We are currently talking about this issue in the mod forum. We take this issue very seriously, and want to find the best way to serve those who want faster results, and those that don't wish to be spoiled.

Whenever I miss a game and don't want it to be spoiled, I avoid TL and any other SC2 news site until I watch it. The same thing happens when I DVR Breaking Bad or something. I just don't go to any Breaking Bad discussion sites.

Is it killing eSports? Not really, but it would be nice to see champion pictures on the TL news page.

Just make that option to toggle whether you want spoiler tags for results for your profile.

I'm really surprised at the direction in which this poll is going! I've always thought the spoilers were kinda silly but I thought the majority of people would hate all over me if I said anything -__- Good to know I'm not the only one! I don't have time to watch all the tourneys and I find it frustrating that I can't just switch over to TL to see "I wonder who won last night?"

I read the threads about the GSL games when I am at work during the day, then come home and watch the Vods at night. x.x makes me sad when something gets spoiled. Not a huge deal either way though

I agree with the OP. When I watch a sport like baseball on TV I always like to read the ESPN story about it. Occasionally I will record a sporting event that I know I can't watch, but I will avoid all use of the internet to avoid spoilers. For instance during the FIFA world cup my dad and I brain stormed places to eat lunch that didn't have TVs so we wouldn't be spoiled from the match results.

I think people who want to avoid spoilers should take this approach. If you to experience the "live event feel" several hours later, you should not be browsing the internet. I think creating a spoiler free version should be enough to appease those who really don't want to get spoiled. But for those who want to know the result, there should be a headline to match the magnitude of the event.

You can. I don't see the need for any change. If you want to find the results, you go on TL, find the LR thread for the event and there it is, or the Recent Tournament Results page on Liquipedia, etc. There's the live scoreboard type stuff that sites like ESFIworld have, but for TL I don't see the need for any change. People shouldn't have to be spoiled if they're just on their way to the strategy section or something. Apparently I'm the minority for thinking this, maybe it's different for me because I'm not in the time zone that most people are hence I can't catch a lot of stuff live, but people need to understand that for some people, knowing the result kills the enjoyment of watching the event and making it an extra click for the majority to make things great for the minority really doesn't seem like much of a sacrifice.

Completely agree with OP. If you don't want to be spoiled, then don't click the fucking thread that would say something like "IPL3 Winner Announcement!" and post a response complaining about how you got spoiled. In the first place, TL is a place for discussion and congregation for SC fans. Discussing the results of tournaments is what TL is for. Now if you don't want to be spoiled before watching something, then STAY OFF TL UNTIL YOU FINISH. How hard is that?

if you can't watch it live just don't visit the site for 24 hours, it's really not a huge deal.

So is the FIFA World Cup, the Olympics, etc. Guess what? All those results are front page news on every website as soon as they happen. People need to quit whining about match results being spoiled.

I'm from a different timezone to most tournaments and usually can't watch live; I also often can't watch GSL live due to the poor connection from Korea to my particular ISP in Australia.

Having said that I hate the whole spoiler bullshit, as long as I can bookmark a link to spoiler free VODs I'm totally fine with TL publishing results on the front page, and I think it's a great idea.

Or... if you want to know the results or discuss them, go to the tournament's thread. It's a much smaller deal. We already got TL pro so I don't know why it's even an issue.

With the recent teamliquid.net sidebar upgrades, I'm sure it would be feasible to give the users the option between a live-results homepage and a "spoiler-free" version.

If you want spoiler'd results, just go to GosuGamers.net

I'm sure there are other sites that are similar... so I'm fine with TL being different not having immediate results on front page.

People are selfish, that's why, and feel entitled to their fun not being "spoiled." Seriously grow up kids. I would blast my brains if I had to go through this spoiler crap in regards to athletic sports.

I sort of do miss the celebratory aspect from regular sports... There's definitely something to saying "oh hell yes, my favorite player/team/etc won" without having seen the matches.

That said, I totally understand not wanting matches to be spoiled.

Maybe use TLPro/other teams similar websites to celebrate? At least for TL themselves, this solves the problem, as that part of the website has massive spoilers anyway what with the twitter feeds and other "live" elements. Other teams with less used websites might have some significant troubles getting the news out however, but linking to them in spoilers tags never hurts.
