Hopefully thats where the team captain (Geoff) comes into play. I think he has the leadership and the communication skills to pull it off.

I think we need a reality show with EG or something like big brother, showing us all the shenanigans. The house is incredible!

Sick house. I highly doubt any other team will be able to come anywhere near this kind of luxury.

I know real-estate is relatively cheap right now, especially in suburban Phoenix (where I also live), but how the Jesus fuck did team EG afford this? I had no idea a non-korean pro-gaming team had these kind of resources. From what I've seen in videos anyway, these accommodations dwarf a lot of Korean team's houses, this is something they would use to house way more than just 8-12 players it seems like.

God, I hate to be such a negative nancy, but too much comfort doesn't always foster the bloodthirsty competitive drive necessary to compete with Korean teams. I don't claim to know everything about the korean broodwar practice environment, but from what I've gathered it's very competitive to even have the priviledge of playing the game professionally and have your room and board provided for and practice partners/b teamers are afforded minimal luxuries and slipping/succumbing to distraction/not progressing is a surefire way to get sent home. Obviously some balance is important and all, but I would foresee a lot of players perhaps not progressing as quickly in this environment compared to a more sparse one. When I picture a Korean broodwar teamhouse, I'm not getting the image of the players huddled around console games, going out to the backyard pool, playing with warhammer figurines, watching DVDs/television often. I remember Rekrul recounting stories of him getting bitched out for playing poker during his brief progaming career. The starving wolf is a much more fearsome beast than the thoroughbred, domesticated, dog.

But then again, with the western scene expanding as it is and the fact that there's a lot more amateurism, maybe they don't even need to practice 10-12 hours/day with complete focus and determination to dominate western tournaments. I'd reckon they could probably dominate most western events practicing much less and leading an ultimately much more balanced and fulfilling life. Training for the GSL or for professional broodwar is a lot more demanding than for the events of the western esports scene. I would also foresee a lot less potential for players to burn out on the game and hit severe slumps. And I'm sure any player would be happier practicing in an EG type environment, and that's definitely important.

I guess as a fan I always expected that the only thing separating western players from the Koreans was access to support and the fact that there was a relative lack of full time professionals which resulted in a lower overall level of play. Maybe the cultural factors and the fact that Korea is still a developing economy is a bigger reason for the gap between foreigners and Koreans than I had though.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I was definitely surprised and expecting something totally different. I don't mean to disparage team EG or it's players in any way, sorry if it comes off that way.

huk is code s mainstay and won dreamhack. puma won nasl and iem. idra won ipl 1. not amazing results, but if you look around at the foreign tourneys you will find that koreans have been winning everything since naniwa won mlg dallas.

Funny how their results are from players new to EG or quite a while back.
By following that term, both HuK and Puma is going into a slump (not that I mind seeing HuK down in code B). But it's sad to see EG take credit for what another team did.

Sure, I wouldn't mind being in that house myself, just chillin' and playing games (heck, I don't evcne have to show results, just leech of someone elses money). Basically winning the lottery and having someone else pay for your shit.

Last time i heard he was on break due to personal problems which is why he was absent to past foreign tournament. This was before he switch to Zerg. Idk his situation atm
Nice house team EG
I thought scoots live with ya guys

He was absent at MLG because he was with the sponsors at Kingston HyperX working the booth there for PAX Prime. I don't know if he's on break from the game, but it has nothing to do with him playing Zerg since he's been playing Zerg for several months now. He lives at home in Baton Rouge though, he is very close to his family and his girlfriend there so living in Arizona wasn't yet for him, although he has stated in the past that bootcmaping there is definitely something he'd plan on doing.

@Drowsy: you said it best when you stated you don't know anything about progaming / bw. You don't. A nice house and the fact we own a tv and non PC gaming consoles doesn't mean we don't put in 10 hour days each day... we do.

Progaming teams watch movies on a regular basis and play other games as well (korean teams that is). It's called being a human. Gets old explaining this over and over to a bunch of people that think they know half of what it takes to commit to being a progamer.

@chokke: Huk is code S. Puma slumping? By what standard? His 5th place finish at his first MLG? boohoo. EG took credit for what other teams did? How? Where do you see us taking that credit?

I know you are a troll (posted several times in here, same kinda bs) but please, at least be semi correct with it.

Impressive house, you are definitely in the best environnment to practice. I really hope you are able to keep practicing hard even if chilling in the pool and acting lazy seems interesting...!

I honestly try to avoid responding to posts like "EG = No results" But you dont appear to be a troll. So lets discuss: I dont feel like Puma has been in a slump at all. He won IEM over MC 3-0 when he was on EG. He placed 5th at MLG behind 4 other koreans, hes winning most of his clan matches (only loss is to Mana (baller PvT)). Even while he was at the EG lair its been documented that hes mainly trained on the korean ladder (sources: TOP's interview during his GSL run to the finals and InC on SToG).

As far as Huk goes, he slumped because of lack of practice and too much traveling, doesnt matter what team hes on, good chance anyone in those conditions slump. But I don't think he slumped that hard. He still made GSL Ro8. Even with Huk's slump, its difficult to name a better foreigner right now. Sure you can argue a few (Thorzain comes to mind) but to not include Huk in a top 3 would be silly.

I do think your mentality of "EG take credit for what another team did" is quite immature and silly. First and foremost Huk and Puma earned their accomplishments, not their teams. Don't get me wrong, teams definitely help but you make it sound as if the credit goes only to the team. Also you selfishly refuse to look out for the players themselves. Don't you think Huk and Puma earned the right to have some financial stability? Do you realize what kind of opportunity EG is providing them? For a lot of these players its their dream to be a pro gamer and be financially stable, who are you to say they do or do not deserve it?
