maybe the energy ball shoots out rapid pulses of electricity for low damage but fast attack rate but it can fire the energy ball off doing massive damage but leaving the unit vulnerable like the old phoenix after using overdrive as it recharges

That would actually be a cool unit. Blizzard indeed needs to introduce shit like this for protoss.

Terran is the only race that has toggleable cloaking (mothership doesn't count, it's continuous within the AoE). Can't overlap races.
Robotics units are strong with slow to moderate speed. This unit is fast.
Terran is the mine/bomb race. Protoss is not.

Just because something is cool, doesn't mean it fits your race and should be in the game.

A cloaking vulture for protoss is not the best they could do.


I always find posts like this funny. Dark Swarm was basically moved into Terran (PDD) and Dark Archons were moved into Zerg (Infestor).

Drawing these hard lines aboud Terran gets X and Protoss gets Y and X and Y can never overlap makes for nice aesthetics but not necessarily game play. And those lines you drew aren't even correct (Warp Prisms that come from Robotics with speed are extremely fast), which goes to show the folly in this way of thinking.

You mean Terran Bio less viable. Terran Mech in TvP would still be bad.

Yeah . . . . I don't know the game well enough to know what Blizzard would have to change in Teran mech to make it better. But Blizzard is probably looking at the complete lack of Protoss air units in mid/late game, and will try to fix it.

It means you can open Stargate and not have to throw down a Robo ASAP when/if you see Cloak being researched.

Its not only about having 3-6 new units in the game; some old units may be deleted/changed. And the ones which are not will have its role changed, because the whole of the game will adapt around the expansions changes. Just a little like the Butterfly Effect, including the nose bleeding.

So, maybe one extra air unit is not too much, as maybe staying with the same number of air units could be too much. It all depends on the new context, which we cannot know until the game is out.
