SC2 on the other hand has teams that have big sponsors paying salaries and fly them out all over the world. You don't know much about Brood War do you? SC2 doesn't have teams with big sponsors and paid salaries either. Unless he was talking about Evil Geniuses, which I doubt he was.
I find it hilarious how BW is sponsored by multinational corporations and telecommunication companies that span an entire country . . . . whereas a "big sponsor" in SC2 is like . . . some nerd niche keyboard manufacturer.

Don't forget oGs' random chicken store sponsor! HUGE! Seriously though, this is why BW fans get upset. People post things without knowing anything.

Hmm... twitch sponsors TL, Intel, Kingston,... sponsors EG. Steelseries, Cola, Pepsi, AMD are SC2 sponsors. Quite Big companies and I mentioned only few of them.

The difference is that most of those companies give pennies compared what the BW sponsors dish out every year. What was the Intel sponsorship for SlayerS? About 100-300k and a one-time deal? Can't remember exactly. But Companies like CJ dish out millions (yes, millions) of dollars every year. How is that comparable to Steel Series or such sponsoring some new rigs or paying for a trip ever now and then?

I do not know who pays the millions of pricemoney in SC2, but somebody has to, otherwise they wouldn't be there. And this is not counting the player saleries (we do not know how high they are but the better players can live of them). Edit: Also new tournaments come up all the time, the money in SC2 is increasing all the time.

Trust me, that is not very impressive. It does not put him above even the worst a teamers, or even some current SC2 players Who are not former legends. Most of them have beaten top players at least once.
Here are some examples:
TesteR: Flash, Fantasy, ZerO, Jaedong, Kal, Stork.
Hyuk: Jaedong, Flash, Kal, JangBi, EffOrt, Stork, ZerO
Shine: Stork, Bisu (2-0ed in OSL!), Hydra, EffOrt, Fantasy
Modesty: Hydra, ZerO, Fantasy, EffOrt, Jaedong
Jaehoon: Fantasy, ZerO, Horang2, JangBi.
This is just a very brief snapshot, I left out many top A teamers like Stats, Leta, and Movie who these guys have also beaten. I also left out many great players past their primes from the previous era.

Yeah obviously because the likes of Jaedong and Flash look at SC2 and decide that the current skill level of the game's top pros like Mvp and Nestea perfectly describes its state of balance. Sarcasm.

Sad for BW.. Good for SC2..
I hope that all fans of BW eventually come around to enjoying SC2 as much as they do BW. I personally can't wait to see my favorite BW players switch over and just destroy the scene..

Hardware and computer Gear Manufactorers: Intel, Amd, Kingston, Steelseries, Razor, Alienware Soft Drinks: Pepsi, Cola, Monster Others: Twitch.tv, ..... Countless I didn't mention. Let's look at the pricemoney in SC2: GSL has about 10 tournaments a year with a total of 1 mio pricemoney. NASL has about 400'000 for it's 3 seasons. I think all IEM tournaments together will also have 200-300 k. MLG with providence will also have more than 200k in total. All the Dreamhacks, ESWC, WCG, .... .We didn't yet speek about the saleries of the players. The better SC2 players can live of their salieries, and we do not know how high the top SC2 players saleries are. There is a lot of money in SC2 and the amount of money in the game is rising rapidly.

The difference is that BW teams in Korea are actually sponsored by legit, mainstream companies that actually do a lot more than just computer related things (CJ, SKT, Samsung, etc). Foreign teams are sponsored by nerd products that would only appeal to people who actually play video games (Kingston HyperX, energy drinks etc) and the Korean SC2 teams are sponsored by chicken shops.

NASL wasn't sponsored. They have a couple now, but they did not contribute to the original prize pool that was announced.
You cannot compare SC2 team sponsors to BW team sponsors. BW team sponsors pay huge amounts of money to have the team named after them. The teams have their sponsor names in them, whether it be KT Rolster, Samsung Khan, or CJ Entus. Everybody knows who sponsors these teams - their uniforms prove it.
You wouldn't even know that Monster sponsored EG unless you looked extremely closely at their jersey, and EG is by far the most sponsored team in the west with multiple teams across multiple games. There is no Coca-Cola Complexity or Pepsi Team Liquid. You may have FXO, but they've already scaled back their esports division, so what does that really leave you? Fnatic MSI?
If you're comparing SteelSeries and Twitch.TV to Samsung, I can't help you. You might know what SteelSeries and Twitch.TV are but most people who aren't really into gaming do not. You'll have difficulty finding a person in the civilized world who doesn't know the company Samsung.
