There are many ways to get newcomers into SC2, I'd start with pointing them to some famous Youtube casters. If they then want to take the step from watching individual disconnected games to watching an ongoing league/LAN, I'm sure they too would prefer not to know the results in advance. From this thread, it's become apparent that a great deal of you don't mind if you know the results in advance, you just want to watch a good game. I respect that. On the other hand, it seems a lot of people don't respect the fact that for some of us, the whole point of watching SC2 is void if you know who will win. Simplified (in a rude way) it's just "me me me, I want this, I don't care if it's ruined for the rest of you". Why not? He might want to read the LR thread while he watches. What if the tourney is not GSL? What if he wants to use the TL thread for the link to the stream/VOD page? And most of all, what's wrong with TL as it is now? I never said anything was wrong with TL as it is. I'm refuting the logic that people who who want to see results should dig for them while OCD spoiler people can't simply watch the videos before they next check out TL. edit: also, spoiler option on forums to hide news or something

But there's a point when it doesn't really make sense to appease to the 15% and a site is better off to start appeasing the 85%. We might soon be at such a point. The only thing we can all be sure about is that Nazgul and the TL admins will handle this with care, like when they made the changes to the right sidebar, moving the BW content and giving SC2 the focus the numbers and userbase demanded. There isn't a point when its so easy to check results (Liquidpedia/LR threads anyone?) and this 'spoiler tl' would ruin it for people that would rather not know that + Show Spoiler + Stephano owned On October 13 2011 07:53 vasatko2 wrote: the one who invented spoilers must had PhD. There are plenty more if you use Google. These studies are made by scientists(AKA PhD., AKA people who write cool looking statistical shit to make a money)

Also, for what it's worth, I personally don't really care if the event is live or if I've seen the results. It's the journey not the destination. Think of it in porn terms, is there really a difference if it's live or not?

For real sports, you probably watch the game on TV or something (usually live), then go to the website to read more in depth about the game, the interviews/reactions etc. But for Starcraft, for most people (myself included), you come to teamliquid just to discover the results (whether it be live or looking for the VODs) since there is no other way to find the results short of bookmarking the sites that show the tournaments. You wouldn't want the results to be there in your face when you were just there to find discussion about something else. Also, there's more than one tournament happening at the same time, it's not like the Superbowl or Stanley cup finals where everyone focuses on one thing

I mean, if you come here knowing full well you may be spoiled, then don't come until you've seen whatever it is. Just like you don't go to the wikipedia page about a movie you are about to go see. Also, for what it's worth, I personally don't really care if the event is live or if I've seen the results. It's the journey not the destination. Think of it in porn terms, is there really a difference if it's live or not? Think of it in sports terms, it really makes a difference if the first thing you see is DRAMATIC COMEBACK IN 59' MIN. Also most people who come to this site don't just come to check results of tournaments, so implying they shouldn't use TL until they watch every single game they haven't caught up on is silly.

When I want to view vods I come to TL because I can find everything here. I also come here for other things because this isn't exclusively a SC2 website. There's literally no point to spoilers.. All the information is still here under the spoiler tags and spoiler threads, all the vods and results of a tournament are in their designated thread.. Why is this such a big deal? Some people don't want spoilers and for the people that don't care it doesn't matter one way or another.. The information is still there..

Shouldn't, you know, watching the games be what gives you excitement? The tournament is over, you know who won, but you are still pumped and want to keep having that mood for a while. At the moment when the tournament is over and you go to TL, it's a bit of a downer. I want to read news then, about the things I noticed and the things I missed. At that time, when I'm totally hyped and 100% in SC2 mood, not days after. I want to share the celebration mood I'm in then with fellow community members in the comments and discuss the news articles and anything tournament related in a thread that doesn't look like spoiler spoiler spoiler. Instead have a whole spoiler news section which is 1 big spoiler, making spoiler tag there not needed and big headlines on the homepages with "Tournament X just ended, read everything about it here!!! Be warned, this is a high spoiler section" I'd love to have as much information available about the tournament I just saw. Read interviews with the players. Read lots of background info I missed while watching the tournament. Have an overview, read about drama, have links to the replays, vods etc, all in 1 spoiler news forum.

Personally there is games that I really want to watch without spoilers, and others that I wouldn't be too fussed about. For example I would've hated to see spoilers before watching the Nestea/MVP Ro8 match (I saw it live, but whatever :D) But I would't be too fussed if say a major event was spoiled - eg i didn't watch the last MLG, but I wouldn't have cared if someone told me the winner anyway - it's a major event, so bad luck to me for not watching it live.

TL is the one site I can visit without getting spoiled and that's a great thing. Don't change that!

As for the spoilers per se, i don´t mind, because, unless is a live event the hype and excitement of a vod is, for me, equal if I know the results or not; and the quallity of the games themselves holds up unaltered, so I want my + Show Spoiler + Stephano JRE.

TL's news coverage is a very minor part of the website's function. Despite the relatively large size of the community there are not many people with the willingness and talent to write

A thread, or a subforum, where (very) recent tournaments can be discussed, everything goes.
