money :O

I, like many others here, have the same opinion, in that a tournament organizer needs to show integrity and transparity regarding payments to players and rules, respectively. If a TO fails to do so, their reputation as a reputable league or series is tarnished, and eventually, players will simply blacklist that specific Tournament, even if privately. The consequences are clear, and the solution is clear. Why any TO would withhold payment, or run a tournament without previously securing funding, is simply beyond me, other than they have cash flow problems (excess spending, awaiting future sponsorship cheques, etc) in which case the Organizer should not be considering a tournament, but more should be considering bankruptcy or closure.
Win. That's all that matters. Win. Nobody likes to lose.

Also statements that u can't be big unless u spend in korea long amount of time is bullshit too.

Pretty sure near 100% of the top foreigners that win events have spent time in Korea.

And yes, it's BM.

It's a bit off topic, but the last IPL and ESWC champion didn't spend any time in Korea. I think "spending time in Korea" is a bit overrated even if it is still mostly a good way to improve...

I have 3.00$ on playhem from scoring 2nd place in a plat tournament. Imma be so mad if they dont pay out! (lol not really) but serious issues with these tournaments not paying out promptly, I can understand requiring the paperwork time but seriously don't ruin esports by not paying out ASAP.

The sad about it is, that this is known so fucking long. And Cloud has the balls that all others dont had. This makes me really sad, cause all other ProGamers just didnt want to say something. And so you help active to let this System alive. I hope ProGamers take their Power and just say "NO" to tournaments that do not pay.

I followed cloud and i didnt enjoy his play, i thought he is just overrated as demuslim in his german times. You have now a big fan cloud cause you are the only one who had the balls.

ps: Props to all ProGamers who said here something but many still dont say anything in public. So i think most are fine with it. And btw, ESL say always they pay late. So just bagging them for paying late is one point but they still pay. And they do more then just SC2. So keep this in mind please. And they have to work with the money the have. Its not like MLG
"Well we are out of money"
"What to do?"
"New Venture Capital!"
"Yeah good idea!"
"What if we cant find sb?"
"Well we are out"

...and i hope most people know what venture capital means. People spend money in an idea to get later money out of it. How long does mlg exist? And how long are they just alive cause of venture money? And i hope the investors will not take the usual way. Stopping moneylof and just sell everything out what they control of MLG and try to get some money back.

I know where i am so myb not all will understand my point. But well...

There needs to be a players' union, not KeSPA, but a players' union, comprised of and managed by player elected representatives. Then less of this will happen, imo.

KESPA started off as a player's union if the historiography I been reading is correct.

MLG has raised a lot of money over the past years, but I believe they already are cash-flow positive (or not far from it at least). They generate a lot of cash with the huge venues and sponsorship/clientship they attract. ; they've managed to sell the images as well for a while now (something not all events achieve).

Venture money is not a bad thing. The fact that investors plan on a successful exit (i.e, getting more money than they invested) is logical and a good point: it boosts the company in the right way, so they get higher revenues. In this case, e-sports cash prizes are just a very small amount of the events MLG organizes, I'd be surprised they don't pay them in time.

...And FYI, ESL also raised venture money twice, a little less than MLG, but still over $10m.

I am surprised to see Dreamhack's name up there, considering that they are supposed to be the premier tournament organiser in europe, and the european hope for stepping up to MLG! (even though I think Europe has the better players, I admit that NA still has the best tournaments by far)

Did you read the response about the Dreamhack prize money? From the response that Dreamhack already paid the money long ago to aTn, it seems that aTn is sitting on the money, and correct me if I am wrong, but aren´t Cloud, Socke and Darkforce all players from aTn?

Might be a double edged problem with tournaments not paying out in time, and that the clan dosnt pay out in time (or at all sometimes?) to the players.

Socke edited that comment and aknowledge there might have been some miscommunication since it seems it was allready payed out to his team!

This is not about DH, ESWC, IPL and MLG! It's more about ESL being to late and other smaller leagues simply not paying like:
the gathering - norway
UGC - italy
DSRACK - denmark
ESL - pays but takes to long, sometimes more then a year!
etc..
