Complexity has confirmed that they waited until they had a signed contract from him to make the announcement.

Update:
Within the last hour Team Millennium announced that Stephano was remaining with their organization despite the fact he executed a legally binding contract with compLexity. We are extremely disappointed by this turn of events are are seeking more information while we evaluate our legal options with French counsel. By no means do we want a player who does not want to be part of our organization but we can not simply allow players and organizations to completely disrespect the legal contractual process that ensures stability in our evolving sport.

He did sign a contract.

Confusion!
It was super effective!

hopefully he stays with coL tbh. They seem to be a much bigger team so more potential for training etc.. etc.. gl hf

WTF Mind EXplode!! ... The Article the way it's written is rather confusing....
"The techniques used by Complexity to recruit Stephano were quite disorienting to influence our young player towards a bad decision. After a long discussion, Stephano understood his error and decided to definitely stay with Millenium for the next 12 months
This troubled day was, however, full of lessons. This morning, with the announcement of our player to an American team, the majority of the french community considered this transfer as a logical step. I even saw some amateur writers of our site write with sadness that Millenium "could not compare." "
What?? Lol can someone elaborate.
Or is this about to bring a Shit Storm. O.o I don't really Like Complexity at all but this seems akward very perplexing.

Both left not long after they signed because as soon as they were thinking straight, they realized they didn't want to play for Complexity. The situations are like, the same, but completely different. In Destiny's case, there's no one to sue/blame but Destiny himself just because he didn't want to be in Complexity. With this, there's Stephano, but also Millenium, which is an actual organization, rather than an individual player, that is trying to pull back a player into a different team.

If coL announced it, I'm sure he signed a contract, this will be really interesting. But I doubt anything legal will occur, just bad blood

players gonna have to start getting managers and a PR crew because many obviously have no clue how the real world works

I was going to suggest this as well but then remembered Complexity could call on DongRaeGu, Keen, sC, Genius and Noblesse to pound face.

1. Stephano signed with coL while he was still signed with Millenium. This seems like it might be possible, as I never saw a statement from Millenium indicating Stephano's contract had run out.
2. Stephano got cold feet with coL and decided he wanted to stay with Millenium. This seems less likely, as coL staff would should be able to enforce the contract he signed (though it's worth mentioning they were really gracious with Destiny and let him out his contract days after signing). I doubt 1. happened because Millenium would have a legitimate argument for why Stephano was staying. They didn't mention it, so I'm inclined to think there was no contract with them prior to the coL contract.
I know that when HuK was on Millenium last year he was contracted, so I'd presume they'd be in the habit of signing all their players.

I'd consider this a smart move if that's how it went down. Except you can't "sign" (a contract) with a team and then just take a better offer. This is what contracts are for. Following these developments with great interest. Legally speaking I don't think if Complexity retains his contract that he can play anywhere not under them until this is sorted...or else comlpexity could legally sue him for any penny he earns playing for mellinium.
They wouldn't do either if they have any sense left in them. It certainly wouldn't help their image and popularity to hold a talented 18-year old player against his will, let alone sue him.
If he doesn't want to play for them, he doesn't want to play and that's that.

rofl. and I mean it "rofl". when I saw the news about stephano going to coL, it kinda confused for some reasons, but I was like "whatever, I hope this works out great for him and his new team". But when I now read that he stays with M I`m actually smiling. Good Luck Stephano, you are an awesome player and I hope you find the right mindset to stay on track and improve more and more.
|
And don't forget that a contract in France provides him with social care. And thus counts towards its retirement. That's not something he would have with coL.

Iam so freaking glad...
Who ever made those mistakes col, mil or stephano iam just happy he stays with Millenium. They were long time a talentfactory for sc2 and i was very sad when i read that stephano would leave.

There is a lot of flowery speech in the millenium article for some reason. That worries me.
|
Well this is fairly awkward.
Millenium... Complexity... hell for all I care Ratz, as long as Stephano keeps ripping tournaments apart I will support him. Gogo :D
|
How funny is it to see the 2 topics about the subject.
"Stephano decides to stay with Millenium"
"Stephano joins col"

haha wtf??? quickest moveever!!!
