I was looking at the schedule for Blizzcon and now that I took a look at it,there will be no Q&A about HOTS with the design team,or am I missing something?
If that is true than wow man,that is some bullshit.It says they will reveal the units at blizzcon but is that all,no talk,no Q&A panel,nothing about the multiplayer?

Edit:Only a panel for Lore rofl.

There's an SC2 Lore, Campaign, Multiplayer, and Art panel. Each will probably have a Q&A after their presentations.

I've added the Friday panel to the OP at least. They will reveal the units there and most likely do a Q&A after it's done. They have in the past

A chain lightning-like spell would be pretty sweet on this thing. Would give some AoE to Protoss' air. Piloted by a templar, They would channel their psi through the ship to charge up the energy ball you can see in the pic, launch it, then when it hits the target (doing full damage) it chains off into nearby units within range of the chaining, doing less damage each bounce.

I'm not sure what it is, I'd assume its a dark templar unit because of the similarity to zeratul's ship, but what I do know is that to me its design looks really really dumb if it would be a ground unit

Maybe its one of those bladed Interceptor dealies from the ship that used to be the carrier?

what's funny though is how the design of this really does look like it's supposed to be an aerodynamic high speed flyer like phoenix, but phoenix, which has similar aerodynamic design traits, can fly backwards and sideways too, which kind of looks stupid. I saw some old video about an older version of phoenix and its function was far from what it is now, so I guess the way phoenix now sort of doesn't suit its design is an accident.

I don't know if they would think that's a significant design flaw or not, but I do, and if they do it would be rather logical to replace phoenix with this: a high speed flyer that doesn't have a design that conflicts with its function, meaning this thing doesn't fly sideways full speed. phoenix is kind of awkward anyway, It's too fat looking to have such weak looking beam weapons. the vanilla fighter plane look is boring too. at least the wings of phoenixes are curved so it looks a little cooler.

back to the silhouette:
the cockpit* size compared to the rest of the unit resembles the proportions of phoenix. this looks slimmer and maybe a tiny bit narrower, if the cockpit is the same size. I didn't measure it, someone might want to.

all in all a more useful first unit from stargate does make sense to me. there's all sorts of aspects to phoenix that could be fixed with a new unit. in addition to phoenixes looking awkward their overall usefulness after scouting and initial harass are questionable and make investing in air units less tempting, especially for the big crowd I believe. I think phoenix is a relatively hard unit to make use of in comparison to, say, banshees or mutas. I could be stretching that though.

*( I do think it's a cockpit, because of the angle. probes and sentries etc have a similar blue ball aimed directly ahead, because it's aiming where it's shooting, but voids and phoenixes have their cockpit turned upwards just like this does. it could be a part of its weaponry too, but I find cockpit more plausible. )

PS. if it doesn't attack air and it replaces phoenix, one would expect changes in protoss AA department in addition to this. it could be a buff or change to existing units or a new unit, and I think every race is getting more than 1 unit, so I'm not worrying about that aspect of this change.(edit, wrote this, because to me the 3 pointy things below the cockpit look like they're weaponry, and they look like they're in an awkward position to shoot air units )

i think it will be a stargate unit with an attack similar to the removed ability for the mothership where the mothership would charge up a beam towards the ground which you could control by moving the unit.

Dunno what it is but i really suspect it will have a "YOU MUST HAVE THIS" ability that you have to basically get or your retarded, which comes from fleet beacon to encourage more MS carriers etc

I'm guessing mothership will be removed and this unit will be added. Air spellcaster available with the templar archives, dark shrine or the advanced air unit building (can't remember the name).
