However imo, TL has shown that they don't care about that. They want to maintain the community they have, which would have to take a backseat if they did 'monetize' TL. Also consider that a majority of news and events we hear about on TL aren't from TL contributors - they are provided directly from the source using TL as a medium. Basically, for the spoiler-free policy to change, and have any affect other then alienating the portion of the community that likes to browse TL without significant worry of being spoiled, a massive shift in how TL operates would have to accompany it.

is it really THAT hard for you to check it yourself without being kind of inconsiderate to slowpokes or people who don't like staying up all night or waking up early? it must be considering how easy it is to start crying "THIS IS HURTING E-SPORTS" holy fuck I'm tired of that phrase.

I'm with you on that. It started as a joke I think but everyone takes it so seriously now.. It's like saying is ESPN hurting sports because they have the results on the bottom of the screen monday morning after sunday football games. I mean some people dvr that shit to watch later just like we have vods.

Also, it would be great to have match ticker here, so i don't have to go to readmore.de everytime i want to check the results, one click and you can see everything on home page.

I can tell at least 50% of them don't even watch those games for weeks or months or never... But they are the first one's to complain about that, it's time to end this spoiler madness. I'm curious, exactly how can you tell that?

Then if you want to know who the winner is, you can CLICK on the article and see STEPHANO in all his glory, with a shit eating grin (provided such a picture was snapped) and a quote "TO THE BANK" followed by infinite discussion and joy. You keep the spoiler people happy. You let people enjoy the hype. I don't believe you need his pretty face on the front page. That's not taking into account the value of watching SC2 matches, something real sports rarely capture. If i miss a game of <realsport> it's dead to me. I've missed it, I don't care anymore. SC2 though is completely different. The stories are better, the results mean more than just the end of another season and one person winning. The game itself matters. You gotta keep that shit spoiler free for at least a day or two. But you can still have your front page article, and with one minute click you can see the hype. This is BRILLIANT. Do this, please! I don't know why, but I hate having my SC2 results spoiled. I get so much more satisfaction out of not knowing who is going to win a finals (especially because I'm going to watch the VODs). If I know the winner, it's a much less enjoyable experience.

My recommendation is to check TL (for the community) and something like gosugamers (which does do breaking news/quick tournament results). I think the lack of info on say IPL3 winner has more to do with the time it takes for TL to produce a quality article than it does of being worried about spoilers.

Most joe-schmoe sports viewers don't know anything about the depth of the game and don't really care. They just watch it to watch it. They know what a good play looks like, sorta, but that's it. SC2, on the other hand, is extremely reliant on the games themselves. Results aren't the punchline. Take the recent Stephano performance for example. His actual gameplay was much more important than the results themselves. Because of this, a lot of people make sure they watch the games themselves. If someone misses a basketball game or a football game or something, it is a lot less important to watch the games. And people do stuff like watch highlights, lol. TLDR: The sports community is more fickle, cares less about the depth of the game, and takes it less seriously than the SC2 community. There are already spoilered threads to discuss the games in, so I dunno what you're even talking about. Now I haven't quite caught up with the entire thread, but this in particular was just beckoning me to comment. Next time try typing from off your high horse. I get the feeling you probably don't even watch that many sports, and are also ignorant to the fact that many SC2 fans are the "joe-schmoe" types you described.

As for the sports comparison, I would argue that it's different because the progression and entertainment of a SC2 game is very context dependent as part of a larger picture. Whereas each individual point is an individual point in a sports-game, players know what the standings are. And even though a person might be "behind in food" or "behind in bases" in SC2, great plays hinge on the overlal rest of the game, and knowing the end result of a game spoils the anticipation of the overall flow.

It's just hilarious how people are offended by a thread title. Many people are missing the points I am trying to make in the OP. I have absolutely no problems in finding tournaments results or following the scene with the current TL system. The recommandations I am making is to facilitate the integration of newcomers/casual viewers and to give them to feeling of excitement and hype when they arrive on TL after a friend tell them about the scene. I have no idea what is goal of TL and how they view their website, so whatever, I'm just sharing how I see the website evolving. And please don't turn this into a old-timers TLers being run over by the spoilerlovers newcomers.

Do you really have to log on team liquid the evening following a GSL finals knowing there will be spoilers, before actually watching them?
