Enjoy information of the new units guys
"We just created it. It's rather gimmicky, but we felt protoss didn't have enough harass."
"It's a "void infuser". It basically supercharges one unit for 10 seconds and doubles the attack power/attack speed. It's like a protoss medivac, minus the healing, that gives it's own version of stim to any protoss unit."
"Also, while I'm here, I might as well reveal the other units. The zerg unit revealed is a "Techalisk" which is a lurker-esque creature that absorbed a science vessel onto it's back. It can irradiate Terran and protoss organic units, generate an organic force field around other units, and spew a gunk which is like a bio stasis on casters. It'll cost at least 300 gas, since it's such a good unit. We're working on it though."
"The Terran unit is a reworked reaper. Our devs said we needed to work the reaper over and this was the best solution. He's now a "Greaper" which you could consider as an improved reaper. He retains his ability to climb up cliffs, but now he gets a combat shield+dual rifles like marines and the old reaper, but he can switch between that and a hellion like flame thrower for splash. It's basically a unit that can change it's attack method. We prefer to think of it like a siege tank."

I'm definitely calling it a Corsair!

Also, normal toss units are very smooth and have curved, rounded protuberances. The spikes on this-un suggest Dark templar stylings. A stealth aircraft could be really cool for toss, as could an air caster.
Looking forward to it. Hopefully it will provide a bridging element that will encourage carriers to come out alongside them
FINALLY, a flying dt! Oh the dreams I've had.

no idea what this unit will be like, but the unit design is downright awful. Where does the good design go if not in these new units? they seemed to do a great job with infestor and sentry come on!

The unit looks small so I think it is some kind of unit used to harass.
It probably has some spell casting ability used for harassing.

Of course it isn't. It is pure speculation.
Blizzcon will tell.

The unit names sound a bit bad though. I don't think Blizzard would give them those names.
EDIT: I got to the Greaper part, and yeah, it sounds totally made up. Surely not from Blizz. At least imo.

It's called super troll. also I hope this isn't some second voidray .

But having mulled on this during the day, I think it COULD be quite an elegant solution.
I assume that Blizz will not touch the warp mechanic (under some delusion that it's just too "cool" to let it go) and thus gateway units will remain mediocre for anything other than some form of X Gate timing attack.. I also assume blizzard will want to address their comments that they want to give protoss an active harass type unit.
Given the above, and the design shown for this unit, I predict this being some form of average-to-fast speed, low-to-average HP flying unit which does short-range, AOE electrical damage from air to ground only. The attack could possibly take the form of a short-ranged frontal cone and would probably have a somewhat low rate of fire. I would expect the damage to be relatively low, but possibly receive bonus dmg to light. If the unit received bonus damage, it could be expected that blizzard would limit the number of targets the unit would hit (ie it would shoot out a limited number of lightning bolts at a time which target the nearest unit, rather than hitting everything in the AOE like a Bling or Hellion). Thus the unit would be largely useless against high-hp, high armour units, largely useless in small numbers but good against low hp or low armour units like workers, marines, lings and sentries; essentially filling a role akin to the baneling and helion. I'd expect the cost to reflect the capabilities of such a unit and to limit the ability to produce them en masse, particularly from one base.
This type of unit would be quite capable in assisting protoss to base raid in much the same way that the hellion and baneling (drops) can, and also assist protoss to deal with mass low tier units which are extremely difficult to deal with as protoss before large numbers of collossus or storms are available (thus being good for those 1-1-1 and mass ling/bling type builds that have found favour at various times).
Anyway, I could be completely wrong or just wishing too hard, but if the unit fills that role, I would be very satisfied with protoss as a whole. so a low range, protoss banshee that can't cloak? wouldn't it evaporate vs. marines? No. I'm saying something similar to a corsair that hits the ground. In low numbers, it would be useless, but get 4 or 5 of them target firing on a certain area, and clumps of 3-5 marines/workers/lings would disappear in one volley. Expand the count, and it simply rapes low numbers of clumped, low tier units/workers and requires other forms of AA to deal with (vikings or thors for example.... Christ we could see Mech in TvP again!) Although I'm a Sad Zealot, even I will admit that this sounds a bit too powerful o-o. I'm probably seeing it differently than you though. ;o Like I said, I would be assuming a low rate of fire (as the electricity charges up again perhaps). So you couldnt fly in and rape entire worker lines or HIGH number low-tier armies in 2 seconds. A low rate of fire could ensure: 1. Workers can run to a degree, you have time to scramble something to deal with the attackers. 2. High numbers of marines could simply fight back with their own sick DPS and spreading. 3. Lings can just run away. 4. Hydras: fight back, same as marine.

I'm kind of psyched for this, I eagerly await blizzcon now, gonna be really interesting.

I know what it is - its Tassadars' magic pan

To those who thinks its gonna be a spellcaster.... toss already has 3 spell casters: mothership, sentry + ht. Terran has ghost & raven. Zerg has infestor. See the balance there?

Pure gold. Thanks for making my morning. hehehe that actually sounds like dustin browder's thought process.

Protoss banshee you heard it here!

You totally missed the Dark Knight reference, lol.
My first instinct was Sentry replacement, but that was dumb.
So now it'll be the Phoenix replacement. Lift up into the center of the unit, friendly or otherwise, and possibly ferry a few steps or something strange. Interesting to think about. Not sure how it'll attack though.
